In 1831 formerly Northern's Mill had an old mill house, dwelling house, outbuildings, mill pond and water courses with about 31 acres and was bought for an enormous amount of $10.00! At the working mill the owner's wife baked pies for the workers to enjoy while they waited for their ground grains (most likely corn, soybeans and wheat). The pond is also recognized as Courtney Mill Pond and Kissinger Mill Pond. Fires in the 1980's have claimed the building creating a perfect place for you to enjoy nature outside. Learn more about this land: Fresh and salt water surrounds a birding, fishing paradise with 5 acres to explore. Bald Eagles are a common siting. We offer a primitive camping experience in the heart of the Northern Neck.  The road is washed out and fresh water pond mostly drained. You will access from Mundy Point Road. This historical site had a working Mill built in the early 1800's. Please check out my friend's place nearby at Callao Brewery and Rivah Vineyards at the Grove!  Grab some fresh local veggies from one of the Amish stands and don't forget your tackle and bait at RW's. Camp 1 has the most room for car camping and groups close to the road and overlooking the pond. Camp 2 is a short hike to a private knoll overlooking the grassy marsh of Mill Creek, this is tidal water that flows to the Potomac. Welcome to Gratitude!

Tyler Cove public boat ramp is less than 1 mile away for convenient watercraft launching, plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers. The Hoopers Island General Store is next door with dine-in or carry out food, groceries, deli, hardware & tools, fishing tackle, bait and boating needs, apparel and full variety of beer, wine and liquor. Old Saltys Restaurant is 1.5 miles away and are currently open Wednesday through Sunday serving local seafood dinners and have an outside seasonal Tiki Bar open on the weekends with live music most Saturdays. Gootee's Marine & Fishing Charters is 6.8 miles away with a full marine mechanic staff and several charter boats for local fishing trips and Light House Tour charters. Another amazing trip to Patty’s . This is our favorite Hipcamp spot. Always beautiful relaxing and so much wildlife we absolutely love it. Everything you could possibly need at site . This year there are a few new restaurants within a walk or bike ride distance. Patty is always very responsive to any thing you need.,

Suzette and her husband were friendly and very helpful. Their site was shady and quiet and on a separate drive away from the hosts' house. The 30 Amp hookup was well placed and worked without a hitch. While they were up-front about water you have to be prepared and fill up your fresh water tank before arrival. They can (and did) assist with getting water from their outside spigot if and when you need it, but they did not have a hose long enough to get down to the camper site so you have to bring your camper to the spigot.

Incredible views and total tranquility! We stayed in Site #4, which had a perfect, unobstructed view of the sunsets. It’s a great area to explore with a restaurant and tiki bar just down the road. Note: Site #4 is not full hookup—it has sewer access but not a dedicated port like Sites 1-3. We'll definitely stay here again!

Judi and Berry are kind and generous hosts, and their property is beautiful! I was so grateful to enjoy gorgeous sunsets from their quiet campsite rather than endure a chaotic Labor Day weekend in a packed RV park. I was provided a level concrete pad with electric (50/30A and 120V), water, and a view of the harbor. I was also able to use Judi and Berry's pier with a cute tiki hut, picnic table, and chairs surrounding a firepit. Frequent guests included a family of ducks, a family of swans, a heron, and an osprey. I had a great weekend!

Expectation is your own responsibility. I was under the impression that our camp will be surrounded by water left and right and this is not the case, your camp will be primitive style in the woods (no breeze). - Gated fence, nice people at the camp office - Each camp site has its gravel lot, fire grill, and a wooden pole for hanging stuff - Clean shower/ bath rooms - Water spigots all around - 3 small fishing piers inside that close at 10 - The kitchen sink room is overrun by bugs and moths of all shapes and sizes Nearby: - Nice, big park on the Potomac. Water is warm. Full of people (most with loud speakers) and a very busy shower room - Beautiful secluded "dog beaches" on the Chesapeake with much cooler water - Long pier
