Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. Some of the property that this walk traverses does go through land that was logged. So, that section has lost a bit of its luster. That said, now you are able to look off in the distance to see the ridge that used to be hidden. The property you will stay on is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying. The property owner (my mom, who is in her mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives just down the road a smidge. She has graciously offered that we can rent this spot out and contribute the profits to her grandsons' college funds. While you may not see any of us at all, there is a chance you will meet some of the family (mom, myself, my husband or the boys), especially if you have any requests or hiccups. We loved country meadows privacy, views, and Full hookups with wifi. Easy access less than a mile off the blueridge parkway. We enjoyed a very beautiful and quiet getaway for 3 days . We saw deer 2 days during our stay and plenty of birds.

Stunning view! Great set up with the deck and picnic table. Was very windy when we were there so we couldn’t enjoy it to the fullest. Nice wooden swing to chill on. The spot is set behind a shed which is behind the house, so a little closer than we like but still felt private. Magnificent sunset ❤️‍🔥full hookup. Firewood available for sale arranged by the kids , very cute💕. Very communicative host.

Wonderful RV site with gorgeous views! The spot was very easy to access, and we loved the gazebo, swing, and fire pit areas. Having access to a private, full hookup site like this is rare and quite the find! Many thanks to Rebecca and her boys for the firewood. The site is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and near the quirky and fun town of Floyd. Lots of things to do within ~30-minute drive, including hiking, breweries, restaurants, wineries, bakeries, and shops.

30’ travel trailer. Great campsite. Clean and nice amenities including fire wood for purchase. Fantastic location for hiking and exploring. Beautiful property with a wonderful view. Neighbors are nearby but peaceful and we didn’t have any interruptions. No road noise, only the birds and lightning bugs!

It was so beautiful and peaceful. Much needed for our family. We ventured down to explore Floyd and love the doghouse pizza! we also hiked to the winery from the camp, great walk, we had a bunch of fun. We definitely plan on coming back.

We had a great visit to this site. Overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway and tremendous views of the valley below, we enjoyed the fire pit and the peace and quiet this site offers. WiFi was also very nice to have. Communication and instruction from the host were excellent, and we visited both nearby wineries and the nearby town of Floyd. One thing to note: the site is ~150 feet behind an occupied house, so if you want true privacy and seclusion, this may not be your site. Other than a couple cars coming and going, it was just fine for us.

What beautiful property! Conveniently located to Blue Ridge Pkwy & Mabry Mill. Meadows of Dan only 7 minute drive away with a few local shops, coffee, & a couple of places to eat. Amazing stargazing at night, if it’s clear. We had a very relaxing time! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great site! It felt very private. We saw deer every evening too. We hiked to the winery it was wet in a few spots but we had our hiking boots on and it had beautiful views. I would say it was a moderate hike. The Winery was exceptional!! We had our two dogs with us and were able to eat at the restaurant on the patio with them. We would definitely recommend this site and would stay again.

The ultimate measure of whether a location was great or not is IF we plan on coming back. The short answer is 'YES'. To go in detail, we weren't sure we'd like having an outdoor metal storage shed to park under however, it was nice when it rained early in the evening and we didn't have to bother putting out the awning. The fact that you get full hookups (potable water, sewer hookup, 50, 30, & 20Amp connections) and Wi-fi was an added bonus. The route to and from the location was a bit on the adventurous side, however, that is what you bargain for when you are using HipCamp other wise stick to the freeways and the overcrowded RV Parks along the way. This is a single occupant site so you have total privacy with a great view of surrounding tree lined hills. We enjoyed sipping coffee watching a distant lighting storm and then awaking to song birds the next morning as the sunrise from the east spilled into our RV windows. We saw over a dozen deer that were feeding along the grassy hills up behind us and felt this was a very peaceful stay, which is why you do this. Will we be back to Country Meadows? Yes we will, hopefully this year. We would recommend you give this a try and if you need firewood, they sell it at the site.

This spot is so beautiful. It’s quiet, private and the views are amazing. There are some great sunset views over the mountains. We only had a couple days to spend here but I could easily see spending much longer. Everything is as described. It’s easy to find and easy to access. We have a 22ft camper and it fit with no issues. Highly recommend!!!

Absolutely beautiful and well maintained location! We were only there for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The dining table and firepit area was great. We visited the winery that's down the road. It was a perfect spot to hang out for a couple drinks and they're dog friendly!

Great spot right off the blue ridge parkway! Easy to find and easy to navigate. Beautiful views tucked in the meadows. Quiet and private. The covered pavilion and deck just enhanced the spot. Perfect for an overnight stay or longer. WiFi worked well and host was friendly and communicative.

I camped there the weekend of April 6th 2024 and found the grounds to be well maintained and quiet. It's nice having a sewer hookup at the site. The spot in centrally located to Floyd, Meadows of Dan, Willis and Chateaux Morrissette. The host warned me before arrival that I might need to reset the WIFI router if I lost connection. Turns out the router loses connection consistently after about 3 minutes and needs to be reset which requires a trip outside. You might want to take this into consideration if your weekend plans include streaming a movie, music or getting some work done. Best to check with the host before booking to see if this issue has been resolved if a connection is important to you. If you hike to the winery the hosts directions should be updated to say bare right at the end of state maintenance sign at the fork of the drives. Don't take the gated drive on the left. I'd revisit again as I enjoyed the view and the quiet setting.
