The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Bug spray is recommended. Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping. The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. An outhouse compost toilet is available (bring your own TP). No showers or dump stations. Please do not dump grey/black water anywhere on the property. We allow small RVs, vans, and trailers under 24 ft. No 5th wheels. 4WD is recommended but not required. Garden carts are available, upon request, to haul gear if needed. Important to Know: No pets (we’re a working farm with chickens and farm dogs). Fires allowed only in designated pit. Bring firewood (or purchase from us) and always follow fire bans. My 8-acre property used to be a hay field. The farm is long gone and I've been reclaiming the open meadow for a few years now. I only mow once a year in order to leave flowers and grasses for the birds and insects, including the honey bees and monarch butterflies who love the milkweed, goldenrod, asters and other wild flowers that grow here. I keep just a few narrow paths and the campsite mowed, You will be sharing your site with the wild world, including the owls who live here. Bears are not infrequent visitors and food should be carefully kept out of your tent and preferably locked in your vehicle with the windows up. I have a small house on the property and keep to myself at the other end of the open field from where your campsite is. I am available if you have a problem or need help with something, but you are on your own otherwise! Because my house is beyond your parking area, I do drive by going about my own business, but I can't see your campsite from my house unless I stand in my upstairs loft and look out the window at the other side of the house. I usually only do that so I can see if your vehicle is here or not. Learn more about this land: Pitch a tent or two on the flat grassy edge of my meadow and enjoy the proximity to town and all the outdoor sports the White Mountains offer. There is afternoon shade over the site. This is a primitive site - no electricity, no running water, no security lights, and no covered pad. There is a picnic table, a fire pit suitable for cooking over, and a clean wooden outhouse. It's very private and although my house is nearby, I'm happy to just leave you alone. I sell bundles of firewood, but you can bring your own, if you want. Please just don't bring any wood in from outside this immediate area - I don't want any new non-native insects being brought in.

Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living. "What should I expect my experience to be like?" Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property. Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property. Out back  features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. Simply the best tenting you can find in the White Mountains. The campground to get away from campgrounds, where magic touches every corner. Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. My 8-acre property used to be a hay field. The farm is long gone and I've been reclaiming the open meadow for a few years now. I only mow once a year in order to leave flowers and grasses for the birds and insects, including the honey bees and monarch butterflies who love the milkweed, goldenrod, asters and other wild flowers that grow here. I keep just a few narrow paths and the campsite mowed, You will be sharing your site with the wild world, including the owls who live here. Bears are not infrequent visitors and food should be carefully kept out of your tent and preferably locked in your vehicle with the windows up. I have a small house on the property and keep to myself at the other end of the open field from where your campsite is. I am available if you have a problem or need help with something, but you are on your own otherwise! Because my house is beyond your parking area, I do drive by going about my own business, but I can't see your campsite from my house unless I stand in my upstairs loft and look out the window at the other side of the house. I usually only do that so I can see if your vehicle is here or not. Learn more about this land: Pitch a tent or two on the flat grassy edge of my meadow and enjoy the proximity to town and all the outdoor sports the White Mountains offer. There is afternoon shade over the site. This is a primitive site - no electricity, no running water, no security lights, and no covered pad. There is a picnic table, a fire pit suitable for cooking over, and a clean wooden outhouse. It's very private and although my house is nearby, I'm happy to just leave you alone. I sell bundles of firewood, but you can bring your own, if you want. Please just don't bring any wood in from outside this immediate area - I don't want any new non-native insects being brought in.

For an even more immersive nature experience, The Orchard on Apple Hill road is ready for your tent or hammock, along with an outdoor kitchen, two hot showers and compost toilets, picnic tables and firepit, and propane cooking burners. My friend and I had such a lovely time! Our host Ryan was beyond helpful and kind to make sure our stay went well. The site was well maintained and easy to find. We also had a great open sky to stargaze and fresh snow in the morning which made our experience so much more fun. This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was a wonderful first impression!

Best site I've ever stayed at! Good amount of space between sites but still an easy walk to the kitchen+water, outhouses were clean and convenient with an excellent sense of interior decoration! We stayed at Birch Grove on a particularly cold, rainy, and windy Halloween weekend and Nick already had a large tarp set up over the easiest tent spot.... plus a cow skull and a few candles for the ambiance. Excellent vibes 👌

Incredible site with multiple pitches spread out around the land. We were lucky enough to be put on the beat site...on site 7 (despite booking the field site). What a view and great facilities. Fit pit with grill for cooking whilst watching the stars and white mountains. Camp cooking kitchen and shower near the main house. Fire wood for sale. Compost toilet at each site. The only problem was we wished we could have stayed longer! Look out for the friendly moose and check out the little boat on the pond. Fab site 10/10.

