Come experience a stay at our Forest Sanctuary, tucked away on the edge of the lush Danby State Forest. A perfect location to stay while exploring the Finger Lakes or simply getting away from the everyday hustle. Our beautiful 5-acre Sanctuary is surrounded by deep forest, small meadows, hiking trails, and abundant wildlife. Walk the land with appreciation, listen to nature speak, and let the owls calling in the quiet of the night lull you into rest. We are conveniently located just 15 minutes south of Downtown Ithaca, and only 5 minutes from Danby Food and Drink (local eatery and store). Explore many accessible hiking trails and endless woods, including a short walk to The Finger Lakes Trail. Everything at the Sanctuary was hand-built by your host, who lives in a separate dwelling nearby. Our "Tiny Home"/"Cabin" can be described as both rustic and luxurious. It stands alone (not attached to any other structures) and is private. It is a fully finished, one-room studio with beautiful, unique woodwork. There is a cozy, 'treehouse-like' lofted full-sized bed, and a couch below that can open into a bed. There are lots of big windows to let in natural light, fresh air, and beautiful forest views. This cabin has electricity and Wi-Fi included, as well as access to potable well water close by (as long as temperatures are above freezing). This tiny home has NO indoor plumbing. This tiny home has no shower facilities at this time (outdoor shower is pending). There is a private outhouse for your use, a separate structure close by with a composting toilet (basically a bucket with a sawdust system).
