I highly recommend this as a fantastic opportunity to get off the grid for a while. John is very receptive to inquires within the app. As well as, when you get there, he will guide you what to do based on your wants and needs on the property.
The property itself is amazing. You get a pond, a river, timber areas, farmland, plenty of hiking paths. The wildlife is almost overwhelming. From Coyotes in the distance, to owls up close.
It is a hidden gem! Thank you John for the opportunity!

Me and my girlfriend camped and everything went smoothly! Our doggo enjoyed the thick grass and all the land. The best part was seeing the stars at night definitely a good place to stargaze. JQ was very responsive and checked up on us accordingly. It’s always nice to know the owner cares about who is staying on the land. Definitely recommend a truck driving to the campsite but our little honda did just fine since it hadn’t rained previously.

River Bottom Tent Camp Site
We stayed in the River Bottom section and absolutely loved it! John supplies wood and plenty of camp sites. There were hunting stands and view points in plenty of spots. We heard coyotes from the other side of the river at night and turkeys in the morning. There were views of the river close to the site.
We used 4x4 to get down to the site but the dirt road was well taken care of. It did end up raining and John was proactive in reaching out offering to help us get out of that section if we needed it. He was always very communicative and I knew if I had a problem I could just reach out which was very appreciated.
I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone wanting to camp near KC.

Had a great time with a group of six with a few tents. Lots of room to set up, and the area is secluded and remote enough to feel somewhat private. Hiked around the area and down by the river. Can’t recommend it enough. Just ideal for our needs.

John and Piera’s land is a great location for a quiet retreat. We tent camped and the site was easily accessible and there were all the necessary amenities: electricity, water, and a flushing toilet. The trails were clear and easily navigated for a nice stroll through the woods. Plenty of woodpeckers and a variety of other birds if birdwatching is your interest, and we spotted a few white tail deer around the site.
Our hosts responded timely with questions regarding the site, they seem to be very attentive to their guests needs.
Highly recommended and we certainly would camp here again.

Quiet, shaded, marvelous spot with walking paths, hammocks, pond, and friendly hosts. Lots of birds to hear/watch. Lying in the tent, listening to the wildlife calling after dark is idyllic, including coyotes and barred and great horned owls. We'll absolutely be back.

Wonderful 3 nights at this beautiful place. Lots of shady space, we had two small tents and set up our campfire down towards the treehouse. The included firewood was a huge plus. The property is lovely and so well maintained. We can’t wait to go back and explore more.

Great place! Multiple places to set up camp along the riverside. He has multiple trails cleared around the property as well. You can fish in his pond and put in/pull out kayaks from the river (if you don't mind lugging up a little bit of an incline). He had wood set out for us, Tiki torches ready up at the barn, and gave us a walking tour of the property when we arrived.

Hickory Forest was wonderful. Reminded me of my dad's property on the other side of MO. JQ has paths al through the woods. My dog loved it too. We were only there for a day, but we took a walk down by th river, and my dog went swimming. Just great!

JQ was a great host and his land so well kept. The wildflowers were in full bloom and there were plenty of paths to walk around and enjoy the area. JQ’s is place to take dogs as they can roam around the land as they please.

This piece of land is stunning and kept immaculate. We stayed at the rv/tent site and could not have made a better choice. The site was wooded and surrounded by more dense woodland. It is located a short walk to the bathroom and the shower and around the corner from the pond. There are wildflowers everywhere, and John has cut walking paths all throughout the property and even down by the river. John is a fantastic host and gave perfect directions to his little slice of heaven. Highly recommend!!

We tent camped here on a stormy night. Due to the recent rain, John recommended and gave us his more expensive campsite without charging us extra to ensure we had the best time we could. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

This was a fantastic place to stay on my way south. Not too far off the highway to be an inconvenience, but not too close to escape the noise. the site was very peaceful and surrounded by trees. Be sure to pack bug spray though!

We really enjoyed our camping weekend at JQ's place. The RV camp site was very private, making it the perfect location for a first camping trip with our recently adopted, anxious pup. John was the perfect host, very friendly and helpful. We would love to stay again soon and explore more of the many hiking trails on the property.

This place is beautiful. I would almost call it a perfect setting with plenty of shade, privacy and room to spread out. The host was very nice and accommodating. We had talked to him about reserving a couple of weeks there. We made plans to do just that and then suddenly he said he didn’t want us to stay any longer and we could not extend our stay as previously discussed. He said he did not want campers staying more than 5 days. This was my only issue. Otherwise it was wonderful. So if you are looking for a nice place for 5 days or less then I would recommend this place. There are lots of bugs but he offers citronella lanterns, there was power, water that you can attach a hose to, and a bathroom that he is in the process of adding a shower to. He has a wood shed and offers his wood for free to use and there is a big stand alone deck that overlooks the valley and the river. All and all the place is very nice. I would recommend it to anyone staying short term.

John’s space was incredibly welcoming and comfortable, he gave us tons of help getting us to where we needed to go, and was a great host. Land was beautiful and secluded, tons of privacy and tons of accommodations. John was even understanding and accommodating of our late arrival and corresponded with us to make sure we found our destination without confusion. Will definitely be staying again when in this part of MO.
