Our stay was pleasant. We were expecting a little more. This is closer to boondocking than an actual RV park. Not really set up for something like our 39' fifth wheel.
There is water, you have to either have an extra long hose or be prepared to fill jugs from the spigot at the house. Electric was connected to an extension cable. The bathroom facility is an outhouse that was surprisingly well kept and clean.
Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay. The pond is nice and full of fish. Quiet and peaceful, we were the only campers there. It was a good place for our dogs. The owner is a sweet friendly man, very accommodating and great to talk with. He is willing to help in anyway that he possibly can. We will stay there again and be better prepared for the stay.

Stayed on “the island” primitive camping site, upon arrival there was a stack of wood, ready for a hearty campfire. Michael made sure I had everything I needed, was kind and authentic. I recommend adding a wood bundle when paying online, it supports a local guy! We cooked a fantastic meal on cast iron over hot bricks while listening to the nightlife. My dog enjoyed laying around under the moon. Other campsites are far enough away that you really don't hear them. There is a camper a little walk away to use toilet and shower rinse, Michael has spring water hookup near house where you may fill jugs for water if needed.

Camping on Michael’s land was a good experience! It was our first time camping as a couple and with our dog… we have a lot to learn haha. Unfortunately the weather was not great and we ended up not staying the second night we booked but Michael was a wonderful host will to help if needed!

We loved Michaels land,the pond was clean for swimming and fishing.We had campfires.3 RV sites with electric and water available,no sewage,portajohn on site.Michael is there to help you make your stay a good camping experience.

Wonderful stay. We parked our 30ft camper right next to the pond. There is a little beach to swim and a dock to fish. There are giant bushes for privacy. Mostly level ground. Land is well kept with a porta potty if needed. Good cell service on ATT & Verizon. Mike was a great host! He was so kind and welcoming. Our families had dinner together and all the kids had a blast climbing trees, swimming and running around. This stay is exactly why we love hipcamp so much.

We had a serene and relaxing weekend camping at Borderline on the "island." Michael was a wonderful and friendly host, and communication with him was nearly effortless because he was so responsive. The property is charming, several camp sites around the pond, with the one on the island as the crown jewel. It was private, but not isolated from road access or pond/beach access. The pond was lovely, warm and clean, with an actual sand beach and dock, so no mucky muddy feet! Thank you Michael for allowing us to enjoy Borderline, we hope to return again soon!

My family loved camping on Mikes land. His hospitality went above and beyond. Our 4 year old spent the day at "Pap's Beach" which is a wonderful swimming hole with a sand shore. She caught her first fish with the help our the wonderful host, Mike. We pitched our tent in a private shaded area with plenty of trees for hanging hammocks and a nice view of the lake and a fire pit. 10/10 recommend for anyone needing a getaway close to Pittsburgh with kids.

Michael was a great host. We got there and got to pick our spot, we had a little island all to ourselves. He came around and made sure we were good, and even checked to see if he could put on a fireworks show the second day. The property was beautiful, I just wanted to float in the water all day. I can't wait to rebook for our next weekend away

Plenty of room, quiet, and an awesome pond with dock and swim beach to keep kids (even my surly teen!) entertained for hours. Cannot recommend this place enough, my family had a wonderful weekend.

We really enjoyed Mikes campground. Beautiful scenery and great fishing for kids and adults. The kids really enjoyed “pap’s beach” as well which entertained them for hours. The John boat and kayaks were a big hit too. Mike was an excellent host and we enjoyed the first night so much we booked a second night on the spot. Just to give others a heads up though there was not running water or electrical hookups on the steps but you can use the barn to charge a phone if needed. Other than the power issue for people with little pop up campers it’s a great place to unwind and close to anything you need but feels like you’re secluded. This camp is also pet friendly!! Thanks again Mike for being an excellent host and letting us enjoy your land.

Mike was a wonderful host! He helped us make a nice campsite on the edge of his beautiful pond so we looked right out onto it. We have a 35 foot Fifth Wheel and could not fit on anything but the crushed asphalt drive but that worked out great for us. The rest of the property could easily accommodate multiple tents or even a small trailer. We had wood provided and even tiki torches if needed. We travel with our two large rescue dogs and our two cats and that was ok with Mike as well. The beautiful concert put on by all the bugs and frogs around the pond was perfect for sleeping music. I would say the only downside was you are near a road that has some traffic but we still enjoyed our stay! Thank you Mike and Pat for your hospitality!!

