The cabin and decks are private and off-limits to guests. The Island Shores Community Beach (with a boat launch ramp, just north of the house on the beach) is also private and not for camper use. Please note, this is HARSTINE ISLAND, NOT HERRON. I haven't gotten Hipcamp to fix this yet. There is a bridge to the island and the coordinates offered for site are correct. The map says beach shore Rd but the physical sign says Klondike. Very clean commercially maintained outhouse now available! Beautiful peaceful forest with trails, a great spot for elopements (elopement package separate) and a beautiful meadow with a small ringed fire pit for one site and a movable fire pit for another.. 2 meadow sites in 5 acres, a forested tent sight coming. 70% of the Island is forestry but sound DOES carry a long way so it's not dead-quiet. Harstine Island has a BRIDGE, no ferry! One hammock is left up in the forest and there are places for your hammocks to be hung, as well. There is one spot on drive that is between two trees so you need to go slowly and be careful, 9 foot wide at wheel base only. Please take note of this. Easy for cars, a bit tricky for some trailer/RVs. Photo and video can be seen on webpage. Types of wildlife include barred owls, a nighthawk usually in summer can be seen at dusk, western alligator lizards, warblers, robins, crows, wrens, a bear has visited before (lucky me heard it 'woof' at me, bear didn't appreciate my singing), deer, others have seen red fox in the past but we have not been so lucky. Birder's paradise. One lovely review calls it a great place for forest bathing! Puget sound is SO clean here with a diverse salt water life. Orca and Humpback have been spotted nearby. You can track them at Orca Network or Puget Sound Whale Sightings on Facebook. Frequently people have seen orca making rounds with the incoming tide going under the bridge and circling the island! There is Jarrell Cove state park and a boat ramp at Latimer's Landing Boat Launch few miles way. There is a great local market at the community center Saturdays from 10-12 in the summer. No water view, this is heavy forest off a gravel drive into privacy. No power, no water, pack it in pack it out. Please be careful of deer when you are driving in and observe island speed limits. Familiarize yourself with the personal fire extinguisher at the site.

The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to two RV sites, there may be farm visitors walking around the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning it into a small lavender farm. About half of the original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender. Learn more about this land: One acre pasture for dry RV camping (no restroom facilities). There is a potable water/hose bib and an auxilliary 110 volt 15 amp AC connection via extension cord from barn. You should rely primarily on your own power. Walking trails are in cedar trees and on hill across 10 acres with flower fields and blackberry "farm". Free blackberry picking in season (August and Early September). Deer, racoons, foxes, bald eagles and occassional coyote on site. Keep food and trash secure. No toilet or sewer available. There is one portable "porta potty" type facility. Dry camping only, no camp fires allowed due to fire conditions. Pack out own trash/garbage. No Pets allowed. Only visible neighbors are three horses on neigboring 10 acre farm property. There is Wi-Fi. Beach access has been closed.

This special place has sweeping views, including a stunning shot of Mount Rainier on clear days. Surrounded by forested land including a park preserve, the land is usually quiet and fairly private. A great place to watch birds, access multiple park trails by foot, or just enjoy being outside in nature. If you plan to bring a dog, do check which trails do and don't allow four-footed friends. There are old fruit trees on the land that give plentiful fruit (most years) starting in August, and depending on the time of year you'll also find blackberries, huckleberries and salal berries. (Do watch for sporadic spots of poison oak but they are few and far between.) Plenty of spots to set up tents, as well as two van-designated camping spots separate and not in eye-shot from tent-camping meadow. Serving all is an outdoor/covered low-tech compost toilet tucked into the trees a couple minutes walk from the meadow. There is also a spigot near the parking area with hose where you can rinse off dishes, gear etc. If you'd like to drink this water, we recommend filtering it first. A public swimming hole on Lake Florence is a short drive away, along with beaches. Check back with us in the future as well, because we have big plans for additional amenities.

One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. This cozy cottage is equipped with a queen size bed in a lovely sleeping loft, a small but useful kitchen, a large trex deck with patio furniture, a comfy couch and small dining table. The separate, but luxurious, bath house has a full sized shower, sink, and fully plumbed flushing toilet. There is even a small stacked washer and dryer available. Laundry soap available for purchase. Name brand (no dollar store stuff here) shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. A cozy heater keeps the tiny house warm on cool days, but there is no air conditioning. The shady woods stay nice and cool, and there are lots of screened windows to let in the breeze. The sleeping loft also has two screened windows and a fan if the nights are warm. The bed has 100% cotton sheets, pillow cases, and blanket. As well as a comfy coverlet. A feather alternative duvet is available for colder nights. My port-a-potty was destroyed in a storm so THERE IS NO BATHROOM AVAILABLE. American Lake and Spanaway Lake (and their parks with playgrounds) for swimming and paddle boarding are both just 5 mins away! The owner lives on site, as well as several horses, sheep, and a dog. Large stone fire pit with chairs near house is available for camper use. RV dry camping anywhere outside horse areas. For RVs needing dedicated electrical/water hookup, there are specific sites closer to the house. ***If you are travelling with more than one vehicle, please purchase an car extra parking spot.*** Only four 30amp RV spots are available and are most easily accessible for RVs under 30'. Standard 110volt outlets can also be available for RV use. Certain breed restrictions - no pit bulls, chows, or other potentially aggressive breeds allowed on property per my insurance. ***No RVs, campers or trailers older than 2015 model, or unsightly as per owners discretion. No vehicles, RVs, or trailers needing work or repairs.**** Woodbrook Hunt Club, the oldest fox hunting club west of the Mississippi, is a neighbor so lots of horseback riding goes on in the neighborhood. Great space and friendly hosts! Enjoyed staying on their property and getting to use their awesome and inviting set up. The outdoor shower and sauna were a nice end to the trip and the fire to cook on! In a truck camper and worked great in the space with a few levelers to assist. Would definitely return here.

