Past trip
in Squared Roots Farm Yurt, OregonJeremy & Danaâs place is so lovely! The yurt is very clean with lots of light & both beds are so comfortable as you drift to sleep listening to the creek. J & D are very responsive & knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time hanging out in the Alsea River nearby. Weâll be back!
Past trip
in Action Sports Roamer Sites, OregonAn amazing facility! As a Never-Not-Cold, I was surprised at how comfortable the tent was despite the blustery, rainy 38 degree evening (though in the middle of the night I was glad I brought my sleeping bag to throw on top of the quilt). My daughter & I had a great time using the trampolines, skate park, & bike trails. Jim was very welcoming & responsive, making sure to coordinate with the studentsâ schedules so we could use the facilities as well.
Past trip
in The Otter Rock Surf Yurt, OregonThis yurt is so well-built, itâs going to outlast us all! It really is a beautiful structure. Very warm and comfortable, well-stocked kitchen. Bathroom & shower are very nice, & the outdoor shower was great for cleaning up sandy feet. Great location so close to the beach. We wouldnât have changed a thing!
Past trip
in WindWoodRivers, WashingtonAbsolutely gorgeous! Lovely stream running through our campsite. Short walk to the hot springs. Hardly heard or saw a soul the whole time we were there. The river is the clearest Iâve ever seen. My daughter and I really loved our time here! Highly recommended
Past trip
Group Site #3 - Hilltop
in Four Directions Retreat, OregonWe had a great time! Nicole was very responsive & flexible when we had a last minute change of plans. She even changed our campsite to a larger & more private one since it wasnât booked. Our site (#6) was large. It was surprisingly quiet at nightâno road noiseâexcept for the owl stationed in the tree above our tent. That was lovely to hear. They have outdoor games to play in the meadow. My daughter loved watching the ducks & newts in the little pond. Weâll be back. Thanks!
Past trip
in Molalla Ripple, OregonMy middle school kids and I loved Molalla Ripple! Our site was clean & gorgeous, overlooking the river. Lots of space between us and other campers. We came in mid August and the river was flowing low and slow enough that it felt very safe for kids. Some areas were deep enough to swim but lots of areas were very low, making it perfect for little ones to wade in. Porta potty area was clean with a hand washing station. James was always helpful and responsive.
FYI, the property isnât far off the road & we could hear road & nearby town sounds at night so itâs definitely not a wilderness type experience. But this is what we expected & it didnât bother us. Just a great place to spend time outside, let the kids play in the water all day &, build a fire. We will definitely return.
Past trip
in Bar UK River Ranch Camp & Ride, WashingtonThis was the perfect camping experience for my 11 year old daughter and me. Our site was clean & gorgeous, overlooking the river. A rope was there to help climb down the bank to the water. We had the westernmost site (I think #6) and there was plenty of room for our large tent, plus another if we had needed. Porta potty was clean with a hand washing + water station nearby. Erik and Michelle were welcoming, easygoing, and responsive when needed. We definitely enjoyed the horseback ride.
This isnât wilderness campingâitâs definitely pitching a tent on someoneâs beautiful ranch property. So if you want the feeling of being alone in the woods, this isnât it. But it was perfect for us. Lots of trees and water with some creature comforts. We loved watching the swallows in the morning and the bats in the evening swooping down to the river to catch bugs. A great place to just be outside and let the kids play. Iâm pretty nervous about kids & water and although I still watched her, the river is so gentle and slow moving that I wasnât worried about her safety at all.
Past trip
in Horse Lovers Paradise, WashingtonFarm animal heaven for kids!
Horse Loversâ Paradise and Michelle, the host, were wonderful. So many animals to interact with and lots of room to run around. The stable tour and riding lesson were so much fun and educational.
The grounds and common areas were immaculate, including the portapotties, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. Everyone at the ranch, staff and guests, were very covid- & social distance-cautious, which was a relief.
This is definitely more backyard camping than wilderness camping, which is what we expected. It was a great first trip post-quarantine. One note, there is a very bright floodlight near the campsites. If youâd rather be able to see the stars, just let them know and theyâll gladly turn it off.
Past trip
in Turning Earth Farms, OregonGreat weekend with kids. Brought my 9 & 12 year olds here and they had a blast! The goats and dog were fun and hilarious. Loretta the reserved llama graced us with her presence many times. Composting toilet was pristine (my kids didnât even mind it, which is saying a lot). The two creek access sites were beautiful and fun to play in. We will definitely return here. Just be sure not to leave anything out as the goats are free range during the day (a few books got a little chewed up & a meal got raided).
Sarah, the owner, and community members are very welcoming. My car battery died and they went out of their way to find cables and get me a jump in time to be on my way. I have to admit I was paranoid after hearing there was poison oak, but we asked for help identifying it, didnât find a lot, and had no troubles with it.
I would recommend Teal Creek!
