Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs. There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

Situated on a working farm just 15 min. southeast of Ithaca, NY, this is perfect for a family or romantic get-away. Luxury camping has a greater level of comfort and convenience, but it is still camping. This means the camp area can be affected by extreme weather, insects, heat, and noises in the area (dogs barking, neighbors mowing lawns, etc.) We work hard to ensure the most pleasant stay possible. There are mosquito screens on all windows (and under the cabin decking!), but insects can still find ways to creep in. Rainstorms can be quite loud on the metal roof of the cabin. The bath house is a short walk away down a gravel path, which may feel longer in inclement weather. Keep this in mind when booking as we don't refund for insect issues or undesirable weather conditions during your stay. We provide all linens and towels. You will have private access to a rustic outdoor kitchen in the bath house, a 10-second walk from the tent cabin. The kitchen is stocked with a small fridge, 2-burner stove, dishes and flatware, cutting board and knives, olive oil and salt. We also supply a charcoal grill, charcoal, and a lighter. We provide fresh-ground organic coffee and sugar, a French press, and a drip coffee pot. We also provide a fire ring, kindling, and firewood you can use to have a campfire during your stay. A wide variety of staples (including beverages (24 beers on tap!), sandwiches, and breakfast options) is available at Brookton's Market 2 miles down the road. Other things to note There is no Wifi at the cabin or bath house, and cell service is very spotty and somewhat dependent on your carrier. While there is electric service at the kitchen/bath house for charging phones and other devices, the cabin has no electricity. We provide some basic ambient lights and portable solar lanterns, but you may want to bring headlamps. The parking area is about 50-60 yards from the tent. There is a gravel path to walk on.

This former hunting cabin is on a 90-acre property that we are fixing up. It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild land, and involves a hike in on logging trails. Eventually we hope to conserve the land in perpetuity. The land was logged about 25 years ago and has regrown quite a bit. There are beautiful large maple, cherry, pine, and butternut trees, as well as young growth and wildflowers and diverse and abundant fungi. Our land is adjacent to the Finger Lakes Land Trust's King Preserve, so you will be camping in an area with 300 acres of forest and trails. It is also convenient to a diner, gas station, pizza/bar, a playground, fishing stream, and 2 ice cream stores (all walkable from the trailhead). Learn more about this land: This is an extremely rustic hunting cabin about a 15 - 30 minute (depending on hiker) hike up from the small village of Richford, NY. The hike is along old logging roads in the forest, but it's all uphill on the way in. We do not allow vehicle access to guests, but we have a vehicle we can use to deliver potable water (make sure to check with us to make sure we can provide extra water on the dates you need). There is a wood stove (for heat) and propane stove (for cooking). There is a triple decker bunk bed, you need to bring your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag. We have added a picnic table and small fire pit. There is an outhouse and hand washing station (seasonal). Fall leaf peeping is lovely, and as the leaves fall off, there are really nice views of the valley. You will have total privacy here!

Our beautiful 5-acre Sanctuary is surrounded by deep forest, small meadows, hiking trails, and abundant wildlife. Walk the land with appreciation, listen to nature speak, and let the owls calling in the quiet of the night lull you into rest. We are conveniently located just 15 minutes south of Downtown Ithaca, and only 5 minutes from Danby Food and Drink (local eatery and store). Explore many accessible hiking trails and endless woods, including a short walk to The Finger Lakes Trail. Everything at the Sanctuary was hand-built by your host, who lives in a separate dwelling nearby. Our "Tiny Home"/"Cabin" can be described as both rustic and luxurious. It stands alone (not attached to any other structures) and is private. It is a fully finished, one-room studio with beautiful, unique woodwork. There is a cozy, 'treehouse-like' lofted full-sized bed, and a couch below that can open into a bed. There are lots of big windows to let in natural light, fresh air, and beautiful forest views. This cabin has electricity and Wi-Fi included, as well as access to potable well water close by (as long as temperatures are above freezing). This tiny home has NO indoor plumbing. This tiny home has no shower facilities at this time (outdoor shower is pending). There is a private outhouse for your use, a separate structure close by with a composting toilet (basically a bucket with a sawdust system). If this is something that may make you uncomfortable, this space may not be a good fit for you.

This little getaway was a gem. Perfect. Secluded and cozy. I got a little turned around enroute but Andrea responded very quickly and got me back on track. My little Honda Fit reached it without any trouble. I greatly appreciated the battery powered fan and the charger. A welcome surprise. I highly recommend.

