My partner and I loved this cute cabin , right next to Lake Erie! It’s a great size, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed for the start of our cross country trip back home , including a buddy heater for the cold night. Thank you so much for the extra blankets too! We were perfectly snug. We wish we could have spent another night. We got gluten free pizza at Villaggio Italiano, which is right down the road — it was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

The only thing I wish was the electric was a little bit more heavy duty; but we had no problems. This weeks sightings have included Barred Owl , Pilated Woodpecker , Black Bear ,Red fox, Wild Turkeys , kestrel and deer with red wing blackbirds hitching a ride on back ! We have a network of trails for walking, enjoying nature and viewing wildlife . We offer many different options for camping, from tent sites nestled in the woods to RV sites with electric hook-ups (electric site reservations are to be made on that specific listing and are limited). We allow pets, all dogs must on a leash 6ft or shorter in length and held by an adult, there is a $20/stay pet fee for pets that can be paid prior to arrival. Beach/Swimming Rules: Two adults 18 or over are required to supervise when there are children swimming. (Even if only one child is present.) No swimming outside of the designated/roped swim area. No watercraft allowed anywhere in the pond. Do not use soap in the water, we have showers! No alcohol, no glass or open containers. On-site Phone is for Emergencies only (located in the beach hut to the left of the beach area). Creating a reservation is your agreement with this rule. How’s that for a pedigree? The swimming might not be great but there's plenty to do at the shallowest of the Great Lakes. It’s a great place to picnic, watch the migratory birds, fish, and lounge on the beach. Take a canoe or a kayak out on the lake. Take advantage of the winter snow to go cross-country skiing. There’s even a disc golf course called Shipwreck Bluff Disc Golf Course. Forgot your putter at home? You can pick up a spare from the visitor center. 

In addition to the 97 campsites (tent & RV), there are 10 cabins in this 355-acre campground, with plenty of views of bluffs and protected water to go around. People rave about the sunsets here. Since the sites are lakeside, you can watch from the comfort of your camp chair. 

Once you’ve had your fill of lake life, head over to Niagara Falls. It’s just a short drive down the road.

Lake Erie State Park Campground
This campground is FANTASTIC! When you think State Park there is almost always a compromise, but not here. We stayed on site A23 for a week in mid-July. The campground was busy, but not over-crowded. The campground itself is well maintained and the shower houses are clean. There are tent and RV sites available, with 15/30/50 amp electric service. The water hookups are NOT at each site, but there is one CLOSE to each site, so you can run your house over, fill your tank, and disconnect. The playgrounds and picnic shelters (multiple of each) are in great condition and the views are EPIC! The staff working the office were kind and helpful, and the park ranger Tom stopped by to ask how our visit was. The campground is a GREAT jumping off point for the local area and all the conveniences you could need are within 15 minutes. We will be back again!

Lake Erie SP Campground is a relaxed, family friendly campground on the shore of the lake. There is only a very small rocky beach here. If you're looking for a campground with a sandy beach, I'd recommend Evangola State Park to the east. The campground itself has a good mix of open (good for solar, Starlink) and shaded campsites. All sites lack privacy so I would not sweat site selection. I was able to book a site last-minute about 2-weeks before my trip in mid-may (Still early in the camping season, likely a different story come peak summer!)

Lake Erie State Park Campground
Busy campground, but campsites are big, albeit totally exposed. Showers and bathrooms are decent, though I've seen better showers. Many of the sites have no trees to hang a tarp, especially over the cooking area, and I got poured on in August so definitely come prepared if you have a free-standing shelter you'll want to bring it along if there's any chance of rain. Has a big playground and there were lots of families so probably a great place to bring the kids.
