We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! Sunset Mountain is an exclusive reservation only 18+ clothing optional/nudist campground located on my working cattle farm. We are not a place for partying or any sexual activity or PDA. We are a place to relax and enjoy nature. (Please do not drive up to our gate and try to get in. Please make a reservation in advance.) Although we cater to adults only we follow TNSF and AANR guidelines for social nude recreation. If you are not familiar with TNSF or AANR you can do a quick internet search and see some basic guidelines for social nude recreation. Sunset Mountain does typically operate as a blind service venue meaning we do business online and we and or our maintenance team may not be seen during your stay. We have a good team in place to help your stay be enjoyable please just understand we don’t operate like some of the nudist clubs you may be used to.
Sunset Mountain is a nice quiet place to relax and work on your tan. We have RV sites, tent camping areas and overlanding sites. As lodging options we have a converted bus and shipping container. The campground has a bathroom facility with indoor shower and seasonal outdoor showers. We have a hot tub and propane grill guests can use year round along with hiking trails in the summer and a swimming pool.
Sunset Mountain is near the Elk River in Noel Missouri and close to Northwest Arkansas where there are mountain biking trails, museums and many other activities. Sunset Mountain is listed on the Monarch Butterfly Waystation registry as well.
We are located 1.2 miles away from the Noel city park that has free Elk River access, 4 miles to Mt. Shira free Elk River access near Shady Beach and 5.2 miles to the free Elk River access in Pineville, MO near Shady Beach Pineville.

WARNINGS! Hazards on our property include, but are not limited to: Biting insects, wild animals, dead fall trees (especially on the river bottom), slick and muddy approach to the river. In general, keep in mind you are camping in a timber and nature happens!

We live on a small paradise covering 2 acres. We have plenty of space for 33' foot campers, tents, vans, etc. Our backyard has been designed to accommodate families and the single nomads. We are a small hobby farm with a dog, chickens, a small fruit orchard, vineyard, and garden!! On the north end of the property we created a playground with a jungle gym, swings, trampoline, playhouses, outside polyjohn/toilet, and a 16' pool. This property is pet friendly but be warned we do have a large dog (very friendly)! We have power to support smaller 20amp campers with water and a dump station.

We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail.
*** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!).
Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Amenities and features of the campsite include: a private camp toilet with a door and a concrete pad, picnic table on a gravel pad with an umbrella, a fully equipped cornhole game, fishing pole holders, a garbage can, three (3) level wood tent platforms, and even a big swing set!
RV site - the RV site also has a picnic table with umbrella, a garbage can and a fully equipped cornhole game. Nearby, the RV site also has access to a very nice private pit toilet, a gazebo with lights and an electrical outlet, and a firepit stocked with firewood.

For most of the 20th century the property was a small farm, grazing cattle and mowed for bailing hay. We are trying to rejuvenate the property and breathing some new life into this old plot of land.

The Hill, aptly named, is a hilltop that slopes down to a large pond that divides the twenty acre property in two. With plenty of room to stretch your legs you can enjoy a nature walk. You can book multiple sites if you want to stay as a group.
We do our best to allow 1 reservation to stay on site at a time. If only 1 site is requested the others are then blocked to allow guests privacy during their stay. If another person requests to stay and it is booked, we will check with the current reservation for approval. We also allow groups to book and camp together if needed (use both rv pads, or tent camp).
We do offer 50amp and 30amp power options (2 different RV parking sites).
Some people have commented that our driveway entrance seems narrow for larger rigs (Class A's and 5th wheels). We've had 53' long rigs (5th wheels)and 45' (Class A's) pull in and get parked with no issues. You will need to be able to back into a spot for either 50a or 30a service. We do have additional parking available for extra vehicles.
If you have a tow vehicle/toad, you will need to detach prior to arrival. There are 2 trucks stops less than 5 miles away (TA and Pilot) or there is a park with a large parking area off of David Hoekel Parkway you can utilize.
We do offer 20amp power and extension cord for tent campers (either in our tent or can be used in your own tent.
Free cold showers available.
A bundle of firewood is now included for use in provided fire pits in needed/requested.
Outdoor Hot showers available at a charge of $5/person. This includes the use of propane and a portable hot water heater.
Wi-Fi is available during your stay.
Will provide network name and password in confirmation email.
3 firepits are available for use (firewood can be purchased).
Easy access to our place via Hwy 70 (take the David Hoekel Parkway Exit).
We are 5 miles from Wentzville which offers a Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, multiple grocery stores, Rural King, Charlies and multiple restaurants.
We have a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, black crappie, carp and turtles. There is a Windmill that aerates the pond (do not climb on it). You can fish the pond must practice CPR (catch photo release). Or you can feed the pond fish & feed out chickens. We will provide the fish food and chicken treats.
There is plenty of wildlife (deer, fox, raccoons, armadillo's, birds, etc.). Deer will walk by the pond and driveway a couple of times a day. We also have a group of free-range chickens and French guineas (eggs may be available during your stay). There are bike trails in the area, paved roads you can ride on to explore, wineries nearby, a petting zoo and pumpkin patch.

My 9-year-old daughter, our 2½-year-old dog, and I had an amazing time staying here. We swam in the infinity pool, grilled out with our neighbors, jumped in the lake and swam right off the dock, and genuinely had a blast.
Everyone we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had such a relaxing, laid-back energy. It was the perfect combination of lake life, good people, and making memories with my daughter. The atmosphere is seriously a total vibe.
We loved our time at Ozarks 38 Special and will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing place at the Lake of the Ozarks where you can unwind, meet great people, and enjoy the water, this is it! ⭐️

I recently stayed at this Campground in a dispersed camping site. It was a hot few days that I was there and being able to camp in the trees where there was plenty of shade was a lifesaver. The road along the side of the campground leads down to a creek bottom. The creek allows for the opportunity of swimming on hot day. Lots of hiking available as well. The shower facility was excellent and the separate restrooms were clean.

Ozarks 38 Special was seriously such a vibe! My 9-year-old daughter, our 2½-year-old pup, and I had the best time. From swimming in the infinity pool and jumping in the lake right off the dock to grilling with our neighbors, it was the perfect little getaway.
What really made it special was the atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had this relaxed, laid-back lake energy that made it easy to forget about everything else and just enjoy the moment. We laughed, swam, relaxed, met some great people, and made memories that my daughter and I will definitely remember.
If you’re looking for somewhere that feels fun, comfortable, family-friendly, and like your own little lake community, Ozarks 38 Special is definitely worth checking out. We came home already talking about going back! ❤️🌊☀️🐾

3rd time coming here, and another great trip in the books!
We come with a group of friends and stay in the RV sites, and honestly, we don’t have much negative to say. Some of the sites are on the smaller side, but you can definitely make them work.
Our site was listed with a 24’ max, but our 30’ camper fit with no issues. We did have to use an extension for the sewer connection, but it worked great nonetheless.
They have a great lake with easy swimming access, and the whole place is quiet, relaxing, and a great spot to unwind.
We’ll definitely be back!

We went with the intention to stay two nights. We enjoyed the atmosphere and all the friendly people and ended up staying an extra night. We enjoyed karaoke Kelly and the pool. It was very nice and clean the entire time. The campground was well kept, and in a nice quiet location. We do have plans on going back again in the future.