This is my second time staying at this cabin. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You're set out in the middle of the woods. There's solar hot water heater (which can get very hot fast) for an open top outdoor shower (very invigorating) and sink for washing dishes etc. Beyond clean and smelling fresh Porta John! They have a nice stack of wood at the cabin to purchase for your bonfire and a woodstove inside the cabin for cooler days/nights. Solar lights outdoor automatic lights and indoor lights along with a battery pack if you need to plug anything in or to charge something.. Just a beautiful, peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors. Will definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Journey's End Farm

What a wonderful weekend on the farm! We experienced the joys of camping in nature, but with some luxuries you won’t find in tent camping. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. We loved that you could walk right out of the cabin to a very large, fully covered deck with a picnic table and a long thin table/bench to prepare food, etc. Right behind the cabin and deck is a peaceful creek that helped us cool down after unpacking all of our belongings. Our daughter loved being able to go searching for the goats and was thrilled with her daily visits from the friendly barn cat, Mousakka. Our host was warm, welcoming and informative, giving us a thorough tour of the farm and answering any questions we had. There were clean bathrooms and hot showers in the building next to us. Cooking and cleaning was easy with the fire pit and outdoor sink. We really couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience and we hope to be back next year!

7 nights at Underhill Forest and Farm

We stayed a full week at the tiny house with our dog. Plenty of rest and relaxation. The house is great, had everything we needed. It was the hottest week of the year, which made the AC extra valuable. We did some hikes at Fillmore and Watkins parks. Plenty of Cider Houses and Wineries. The grounds are large and plenty to do. Our pup loved the pond and went for a few swims. Had to keep her leashes the whole time since she would definitely run after the sheep. But tied her to a long line which allowed her to roam a bit. Rick was super nice and welcoming. There was a strong storm that came through and the electricity went out for a couple hours but not big deal. Overall, we loved the farm and hope to come back with some friends later this season.

Weekend Trip to Cabin Getaway

Andrea was very quick with responding to messages and the directions were very simple. Stone driveway through the field and very nice drive through the woods to get to the cabin. The cabin is very simple but cute. Outdoor sink and shower with solar powered heated water. The water was actually a little on the hot side, which surprised me but there's nothing like showering outdoors with the birds singing and seeing the trees and blue sky! Benches with the stone fire pit, hammock, a few walking paths. She has solar powered lights inside the cabin as well and outdoor light above the deck. They supply wood, but don't forget cash to put in their bucket and your fresh drinking water. This was my first solo trip as a female and the only thing that made me uncomfortable was there is no locks on the cabin doors.. I had my dog with me. She could have very easily nudge the one door handle open and gotten out, and I know I'm not the only one that would have the fear of someone or even a bear coming in through the night with that back door. Saying that, I had a great relaxing time with my dog and I definitely want to go back.

Stunning. We wish we could have stayed longer. Great location, awesome hosts, and a wonderful hipcamp stay. The flushing toilets and hot outdoor showers on rainy days were the real MVP. Other than Miss Feisty of course!

3 nights at What Ever Floats Your Boat

This is a great 'glamping' basecamp for all the area has to offer (which is a lot!) Off grid with a generator for power that is easy to use when needed. Gas stove available for cooking, microwave, toaster, and drip coffee machine. There is some water provided in 5 gallon jugs for washing and drinking. There is also a water cooler that was full providing fresh, cold water for drinking. For just the weekend this was more than enough for myself. Firewood can be provided for $10/bundle or purchased in town. It is illegal to bring wood from out of state due to infestation issues. The outhouse is clean for an outhouse. You could just relax at this site if you wanted listening to the birds and the creek with nearby mini waterfall. It's extremely peaceful. The cabin is close to the road but there are rarely cars. For waterfalls and amazing hikes, Treman State Park and Buttermilk Falls State Park are closer to the camp (15-20mins) and worth the $10 alone. If you go a little further to Watkins Glen State Park (35 mins) you won't be disappointed. Aaron is very responsive and easy to communicate with and has lots of recommendations. Definitely worth staying here, I'm looking forward to returning!

My sisters and I loved the Tiny house at Underhill Farms. It was beautiful to sit on the porch with the pond in front of you. It had a toaster oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, it had heat and air conditioning. It was just beautiful and very private. We barely seen Rick or his family, mostly driving by on his golf cart working around the farm. Thank you Rick for a wonderful end to our vacation.