I loved camping on Lori's land. All the glamping tents are very private, and you have to walk about 100 yards from the car, so there is no noise at all. The outhouse was super clean and so cool inside. The bed in the tent was very comfortable and had enough room for the dog as well. The land is beautiful with North Conway only a 30 min drive for great food and coffee! I highly recommend this Hip Camp!

We stayed in the yurt for a weekend and loved it! Bed was comfy and thought the woodstove wasn't working, the space heater kept us cozy. Morgan and Rush were excellent hosts, answered all our questions graciously and made us very welcome. The woodfired hot tub was glorious. Hope we can visit again someday!

Nick is a terrific host and it's obvious that this hipcamp is a labor of love. Kudos to Nick for preserving this beautiful property for generations to enjoy especially in the face of constant development and expansion northward. It truly is a sanctuary. Big circular drive with lots of space. I like it. Ryan was quick to respond and he checked in to make sure all was well. Little details are welcoming, like lights, toilet stall, picnic table, and fire ring. Statewide fire ban while I was there. The highway is close but the noise wasn’t too bad for me. I fly fished the river but did have to drive for public river access.

We had a wonderful stay at Hidden Pines! Chris and Ellen were incredibly accommodating — they communicated clearly, respected our privacy, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. The hookups worked perfectly — clean water with great pressure, and everything was easy to access and set up. The location is absolutely beautiful, tucked into the woods yet close to everything in the White Mountains. The site was level, peaceful, and ideal for our camper. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

A Frame to Rest In - a newer addition which is a tiny A-Frame structure close to, but separate, from the Fireplace site and shares a driveway. 3.) Easy Come Easy Go - right off 302 and has a circular gravel driveway easy for RV pull-in with a picnic table and fire ring. --------------------------------------------- Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping. Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores. If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests! Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking. We live one town over and are just a phone call away. If you walk the trails, you may encounter a friendly neighbor's dog but all our guests enjoy the privacy and solitude the mountain provides. Bug spray is recommended. Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping. The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. We’re near the Heritage Trail and right on the Cross New Hampshire Adventure Trail route—great for bikers and hikers. We intentionally keep the area wild and unmowed to support native species and maintain the natural beauty of the land. This is a very rustic, off-grid campsite—best for those who appreciate nature and are prepared to rough it. There are no hookups, electricity, or potable water. An outhouse compost toilet is available (bring your own TP). No showers or dump stations. Please do not dump grey/black water anywhere on the property. We allow small RVs, vans, and trailers under 24 ft. No 5th wheels. 4WD is recommended but not required. Garden carts are available, upon request, to haul gear if needed. Important to Know: No pets (we’re a working farm with chickens and farm dogs). Fires allowed only in designated pit. Bring firewood (or purchase from us) and always follow fire bans. Pack out your trash (small bin next to outhouse provided for cans/bottles). No cutting trees or using the large bonfire pile in the center of the field. About

In the heart of the White Mountain National Forest, between the Twin and Bartlett Mountains, lies Crawford Notch State Park. Spread out over nearly 6,000 acres, it’s crisscrossed by a network of trails that lead hikers to a variety of waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and boulder-strewn swimming holes. Fishing and swimming are both possible in the misleadingly named Dry River and, if you’re hankering for a bit of ghostly history, you can also pay a visit to the Willey House, site of an 1826 landslide that claimed the lives of nine homesteaders. Camping is confined to Dry River Campground, which is open from late April through late October and has 36 wooded sites. 

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations must be made one day ahead of arrival during the main season. In early spring and late fall, sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone, up to 11 months in advance.
  3. Be sure of your dates before booking. A steep cancellation fee is charged for cancellations made less than six days prior to arrival (on top of a non-refundable reservation fee).

When to go

Summer is the busiest season at Crawford Notch, with many visitors arriving to cool off in the river. If visiting in summer, it’s a good idea to make camping reservations well in advance, especially for weekends and holidays. Fall offers spectacular scenery as the leaves turn and is ideal for hiking. Winter also has plenty of appeal, as the hiking trails transform into snowshoeing or cross-country skiing trails.

Know before you go

  • There is a fee to enter the park. In the off season, when the entrance is unstaffed, use the self-service iron ranger.
  • You’ll find well-stocked grocery stores within a 30-minute drive in Barlett and North Conway.
