Ugly Apple Farms was started by my Wife and to try to bring fresh organic/permaculture food to our community. We love to play music and get together with our friends and have been hosting people for some time. We thought that hipcamp could introduce people to our mission and make some extra money to get the farm off the ground. Ugly Apple Farms is a diverse place. We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River. We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them. We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. Our camping is primitive but there is access to potable water and sanitation if needed. All extras are first come first serve if not reserved in advance. We love and welcome any questions! Come and live the farm life! We offer bee keeping classes and cheesemaking classes. You can gather your own eggs or pick some veggies. You can also enjoy relaxing on the farm or taking advantage of our 1800 feet of riverfront property. Prior to booking you stay, please message us to let us know where you would like to stay. We have a riverfront site, a wooded area that accommodates more people or a secluded brookside area. Also let us know if you want to drive right to your camp or if you don't mind walking a few feet to your site. See you soon!

UAF Brookside site #1 is located on our brook with lots of spots to cool off in the hottest days of summer. It is stunningly beautiful and private. It is perfect for little kids who want to play in the shallow waters, and couples who want a private place to relax in the waters away from eyes. The road in can get muddy so on days with heavy rain it is recommended that campers walk their gear in from the road(about 100ft)

This Hipcamp guest pass is for folks who just want to hangout for the day and play around the farm. UAF has lots to do, play around the river, feed play with the animals, pick veggies up front. If you are visiting another group, who has reached their limit of guests and are not planning on staying for the evening this is another option. Please ask about this before buying

This place was so beautiful!!! Randall is awesome, super nice and easy to communicate with and his mission with the campsite and the farm is just added bonus awesomeness. I did the Brookeside site and it was so tranquil and beautiful and the Brooke was so nice to dip into. Would camp here again in a heartbeat.

Private and fun!

Randall's land is an excellent site and he is a great person. We spoke about the area and he allowed me to stay even though I picked the wrong option. We had fun and it was nice to be at a campsite that has privacy.

We were very happy with the camping situation. We had a beautiful campsite near the stream. There were a couple flat spots to pitch our tents which was nice. Randall was very responsive and kind. Overall would come again.

Quick getaway from NYC

We loved our stay at Randall’s farm, and would recommend it for anyone looking for a quick getaway for some time in nature at a working farm. We particularly loved meeting Randall and Adelaide, and appreciated his hospitality toward our group that included several lively toddlers! Our camp site was at a small escarpment by a rivulet, and had plenty of tree cover to shield us from the sun and rain. The site felt secluded, yet was close enough to the access road. Randall was gracious to invite us to his porch and offer coffee, pan cakes, eggs and wonderful company. I’d highly recommend for groups who want to basic camp ground with no frills. Or those with kids keen on interacting with farm animals.

Great spot in the woods on a farm

I stayed in one of the campsites in the woods. It was really perfect - easy to find, easy to navigate in and out, completely private, a clearing big enough to turn my car around, surrounded by dense woods. If there were other campers near me I was unaware of them. At night you just heard woodsy sounds. You could very faintly hear I-84 but it is over a mile away in a straight line. I did my own thing away from the farm but there were farm things going on - pigs, chickens, and a huge plot of vegetables.

Ugly Apple Farm was perfect for our two families. The campsites were spacious and beautiful situated. Ours was riverside but set above it so that we could see our kids float by on their tubes. They were also set a good distance from the nearest other campsites. Within our site, we were able to set up our two tents with plenty of distance from each other. Randall was a great host! We hope to head back again soon.

The camp was secluded, calm and private. Plenty of space at the spot #4 where we stayed. Shade from the birch trees allowed us to sleep longer in the morning. Randall’s place is easy to find and very close to Port Jervis and great hikes.

This farm is beautiful. Randall is incredibly inspiring and kind. Our campsite was clean and quiet. So happy to have met Randall and to have been able to spend time on their land. Will definitely be going back.

We loved camping at Ugly Apple Farms- Randall has very beautiful and scenic property. The river was lovely to swim in; we stayed in for hours. Highly recommend camping here!

My daughter and I loved our stay at the Ugly Apple Farm! The campsites are spacious, clean, private, no noisy RVs, we had a lot of fun playing in the river and picking up fresh veggies. Randall is an awesome host. Highly recommended!

Originally booked Brookside Site #1, but got switched to riverside site #10. Not sure why, or how many sites there are since it isn't really specified otherwise. Site 10 was still beautiful though. Just be aware that - like some others have pointed out - you may end up at a different spot. Also, if you have a truck, the path to drive there can feel a little tight, but it's definitely doable. And regardless, it's a beautiful area.

Site 10 at the Ugly Apple 5/5

Site 10 was terrific, right be the entry to the creek and a great float down to a little beach where you can exit on the opposite end of the grounds. Randy and his family are lovely and made a delicious dinner and breakfast with fresh ingredients sourced from their property. There was only one other party, on the opposite end, and we had such a quiet, peaceful experience.

Exciting!!

Great host! Peaceful, veey private. Kids had fun at the site. The river is very gentle, slow on one side. Kids were able to see a lot frogs and toads. Overall a great, calming, camping trip

Our campsite was private and peaceful, right on the water and we brought our tubes so we got to float down and just enjoy ourselves. Site can be a bit buggy but also it was humid July so I’m sure it could just be the time of year, wonderful experience otherwise

Amazing farm stay

This farm is amazing. We had such a good time with the kids! (Ages 2-7) Randy and his family are so welcoming and kind! We highly recommend having dinner and breakfast, Randy is a great cook and everything is super yum and fresh! The river was just a few steps away from our site, clean water, perfect temperature for swimming on a hot day!

It was a beautiful campsite, rustic and close to river...camp site is big enough that you will not see the neighbors....lots of spots to get down to the water....Randall offered breakfast and dinner and it was all very good.

Randall's space was awesome! The sites are private, well maintained, and spacious. The property has a variety of woods, and all are beautiful. A dunk into the river is a must!

Riverside camping

Quiet, private, large, campsite WITH river access! Had a great time staying here and would love to come back. Directions were easy and Randall was an excellent host to us. Plenty of trees for hammocks and open flat areas for tents.

Beautiful land, and super easy experience. The family was very welcoming and invited us to their Memorial Day celebration. Campground 8 was private and just a short walk from the parking spot. A short drive from the water spigot at the main house. Adorable sheep and geese. Lots of great wooded area to explore alongside the river. This was my 2nd time here and I hope to come back soon!

Epic farm and forest vibes

We had an amazing stay, although our trip was planned last minute, Randall was kind enough to accommodate and help us settle in, the place was such nice mix of farm and secluded nature. We did the bee keeping experience which was a great opportunity to learn about bees and what it would take to maintain, Randall was very insightful and shared a lot of learning with us. We will definitely come back!
