At Grateful Acres we aim to make your stay with us, as enjoyable as possible. The two sites sit on 3 beautiful, quiet acres in Northern Michigan. Site #1 is flat, open, and spacious, while site #2 is a bit more enclosed and private tucked into the trees. Unfortunately our Camp 437 is located in one of the affected counties and was greatly impacted by the storm. Jeannie & I loved Phil & Stormy's Place. It was quiet this time of year, and we were lucky to be the only folks at their Camp. They definitely had made it their own, and have great amenities. Firewood & Firepit, 30 amp service, a water hose , picnic table & dry kindling.. 2 Porta Potties on site, and a RV cleanout. Great Wooden games around the site for folks enjoyment. Phil is a world renown Game maker who makes Games and interesting items, which he makes in his shop on site. Sends it all around the world. Besides meeting Phil and Chit chatting, because we are both Hip Camp Hosts, Phil gave us a tour of his Shop and woodworking area. Pretty impressive. He was a great host, and is Passionate about Kubb, a Yard game that was originally played overseas, but because of Phi, brought the game to the US. He actually has his own playing field. We plan on visiting again, as we loved the vibe

You truly are sitting lakefront. I sat on a couple of boulders and just watched the waves. So incredibly peaceful. Instructions were clear and directions were easy to follow. One thing I will note is that you truly are rural - there is a grocery store and a few food options, but it's limited. Of you are an early riser, know that many of the food establishments open later. The site is absolutely gorgeous. I simply could not have asked for a better experience.

Phil's done a fabulous job of setting his site up. The amenities were easy to find and hook up to. It was wonderful to have wood, and fire starter available at the site. The yard games looked interesting, but we didn't have a chance to try them out. I really liked the laminated information sheets. The list of things to do in the area was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Hopefully, we'll have a chance to check out a few of those ideas next time we're there. All around, it was a wonderful experience!

Weekend Trip to Just Show Up Camping

I loved the view! Granted it was very windy the day I stayed there so that’s something to consider since your by lake. Very easy to get to the site and overall pretty clean. Had some clutter here and there but not a big deal. My only major critique is one, maybe put stone down on the path to the beach because it had really deep ruts and it was very muddy. I got my car stuck quite a few times. The other is the shower water did not really get warm. Again, not the end of the world but addressing those few things would make the site even better than it already is. Overall I’d give it an 8/10

The views of Lake Huron and Strawberry Island are absolutely beautiful and make this spot even more special. The host was outstanding—friendly, responsive, and an excellent communicator. Everything exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

This place was awesome! We were able to park right where we could see the boats coming from the Soo Locks. We hooked up to the electric and filled jugs at the water spicket provided. We did not hook up our water. We only saw one area for water. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The little market down the road wasn’t expensive. We even bought tortillas there!

Heather was very accommodating and the campsite was AWESOME!!! The site was easy to drive into and turn around. It was flat, nicely mowed grass and a fabulous view to watch the ships go by.

We (39') are parallel to the road facing the electrical connections, grill, and campfire.

Weekend Trip to Mackinaw Camp Inn

Perfect spot to explore the area, just 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and the bridge, Todd was very accommodating, allowing 2 RV’s to stay. 45’ truck/trailer(need to back in-no issues) and. 25’ Class C. Site has power (50/30/20) and very nicely fixed up just like your backyard deck. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to return to after a day of exploring.

Phil has a very nice little setup on his property. The sites are nice and the shower is nice. I highly recommend staying there if you don't like high volume campgrounds and just want peace and quiet.

Straits Campground

We really don’t have anything to add to the other excellent reviews. Responsive, friendly, helpful host. Impeccable directions to get there and find our site. Awesome little private campground, full of nice touches (free firewood and a sealed tote of dry kindling, garbage can, picnic table with umbrella, raised fire ring with grate, potties and shower, and fun looking yard games which we sadly did not have time for). Very clean and tidy, even though the area recently had horrible ice storms. Oh, and electric and water hookups! Sewer dump on site as well. We only used it as a sleepover spot while traveling, but we would definitely go back there to stay if we make it back to visit the area. It’s also only a few minutes from hwy 75 for convenience.

Straits Campground

Great lakeside location just over the Mackinac bridge and less than 5 minutes from St Ignace. Camped here for a night on our way to Taquemenon Falls on a summer Thursday and enjoyed our stay. Sites were nicely spaced even with 2 cars on one site. 2 picnic tables and a fire pit per site. They were set up in a loop with the bathrooms in the middle. There are a few 1 bedroom cabins available as well.
