Nice, but mildly disappointed

The host was very helpful and the property was nice. The only note I would make is while there are 2 campsites, only one has a view (site 1). The other site looked more like an afterthought. While site 1 was nice, I was a little disappointed by the view as compared to the pictures. Large evergreens have been allowed to grow and obstruct much of the view seen in the pics posted, and the view was the main reason we chose this property. What could be seen was nice but I would recommend that more updated pictures be posted so that campers know what view they are getting.

Unfortunately, I didnât get to stay here due to a fallen tree blocking the road.
But Chris was very responsive and helpful, offering another spot to stay. I had already headed out so Chris was great with refunding the booking.
I will definitely be booking to try again in the future when the tree is gone!

We LOVED camping on this property! We wish we wouldâve booked a longer trip here and we will definitely be back! The hosts directions were perfect. It was so peaceful and because of the gravel, we didnât see many bugs. And NO mosquitos! We canât wait to book our next trip! Thanks for the great memories!

Absolutely beautiful and secluded location! The weather was not cooperative for my stay but I will definitely go back! My dogs loved being off leash here!

Fantastic campsite!

We loved camping here and hope to be back sometime! Site 1 has a great view and we had plenty of space for our pop up camper. We brought in all our wood and water, which was good since it had been raining and we didnât see much firewood around. Didnât really find any streams either so filtering water wasnât an option. It was so quiet and beautiful and we never saw or heard anyone else the whole weekend. The clouds cleared and we got to see the stars, which was so lovely. There arenât a ton of options for bathroom privacy since the woods are incredibly dense and not possible to walk into at the campsite, but it worked! We enjoyed camping here so much and highly recommend this site! Thanks, Chris!

I van camped on Chrisâs land. Since it was dry, the hills were no problem; Matt have been off it was wet. Pretty area! Super quiet and remote. Pictures arenât the most up to date, but it was still nice.

This was a dreamy spot to camp! After living in the Rockies, a lot of sites I saw at state parks made me feel like Iâd be camping in a parking lot. Not here! The solitude and stargazing canât be beat. I loved that site 1 was at the tree line for the surrounding hills and because of the gravel, the area was almost entirely mosquito free.
Even with storms over night, this was a truly great place to set up camp and Iâd love to do it again soon.

Whippoorwill Privacy Bright Stars

I moto camped in a tent. Very private and beautiful. The whippoorwill's in the early eve are fantastic. Woke up in the middle night and the stars were almost too bright. I stayed in site 1 because of the view.

It was beautiful! Very secluded which I love! No noise pollution or light pollution it was very relaxing. The stars were the best part!!! And the owner was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed! Very clear on the directions which was good because not much phone service which I also loved!

Great rolling hill views

This was a great campsite with views of the rolling hills. Directions to get there were very helpful. We enjoyed a nice evening with a view of a full moon.

Perfect spot to get away from it!

Great spot. We used the larger site to accommodate our Jeeps. You are really isolated on this property. Gorgeous view as well. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you are tent camping, you will be set up on gravel so bring a heavy ground tarp.

Awesome retreat near Hocking Hills

Awesome site, beautiful and peaceful. We had the land to ourselves in mid April 2023. Site 1 had a spectacular view at the top of a hill. Chris was a great host, responsive and we felt welcome to explore the trails around the land.
Things to know:
- cell service is spotty, I could send a few messages with Verizon. We downloaded offline Google maps to get back and forth from Hocking Hills. There wasnât service in Hocking Hill either so would have routes planned ahead of time if you plan to hike.
- itâs a beautiful, but quite rural area. Make sure to bring plenty of water. We didnât see a convenience store or firewood for sale within probably ~20 minutes. There was plenty of downed wood to collect on-site but if youâre not into gathering it or it has rained youâd need to pack in your own
- Youâre in the deep woods, bring DEET and make sure your pup is current on their flea and tick preventive
