We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. Fern Yabin (a hard sided yurt) is nestled in a forest on a ridge (Elk Ridge) directly across from the Maryland Appalachian Trail. We are tucked down in a holler surrounded by streams, towering Poplars, wildlife and dappled sunshine. The land hosts some animals - a goat, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks while growing medicinal plants, seasonal edible berries/fruits (wineberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, mulberries, elderberries, vine kiwi, pawpaw, etc.) and rocks (plenty of them). There is a couple of acres enclosed with an electric fence where the livestock guardian dog (Luna) roams with the animals. We also sell farm fresh eggs. Fern Yabin is a rustic hard sided yurt style cabin that has hot and cold water, composting toilet, outdoor shower (cold water only), a indoor soaking tub, hot water kettle, an outdoor propane grill, ceiling fan, outdoor patio and fire pit, skylight, WiFi, and lots of character. The Yabin was a true labor of love built as a collective effort in community. There is a designated parking spot and a gravel path (moderate decline) that leads down to the Yabin. If you are a thru hiker, drop off and pick up is available for a fee. Please inquire upon booking. We are 10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail (Weverton Cliffs/Gathland SP and Crampton Gap) and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers (great for tubing/kayaking/wading/swimming). There are outdoor outfitters within 15 minutes where all kinds of wonderful adventures await including a brewery with a stunning vista of the river and area. We are 15 minutes away from historic Harpers Ferry. Antietam National Battlefield and other historic sites are within 30 minutes. For amazing dining opportunities and small city life - Frederick, MD, Boonsboro, MD, Brunswick, MD, Shepherdstown, WV and Charles Town, WV are about a 30 min drive. We are also close to several state parks in the tri state area (MD, VA, WV). Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

We loved the yurt! It was very clean and had everything we needed. The fire pit was a perfect set up. During the day, we went on a nearby hike at Cederville state park, which was perfect since there is limited shade at the campsite. I’d recommend bringing an extra sunshade since there is only one umbrella at the table and has limited mobility. We definitely plan to return.

I’m so happy I found this place! The tent was clean and very comfortable, and the private composting toilet was a huge plus. This was the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the scenery. Also near some awesome, pet-friendly local breweries- specifically Bald Top and Blue Quartz. Host was super friendly and accommodating, but also gave us our privacy. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Fern Yabin @ Tend to Me Retreat

We had such an incredible time staying at the Fern Yabin! We saw dozens of butterflies and lightning bugs thanks to the beautiful forest around the yurt. Andrea was an incredible host offering lots of great intel about the area and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and we hope to be back again!

Glamping here was incredible! We picked one of the yurts to stay in for our last few days in Virginia and it was delightful. Very clean and professionally kept. We had the pleasure of running into Sean as well and he was a fantastic host. Lots of great hikes nearby as well! Overall, would highly recommend.

1 night at South River Farm Campground

Great location on the river and only 10 minutes to Front Royal. The showers are new, clean, and hot. The yurt was comfortable and had everything we needed for a night. We had yurt A that was at the end of the group and angled down river making it a bit more private. All campers were quiet at night and considerate. I'd stay there again.

Weekend Trip to Pathfinder Farm Distillery RV Stay

Where do I even begin! Nate and his crew were absolutely fantastic hosts!! I was not expecting the level of hospitality that they showed us, and we are beyond grateful! The camper was perfect, and the property was beautiful. My wife and son each caught fish in the pond, and my daughter fell in love with the barn cats. Nate's "night cap tour" of his distillery was fantastic and the care he takes in raising his corn and distilling his spirits shines through. I can't speak highly enough about how wonderful the entire experience was and my entire family can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Historic Hobby Farm

We loved the skoolie and the animals on the farm! The views were amazing and peaceful, and getting there was way easier than I thought. My wife and I enjoyed being shown around the animals and even got to feed the little lambs with milk. The hosts were super friendly and hospitable. The skoolie itself was very cozy and had everything we needed!

1 night at Grasshopper Acres

This is the best camping place I’ve ever stayed in It literally has everything you need, it was so nice to disconnect and relax in here, I am an artist and I never get the peace to just paint without interruptions but in here I even got inspiration from the land. The host is super nice, he met me and my sister at check in to show us around and make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I felt super safe out there and I never felt like we were missing something. I will definitely come back! Also there is a lot of yummy places in that area so we were never hungry lol If you are reading this and considering staying just book it already!

2 nights at Historic Hobby Farm

We had such a blast on our visit to Laura and Jacob's farm! Thinking this may be an annual trip. Laura was an amazing host-- sharing the stories and habits of all the animals, who were incredibly sweet and well cared for. Definitely recommend the farm tour add on. It was such a treat to hold, brush, and feed the animals. My kiddo was thrilled. The school bus was very clean and comfortable. I was a little uncertain about the outhouse based on previous reviews, but it is clearly renovated and in excellent condition. Thank you for a wonderful adventure! Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Grasshopper Acres

I absolutely loved camping at grasshopper acres. The entire experience absolutely exceeded my expectations. Josh had everything prepared for us when we arrived, he was very helpful and pleasant. The outdoor camp potty was very clean and had plenty of supplies. The tent was very well prepared with cots, tables and a wood stove. It rained off and on the entire weekend that we camped. However, it didn't bother us because we had more than enough space inside of the tent. We painted, played games and just fellowship and enjoyed each other's company. It was an absolutely great experience and I can't wait to do it again.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Roots Herbal Sanctuary

I have been staying on Hillary's land for over 6 years now, and have loved each experience. Whether I am tent camping, in the tree house, Cozy Cottage, or any of the other sites, it is a quiet and personal experience. You can visit and enjoy the land, reset, and feel energized and refreshed when you leave. The cottage is terrific when it rains!
