Turning Earth Farms

Great Location. Sara (Land Owner) was gracious and kind. If you camp and want to bring a dog think twice. Hip Camp says dogs are allowed however Teal Creek Camp posts No Dogs. Sara took great care of us, offered us a family dinner and fresh farm eggs for breakfast. Book here and you will have an unique experience.

Sara is awesome! She is very welcoming and friendly. The farm has a nice forest at its edge that you camp in. There is a small creek nearby as well. The best part of our stay was the farm animals - Loretta the llama, the three goat kids and a playful wild cat. I loved our stay here. A must visit!

Teal Creek Camp at Turning Earth Farms is a great escape from the city, only about 40 minutes southwest of Salem, and 2 hours from Portland! Off of Kings Valley Hwy heading south, turn right (west) on Gardner Road, and drive about 1 mile up the dirt road, and on the right hand side you will see a driveway with the Turning Earth Farms sign. Stay to the right and go down the driveway to the second house. This is where Don the camp host met us and led us further down the road, through a gate and into the field and animal grazing area. From there we drove past all the happy little goats, chickens and a lama, and into a large plot of acreage comprised of a fully grown tree farm- which created a magical forest in the middle of the neighboring flat fields! It was dreamy and moody and offered great shade and exploring and had multiple campsites within it. We navigated down the cleared forest road to the end where the trees gave way to Teal Creek and it's local fauna. We camped at the head of one little trail to "Dog Beach" and reveled in the warm glowing water of the creak all afternoon (after going and playing with the baby goats for too short a time). In the evening we met Don back up at the house as he was heading to the neighbors land to help pick and collect apples for pressing. We met so many awesome people from all over who happened to be there helping out, forming a fun hardworking little community. We cut, mashed, and pressed apples for cider into the night, until Don hosted us for a quick dinner after which we went back to camp and slept peacefully. In the morning we found awesome little creatures at the creek like frogs and crawfish while sipping coffee. It was such an easy going, fun, and full experience at Teal Creek that we will definitely be heading back through the next chance we can!

We really enjoyed our stay at the farm! It was more than just a place to sleep. We got in touch with a lot of nice people and animals :-) Highly recommended!

What a great camping experience!! The camp area is beautifully maintained and the farm animals are a hoot. Love the goats!! It was fun to help press the apples for apple cider and learn to milk a goat. And the communal dinners were a great way to tie it all together. Thank you so much Sara and Don!

We really enjoyed our stay at the farm! Super nice people, funny animals, nice and relaxing scenery. Maybe the only downside is that the access to drinking water is a 5min walk. But you'll meet nice people on the way ;-)

This place is so AMAZING! Have been there 3 times already this summer, and am looking to book for next summer!!! The goats that roam free are so much fun, and keep you on your toes with picking up the campsite :) There are 2 different spots to access water, and even if you don't want to get in there are quiet places to sit and just listen to. This place is highly recommended for relaxation, serenity, and just all around peaceful place. Sara the host is so sweet, and love when she comes around to greet/check in on the campers. Can't wait til my next visit!!!

This is a beautiful property. The camping area is nicely wooded, close to the creek and flat. The goats and chickens were out to greet us when we arrived. As we were headed into the canopy of the woods, Loretta the llama was hanging out just watching us go by. We brought our bikes with us and went on short little rides across the property. The hostess was super friendly and welcoming too.
