The ranch offers 7 different campsites and a Cabin. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a flush toilet in off season and additional Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well.

When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie and Chris the Hosts. They have tons of recommendations, but our favorite was the Indian creek cafe across the river. The areas so great and clean and the host cares about their guests! Would recommend!"

Our 160-acre property is surrounded by about a million acres of National Forest. Our neighborhood is all made of trees, huckleberry bushes and animals. We love it here. It is very remote, peaceful, and functionally sustainable in its focus. The closest neighbor is a Buddhist Hermitage about a mile up the forestry road. Also, supposedly, Sasquatch live here! (it is the epicenter for documented sightings).
Most visitors to the area are interested in spending time in the redwoods – we are about 30-45 minutes from the nearest entrance to Jedediah Smith Park, home of Stout Grove and other beautiful redwood hikes. Driving into Crescent City, about 45-60 minutes, winds you right through the "gentle giants" on your way to or from Redwood National Park.
We are self-sufficient, and sustainable in a relatively primitive set-up, especially after the fire this year. It's mountainous and remote, and we have a community agreement about no smoking (of any kind) on our land.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverfront Camp: 12 Acres
I had the most amazing time at Kae and Alex‘s beautiful retreat. I was working in the area for a few days and it was really hard to leave the site to go to my gigs. I can hardly wait to go back and stay fully immersed. There are so many thoughtful touches to this space and I felt so cozy and relaxed.
The tent is amazing, the water is perfection and the resident dog, River, was my closest companion for the whole trip. He is so sweet and such a good boy and he dutifully followed me around making sure I was safe. Any little sound of a critter rustling in the bushes and he made it known they weren’t welcome and is a true protective sheepdog. As a female solo camper I greatly appreciated his company. He is well trained and never messed with my food, even if I let a delicious plate sit for a couple minutes while I jumped up to grab something.
The hot shower was AWESOME. 💦
The fire pit was great and easily managed with a good bundle of kindling. I don’t recommend bringing large trunks of wood unless you plan on breaking them down on site. It’s best to keep the fire small and low with the metal grate on top, feeding it as necessary for the warm glow & to keep any mosquitoes at bay.
Already planning my next trip to Windy River Ranch.

What a wonderful little oasis, central to so much exploring! Cortney and her family were so accommodating and friendly! Helping us find the best fishing spots, even gifted my husband a lure to use 🥹
The camper seemed brand new! So clean and stocked with everything we could need.
Had a few neighbors but not close enough to feel like a normal campground. Spent many hours in the hammock reading or by a campfire.
Can’t wait to bring our kids back for another adventure!

1 night at Steelhead Camp on the Chetco River
We enjoyed staying in this off-grid cabin for a night while on our road trip. With the right packing, this was a very comfortable and lovely stay. We walked down to the river (which actually wasn’t as close as we assumed) and enjoyed sitting on the deck doing some water coloring.
Some things to pack for a comfortable stay:
- Thick sheet for the bed to put under your sleeping bags
- Battery powered string lights and lanterns
- We opted for charcuterie so we didn’t have to cook.
I will say I think the $30 cleaning fee is a bit steep especially because we arrived to a somewhat smelly bathroom and a toilet filled with pee (we didn’t use the toilet because of this).

The redwoods are my favorite place on earth, and this trip with my son was everything I hoped it would be. We stayed at the campsite recently taken over by Hiram and Cortney, and honestly, this young couple has turned the family business into something special, a place that's actually as beautiful and fun as camping should be, not just on paper.
The site sits literally next to the river, it's spotless, and Hiram and Cortney are always around when you need them without ever being in the way. The trailer itself is sharp and comes stocked with every amenity you could want, including a smart TV, which turned out to be the real MVP after a long day of hiking with a toddler. Cartoons at the end of the day saved us more than once.
The location is unbeatable too, close to Crescent City, Trees of Mystery, and Prairie Creek, with plenty of breakfast spots in Klamath to fuel up before hitting the trails. They also have firewood available to grab for a small fee, which made evenings by the river even easier.
If you work remotely, the WiFi was surprisingly great. And they've got tent sites and RV sites too, with more lodging plans in the works over the next year.
Book now, honestly. It's still super affordable for everything they offer, and this place is going to grow fast. We're already planning our next trip back.

