Log Cabin nestled on edge of woods by hobby farm, along the St. Joseph's river, there are on site paths and North Country Trail to hike. We are near local antique shopping, local diners, golfing and more. Peaceful area.

Limited to 4 campers. The cabin is 12 x 20 with a futon and a loft above with two single beds. Linens NOT provided. Cabin has a wood burning stove for the cooler/cold months. Cast iron cookware provided. Outside grill (like you would find at a park, bring your own charcoal) and fire ring provided. Outhouse is sawdust based. There is a pump well on site for water, which is potable however filtering is recommended. Electricity provided for the three lights, mini fridge and microwave. Parking is about 250 feet from the cabin, we have wagon available to carry items from the parking area to the cabin. Do not drive up to the cabin to unload.

Cabin nestled on the edge of the woods and has plenty of wildlife to watch. Deer frequent the area along with all wildlife you would typically see in the parks. It is country dark, which makes an amazing view on the clear nights and full moons. Very relaxing.

Walking paths through the 33 acres of woods and field. During wet seasons, the lower trails will be flooded and/or muddy. Our dirt road is part of the North Country Trail, which is over 4,600 miles of trail. There are other hiking areas in the area to include Lost Nations.

The St. Joseph's river is on the property which is a two minute walk from the cabin. The river can be kayaked however, trees fall creating obstacles and can be shallow when it hasn't rained. This river is very scenic from Jonesville to Litchfield and extremely secluded, it is a hidden gem. For a fee, we provide kayaks and, if needed, transportation to where you want to kayak. The Kalamazoo river is less than 15 minutes away and is also a great place to kayak albeit on the good days is crowded.

Like shopping? Antique shops within 15 minutes. The city of Allen is the Antique capitol of Michigan.

There are many food shopping markets in the area. If our hens are laying you may score some farm fresh eggs too.

Mosquitos and bugs are included, there is no stopping them. When it is not winter, bring bug spray. Stink bugs are a plenty we do our best to sweep them out of the cabin before you arrive.

*WARNING* We have cats & dogs, hens & roosters and other wildlife. Solomon and Ruth (dogs) greet everyone, they will get bored with you and leave. Ruth is guarded and just needs to be told she is a good girl.  The chickens are protected with an electric fence and the rooster crows, whenever he wants. There are cows down the road and you may smell them if the wind is right (doesn't happen often). The cats are barn cats and roam. It is their job to deter and stop the life of small rodents and they do. There are also coyotes, eagles, and owls, which prey on small animals. *WARNING*. Beavers have shown up and are behaving like beavers, they are taking trees down.

*CAUTION* We have had storms late summer 2021 that took down many, many trees. This has impacted trails on the property and the river.  We are still working on cleanup. *CAUTION*

December-February can get very cold (below 20ﹾ). When using this wood burning stove at these temperature you must feed the fire every couple hours to keep the cabin warm. Firewood is provided. This is the only heat source for the cabin. Snow and ice happen, be ready. Campers, ensure you are ready for this before booking.

We stayed at Ann's larger rustic Cabin and everything was what I expected and more. The Cabin does have electricity which was nice but I loved that everything was basic and what I was looking for on my vacation. The property is beautiful and nicely wooded, I went for many walks through the trails. Ann and her Husband gave us a tour of the property when we arrived to get us familiar of the surroundings. I highly recommend staying here if your looking for a Rustic Cabin for your trip!

We had the best time on our stay at Ann and Mac’s cabin. We were amazed by how much care, attention to detail, and craftsmanship they put into the cabin and their farm! Mac was super friendly and helpful and even gave us some fresh eggs. We hope to come back again soon!

We loved the wood burning stove and brick work. Absolutely beautiful and his wife built that cabin themselves; true talent! It was nice and cozy for my boyfriend and I. We played chess, yahtzee, monopoly all while kicking back. Thanks for the eggs! Your chickens and kitty are awesome

Incredibly crafted cabin, with everything you need. Perfect for the 4 of us, with plenty of space to sleep and prep food, and lounge in the evening. Wood stove and cast iron supplies were terrific. Can’t wait to come back!

Awesome cabin in a beautiful setting with thoughtful hosts. My brother and I spent a weekend here and enjoyed walking through the woods. We loved sitting by and cooking on the wood stove in the provided cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens. The cabin has everything you need and nothing you don’t - it is rustic, but that’s exactly what we were after.
Would definitely stay here again!

The cabin is wonderful! The details of the building and the woodwork were amazing and the contruction was incredibly well thought out. This was also true of the latrine. It was one of the nicest I have ever been in. There was plenty of room for the four of us. Ann and her husband lit the fire in the stove prior to our arrival and met us to show us where everything was and how to use things. The land is beautiful and we enjoyed our hike. The beds were all comfortable and the stove kept the building reasonably warm (it was in the upper 20s overnight). We had a wonderful time!
