Welcome to Molalla Ripple!
Enjoy the sweet sound of the water rolling over the rocks. Site's are sixty feet apart for privacy. Early morning sounds of the birds singing. Path to river for all campers. Two private beach areas to relax. The river does change after heavy rains so it may not be able to swim in early Spring but fishing is great. July and August have the lowest water flows for younger people to enjoy the water. USGS maintains a flow meter in Canby just North of us. Walk out to the swimming hole from the river path. We work with our local Oregon Department of Forestry to insure we comply with all camp fire's along the river. When needed they may or may not issue permits to allow burning. We ask that you respect the neighbors to the North that has the sign End of Hip Camp. Enjoy the view and sounds of horses running. Cows calling for the next meal. Ranch life on the JSM Ranch. We have a small 25 acre farm on the Molalla River with goats and sheep. Ducks and chickens run freely on the farm. We raise 100% Grass fed Black Angus. Your just minutes from Molalla town to grab a bite or stock up on food. Two of our favorite places to eat is Tammy D's and Hubble Pig you won't be disappointed! But please review the rules and ask your guest to do the same. We have electric fences and moving water.

We loved spending the weekend at Molalla Ripple. James was a wonderful host and had everything prepared. The bathroom and hand washing station were clean and in close proximity to our site. We also enjoyed the views and sounds of the river! I would highly recommend choosing this site for your next weekend getaway!
Exceeding our first hipcamp experie
This exceeding our expectations! This was our first hipcamp experience. Jim and Mary were so welcoming and their space is gorgeous. The sites are very private, the outhouse is sparkling and there’s a hand washing station right outside it. The sites are right on the water which is great to fall asleep to. We ordered firewood to get started and purchased more from Jim during our stay. Beautiful trails to walk and explore. The boys did some fishing but the water was high so we’ll be back once it’s drops a bit to get in some fishing and see the swimming hole. We stayed in site #3.
I stayed two nights at Molalla Ripple camp site #3 with my pup! And it was pure joy! Quite, peaceful, clean & safe. The swimming hole was also private and easy to lounge in and around. The sounds of the birds compete with the sound of the water some hours of the day, couldn’t ask for better music for a get away soundtrack. Thank you for opening up your land for others to enjoy! I’d love to come back!
Serene family-friendly river camp
Serene riverside camping, just what we needed! With fresh water and clean toilets we enjoyed a dreamy weekend, with cute cows checking in on us as we played by the river. Can't wait to come back when it's swimming season.
Nice location along the river. Site was bit small and not very level (site 1). Access was toght for a full size van. James and his daughter, Sam, were great hosts and are actively making improvements.
We had a wonderful two nights at Molalla Ripple. We switched over to Site 2 and were the only campers so we had space to relax and play with our dogs. Loves the cows grazing, the sound of the river all day and night, and watching the bats come out at sunset over the river. Site 2 has the best view of the river, but the other sites have a little more privacy. The fire pit was awesome as it has an attached grill. Pottapotty and hand washing station next to camp and pretty clean! Thanks for a great time, James!