Amazing campsite with beautiful vibes. Everything is beautifully set up and very comfortable. There is a heater in the tent for if it’s cold, firewood provided, and coffee materials for the morning! Only note is that there is a nearby rooster that was quite loud in the early morning. Other than that though, we had a wonderful time and it was a great glamping experience!

Had such a wonderful time/experience visiting Hanya's farm. Was welcomed by Dar the Camp Host and friends. They cooked me dinner unprompted and was served hot mashed potatoes, rice, chicken, black beans, homemade bread, and fresh corn on the cob. Felt like i was part of the family and back at summer camp. The site itself was beautiful and warm with free range sheep (wan&others), chicken and ducks wandering out the camp sites. Feel free to pick any fruits or veggies around their farm land for a fresh salad. Amenities included hot showers both indoor and outdoor.

3 nights at Redwood Retreat
The treehouse was lovely and the pictures are what to expect. The property is well kept and welcoming. The grove is in the middle of a suburban neighborhood in north crescent city. Unfortunately, it wasn't as secluded as I had imagined. There are several neighbors with farm animals, a particular barking dog and lots of children. Ear plugs were a must for me to get sleep.
The sound of birds in the morning and the presence of banana slugs were pleasant :) Watch your steps!

Overall the space is nice, a couple of cons are minor but a lovely spot.
Something’s that can improve
1. Netting , the mainframes get hot during the summer but there wasp near by that made it hard to leave the side door open.
2. The bed itself was fine but was tucked under a shelf which made it hard to sleep. The beds are also on the smaller side, if you are 5’9 or taller you might not fit.
The showers were nice but the curtains are worn and can’t stay closed.
Other than that everything eles was great the river and the tea house! Definitely would recommend but always have some minor improvements to make this gem keep shining!

We just loved this place!! It is so magical! My 7 year old is sure fairies live there 🧚 Jacob has really cultivated a wonderful and peaceful spot and put so much thought and craftsmanship into it! Having a private swimming spot to ourselves on the river was such a joy, and the cabin itself was a dream. Our every need was met, showering outside was amazing, the porch view with the sound of the river and the crickets and the stars are something I’ll take with me forever. My dad and daughter stayed in the cabin and I pitched a tent out back. It was the perfect set up. Close to redwood national and state parks, too. We loved it and hope to be back soon!!

What a cute little campground in the heart of Redwood area! We stayed in one of their RVs (Little Foot) for a couple nights. It was clean, well appointed and the site was nice. It was a little more shady than some of the other RV sites. The grounds are maintained nicely and hosts are super friendly. Laundry on site was really nice.

Paris Beach Campground was full when I was there as you would expect in August, but it's a great campground if you can reserve a spot or get in by chance. I have camp there before. The day use area is adjacent to the campsite and is open to the public. It's a great beach to walk to and the loop drive takes you right down to Just above the beach. It's always a great place to watch the sunset, or check out some of the trails in Harris Beach State Park that will alternatively take you through open beaches, Rocky tide pool zones, and spruce trees. It's a beautiful place.

Take a stroll out to the tide pools at low tide to hunt for critters in the rocks and keep your eyes peeled for the bobbing heads of seals out to sea.
The showers at this campground are wonderful (compared to your average campground) so go for it and indulge if you so decide. The sites that face the road have easier access to the cliff views but the inner sites tend to be a bit more shady.

Another beautiful gym created by Oregon! This place is truly Amazing! Breath taking views of the rugged coastline with the powerful sounds of giant waves crashing into large jagged rocks. This place is one reason why I miss Oregon.

Massive, popular yet pleasant campground with incredible proximity to the beach and wonderful views and shoreside trails. Family friendly, friendly staff, clean and quiet (for a place of its size). There are some really killer campsites here that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of privacy, setting, and proximity to ocean views. I hope to return soon and write down which ones struck my fancy.

Very well maintained. Gets a lot of day use, but quite peaceful at night. The tent sites are sort of segregated from RV sites, and have nice old school CCC-like masonry work.

If you don't like the noise of children on a playground, avoid the camp sites that surround the playground. It can get SUPER noisy! Spots with best ocean view are A10-A24 (even numbered sites). C1 also has a view. A1, A2, A4, A6 get lots of nice sun!

This campground can get busy with families on weekends so try and go during mid-week. Great hot showers with good water pressure and they are FREE! Also, each shower is its own little room so you don't have to share with anyone. Nice and private!