My friends and I stayed at the Deck Site for our annual camping trip, and everyone loved it. While it's intended for an RV, it was the perfect site to accommodate 7 of us sleeping amongst 2 cars and 3 tents. The site is surrounded by trees and brush making it feel pretty private. You can see the other sites from a distance, but they're spread out enough for sound not to travel too well. The trees in at the front of the site also offer the perfect setup for multiple hammocks. The deck was also nice to have, and it was really great having the patio furniture as it created a little "living room" feel. The shower was probably one of the nicest outdoor showers I've used. It was super easy to use and got hot really quickly. After seeing the hosts check the hot tub and chemical levels/pH every day, I felt confident trying it out. It was so nice and relaxing, and I almost fell asleep it was so peaceful. Also, the hosts have a closet at the shower structure full of extra supplies like extension cords that were super handy, and even a bunch of games and fun things. Finally, the Henderson Inlet deserves a shoutout for being so beautiful. I took my paddle board, and I'm really grateful that I did. I got out on the water every day I was there, and when the tide is high, it's super easy to launch and not really muddy at all like I was expecting. We got to see the full sturgeon moon here, and it was even more beautiful reflected off the water.

We had a fantastic 2-night stay at Huckleberry Heaven! John was an incredibly communicative, helpful, and welcoming host from the moment we booked. He provided clear, detailed directions to the property, which made finding the secluded spot and navigating the private gravel roads very easy. The campsite itself is beautiful, shaded, and felt wonderfully private. John went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, setting up a metal table and chairs, leaving the screened porch lights on for us, and providing a wheelbarrow full of firewood (with a tip jar for his daughter). The amenities were great for a camp setup. The outdoor shower was awesome, and having access to a bathhouse, potable water hydrants, a sink, and electricity at the camp made the stay very comfortable. John was also highly responsive to our questions about fire safety and which fire pit to use.It is a peaceful, rustic property completely surrounded by beautiful nature. John was a lovely host who checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. We highly recommend this spot if you are looking for a nice, quiet getaway in Longbranch!

We had a wonderful stay at Jake and Molly’s Stargazer tent. It was clean, comfortable, and we loved falling asleep while looking at the sky. They thought of everything, with a charging station, power banks, showers, a great hand washing station. Their property is stunning, right by the water. We were just staying the night but could have easily stayed longer if we weren’t rushing to get home.

We had a great time at Jake and Molly's place. beautiful spot lots of wildlife and scenery. We have a 25 ft. trailer and a 21 ft. tundra so going in was a little concered about the steep winding driveway but put it in 4 wheel drive and got out easy , didn't even spin a tire.

Jake and Molly’s land was a wonderful place to camp. The property felt peaceful, private, and well cared for, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy being outdoors. We had actually stayed here last year and were excited to come back again, which probably says the most about how much we enjoyed it. Jake and Molly were welcoming and easy to communicate with, and everything about the stay felt relaxed and straightforward. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a quiet camping experience away from crowded campgrounds, while still feeling comfortable and welcome on the property. We’d happily stay here again.

The private security gate with a key code access was wonderful because I could come and go as I pleased and was sometimes out latewith family. Further, the host was very accommodating to let me check out late on Sunday so I could go to church with my family.

The plan was to camp with friends with a small child. She would have loved the huge play structure that eventually lit up at night. Unfortunately our friends got sick. John was super flexible and communicative while in the midst of a wedding offsite. We were grateful for the WiFi that let us arrive early and complete our final meetings for the day. While the site is a huge field primed for football or frisbee and star gazing, we were grateful for the campsite nestled in the trees. We’re used to rustic campsites so having a sink with potable running water was a nice touch. John’s site was fully equipped for a cozy campfire but that week a complete burn ban had been ordered, so no s’mores were prepared. We enjoyed exploring the parks nearby with access to the Sound. This time round we didn’t take advantage of the SUPs or kayaks that John made available for getting out on the water. The most glorious luxury of our stay was the new bathroom/shower structure. The outdoor shower was such a fun addition. We felt safe and secure behind the security gate. At night we were serenaded by the coyotes. It was nice to experience a little extra comfort and see a different part of the area. The only reason we wouldn’t return is because we’re off to discover other beautiful parts of our state.
