You'll find one flat, self sufficient, remote (with privacy fencing) spacious clearing surrounded by a diverse canopy of trees, offering serene views of the flowing river. This site also includes a 240 square foot cabin if you choose to camp inside, outside, or both. It's the perfect spot to cast a line for fishing, gather around a crackling campfire to toast marshmallows, or simply relax and watch the eagles and abundant wildlife soar above. Although you'll feel worlds away, you're just a five-minute drive from the vibrant heart of Port Jervis — home to a wide variety of restaurants, breweries, bakeries, coffee shops, and more. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventure or a quiet riverside escape, Free-dom Soars is your next unforgettable getaway. 1. Water Safety: Swimming, boating, or other water activities are at your own risk. The river is a natural body of water and may have uneven depths, currents, or underwater hazards. No lifeguard is present, and children must be supervised at all times near the water. We have several life jackets available for you and your children’s safety. 2. Wildlife: This property is located in a natural environment. Guests may encounter wildlife such as insects, fish, birds, or other animals. Please respect the natural habitat and take precautions as needed (e.g., insect repellent, proper food storage). 3. Weather Conditions: river conditions can change rapidly due to weather. Be mindful of storms, high winds, or other environmental factors that may affect your safety or enjoyment. 4. Property Boundaries: The river and surrounding areas may not be fully owned or controlled by the host. Please respect any posted signs or neighboring properties and refrain from trespassing. We have fencing to help respect the neighbors and your privacy as well as property boundaries. 5. Great place right by the river. Flat land, with fire pit, chairs and firewood available. There was a gas grill, but we didn’t use it this time, maybe next time. Some neighbors around but distant enough for some privacy. A nice dip in the river was just right with refreshing water temp. The bite could have been better 😉

I wouldn't say this is one of the best campgrounds out there, but think of it like this: youre not renting a campsite here. You're renting the whole part of the river, which happens to be campground. The neversink river by the campsite is at most waist deep, cool but not cold, gentle flowing water, LOTS of fish (especially bluegills), pristine clear water, bald eagles, super friendly and welcoming hosts, and nice neighbors (they are the reason why its not so private like the other review mentioned, but as long as you respect their private property and noise level, they are great neighbors). To be frank, I wasn't so impressed at first, but by the second night, I knew I was going think about this place frequently. Luanna - thanks for hosting! Looking forward to visiting again in the future :)

Wonderful Hosts, nice river access but the spot is not private. Great for anyone looking for a self-sufficient easy spot in Port Jervis, not as awesome for van life and anyone looking for a quiet, remote campsite.

I recently had a wonderful camping experience at Free-Dom Soars, and I wanted to share my positive feedback. Luanna is an exceptionally kind and thoughtful host. Her campsite is spacious, beautiful, and has a fantastic location right by the river. I wholeheartedly recommend Free-Dom Soars to all types of campers, whether they are traveling solo or with family.