5 years in row we have stayed here. We love it. Our Kids love it. Fishing, frog catching, fires and camping. What else do you need! The host is accommodating and very laid back but we also respect the place. It’s not a money maker so you really have to keep that in mind. We are grateful that he lets us stay here.

We bought a RV in Chardon OH and needed a place to stay for a night before heading back home to VA. Michael was an excellent host and set us up right in front of the pond which was very peaceful, quiet and only 45 minutes to Pittsburgh. Being so close to Pittsburgh, we made a trip to Primanti Brothers in downtown Pittsburgh before heading home. We will return.

Michael and his property was great. He met us when we got there. Provided firewood and some tiki torches. He also let me bring my utility quad to take the kids on little rides around his property, which has some nice easy trails on. Fishing was great. We all caught a variety of species and sizes. And it was nice and quiet in the evening. We will definitely be going back. He is a great host.

Wife and I had a great time at Borderline! Mike and Patty are great hosts. Tons of stuff to do in the area, or a great place to sit around and relax. Look forward to camping there again.

Michael seemed like a great host, however the electric on this property could not support our 30 amp pop up with A/C. It was about 91 degrees and we couldn’t stay without electric. We left after only 1.5 hours. I really wanted to swim in that pond tho!!!

I really enjoyed my stay I wish I had booked longer than an overnight. I got lucky and had the place pretty much to myself. The weather was perfect and it was a full moon too. The swimming hole aka Pap’s Beach is spring fed and was great to hang out. I had the place to myself so that added to the peacefulness. Michael is an accommodating host and an interesting man to talk to.

Micheal’s place was as beautiful as everyone describes it. We had a fun weekend stay there. Enjoyed the beautiful pond and got to meet his lovely grand daughters as well. My dogs ran around and had fun exploring the place. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the restroom in the trailer as it was broke, rest assured - we will definitely be back again to visit this peaceful oasis. Michael was very prompt in communication.

Michael was extremely helpful and accommodating. I was just stopping through for a night, but he made sure I had everything I needed including water, firewood, and even supplied tiki torches. I really enjoyed the much needed dip in the swimming pond after a long day driving. Thanks for everything!

Michael was a great host and showed us to our site. We had one of the sites by the pond with access to the dock. There was one other camper across the pond so it was very quite, perfect for our first hip camp experience.

Michael’s lovely lakeside get away was perfectly maintained, full of amenities, easy to find and smooth to get in and out of. He greeted us at his “beach“ - a small sand covered area next to a long dock on a large serene pond. There was a barn and “port a john” by the beach for convenience. We followed him in a golf cart as he showed us different possible camp sites around the pond. We chose a spot opposite the beach/dock that had a shade of pine trees we liked, and set up our camp next to a fire ring by the pond. A beautiful view of the water and surroundings made for a relaxing evening. He offered us plenty of firewood and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Quiet and calm was what we wanted, and that’s what we got. Michael is a fantastic host with a lovely, versatile property worthy of consideration for a day or a week!

We tent camped for 3 days and 2 nights at Borderline. The children enjoyed the the beach, swimming, boating and fishing. We planned to explore the surrounding area, but ended up spending the entire time playing and relaxing around the pond. Michael was a friendly host who made sure we had what we needed and was always available. There were plenty of beach toys for the children to play at his manmade beach, along with camp chairs, sun umbrellas and a newly built gazebo when we were there. A port-a-john is located near the beach for tent campers; it was clean and did not smell bad.
Note that while the hipcamp website says that showers are available, they were not set up this summer. We did fine without them, but would have liked to know. Also, the site is along a state highway with a fair bit of traffic. We rarely noticed the noise and it would not stop us from staying there again, but you'd want to know this if you were expecting absolutely silent wilderness, or something similar.
The children are excited to come back someday for more fishing and playing in the the water. The sounds of nature, from birds to bullfrogs, make it a welcome respite from urban life. Thanks to Michael for sharing his land with hipcampers and being such a great host!
