Purchased in 2019, these overgrown acres are now a federally registered Farm with the crop being Trees, and have a 10 year Woodland Stewardship Management Plan with the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources. I will be working hard over the years to bring this back to a healthy stand of mixed hardwoods, full of wildlife habitat, and native vegetation. 2024 saw the start of our EQIP contract which includes killing the non-native invasives, like Tree of Heaven, Autumn Olive, Honeysuckle, and more. 2025 was planting, staking, and tubing of 800 tree seedlings, including Black Walnut, Red Oak, Scarlet Oak, Sugar Maple, Persimmon, and Tulip Poplar. 2026 we will be planting another 600 native trees and shrubs consisting of 55 species! Learn more about this land: Enjoy approximately 10 wooded acres with hiking trails cut throughout. A common area has a Fire Ring, Outhouse, Water Station, Picnic Tables and Seats, where you can socialize with fellow campers, whether they be family, old friends, or new acquaintances. Or you can retreat a short distance away to your own campsite, for some alone time. The two campsites are adjacent to each other, but divided by walls of brush and newly planted shrubs. You may hear other campers, but your space is well defined. It is approximately 100 ft from the center of one campsite to the next, and a similar distance from the center of each campsite to the common area. Hiking trails are cut throughout the woods, so feel free to explore. Just stay within the wire fence lines to avoid crossing onto neighboring private lands. The main pond seen from the parking area is off limits for liability reasons. I am working on a smaller ravine pond in the woods, which I will stock with fish for feeding. This is a Federal and State managed Woodland, so please do no harm to any living tree or plant. Feel free to pick up any dead wood for use in the fire ring. (Cut Firewood also provided for free at campsite. Do not bring your own firewood.) We have a self serve store, that will have charcoal, farm fresh eggs, and other seasonal and camping items. Bring some cash. 15 minutes from The Wilds. 10 minutes from I-70, New Concord exit. 15 minutes from I-77 and Cambridge, via 660.

One of three sites, adjacent to a Common Area. A short walk from parking you will find this site, which is a grassy area approximately 50ft x 100 ft, shaded by Walnut Trees. This site includes a 4x8 metal roofed lean-to that you can use to store belongings, or sleep in. Includes a park style charcoal grill at each site. (Charcoal, and other amenities like farm eggs, drinking water, pop, TP, etc. are available in our self serve store. Cash only.) A communal area is located a short distance away, where you will find an Outhouse, Water Station for filling buckets and washing hands, a Fire Ring with free firewood, Picnic tables and Seats. Tent in the picture is not included, but is there as a reference for the size of the site. Overlook Tent Site

This site is adjacent to a hill with an overlook into a valley. Includes a park style charcoal grill at each site. (Charcoal, and other amenities like farm eggs, drinking water, pop, TP, etc. are available in our self serve store. Cash only.) A communal area is located a short distance away, where you will find an Outhouse, Water Station for filling buckets and washing hands, a Fire Ring with free firewood, Picnic tables and Seats. Tent in the picture is not included, but is there for size reference of the site.

This site is newly planted with Northern White Cedar (aka Arborvitae) around the perimeter. Includes a park style charcoal grill at each site. (Charcoal, and other amenities like farm eggs, drinking water, pop, TP, etc. are available in our self serve store. Cash only.) A communal area is located a short distance away, where you will find an Outhouse, Water Station for filling buckets and washing hands, a Fire Ring with free firewood, Picnic tables and Seats. The setup was well thought out, everything I needed was right there. I really appreciated all the wood provided for the firepit, it made the evening cozy and relaxing. The location was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, just what I was hoping for. The dogs and I loved hiking through the woods, such a beautiful and serene experience.

We had a most wonderful stay at Bill's. The campsite is very private and well laid out. We really appreciated the firewood! Close to lots of outdoor adventures. We would definitely camp here again!!!

Fantastic last minute stay. I needed a place quickly and Bill was communicative and accommodating. The location was easy to find; parking was below their main building and camp was maybe 150 feet from there down a path/lane. Very easy access, but be prepared to haul stuff a little way to the camp. The actual campsite is fantastic. It’s very private, situated very nicely on a clearing surrounded by a heavily wooded area, a three sided shelter, fire pit, and latrine. There are a few short trails down over the hill. I heard coyotes and barred owls all night. Very lovely experience.

Great campsite! This was a perfect first camping experience for my dog. We were nervous to take her to a larger campground with other dogs and people nearby. She did great without the distraction of others! Bonus points to Bill for the large stock of very dry firewood!

Site was easy to access with plenty of firewood and all of the basics. The stars were so beautiful and there was a nice fire pit and lean-to. Gorgeous trees and a beautiful quiet setting. Definitely worth checking out, host was very accommodating for my last minute booking

We really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful Hipcamp. The hiking trails on the property were a major bonus. It was quiet, scenic, and perfect for exploring with our dogs. We also appreciated being just a short drive from nearby state parks for even more outdoor adventures. My husband and I left feeling refreshed and would definitely recommend this spot for a calm, dog-friendly getaway in nature.

I loved camping at Bill's place. You can tell he has spent a lot of time and energy to making a great camp spot. It was shaded, roomy and private. We enjoyed walking paths on the property as well! Would definitely go back!

The directions were well written and arriving went smoothly. The site was as described and felt very secluded. My dogs can be people reactive so I am always looking for private camping areas and this fit the bill. I have never felt more carefree to let them explore and enjoy themselves. My pups recalls are great but for others wondering, your dogs recall must be really good because most of the hiking trails are along a single wire fence with posted signs so a dog can easily walk under them without ever knowing they have crossed a boundary. The site has quite a few small hills, two small footbridges and a small creek that runs throught it. I have never seen my kids and dogs so relaxed, exhausted and happy. A fair warning during my visit there were torrential downpours and the hill down into the site is pretty steep which created a LOT of mud. The owner laid down rock and straw prior to my arrival to help with the mud which was SUPER helpful. All in all this site was phenomenal and I hope to visit again!!

We had the entire place to ourselves. Bill gave great directions to the spot and the signage was helpful. We had a wagon to carry our camp gear down and back up to the car which was super helpful since the site is a short hike into the wooded area. It was peaceful. We had no service - which is exactly what we wanted! Super grateful for the outhouse, firewood, and the amount of care put into the property!

Incredible spot! Thank you Bill! We camped on a rainy weekend and I’m so glad we picked this hipcamp. We appreciated the out house and lean to. There’s some nice trails to walk on his property. Shockingly we didn’t pick up any ticks so that was really nice. We heard owls and cows in the morning. Despite the wet conditions we stayed dry and had a wonderful time!

Our host, Bill, was excellent. Very communicative and up to date on any potential weather issues we were looking at that weekend. The site itself is secluded and well laid out. Very clean with a well built leanto to keep you and your gear out of the rain. The outhouse was exceptionalally clean as well. There is a hill going into camp (down going in, up going out) so wear decent footwear and don't mind the cardio- it's good for you. Thanks for a great weekend, Bill!

Bill's campsite was great! Quiet, secluded but not far from stores if needed, clean and well kept. Some nice trails through the woods to explore. Nice place for a weekend away from everything. Highly recommended and on my list of places to return to!

The site was great overall! The metal lean-to provided a place for us to put our non-tent stuff to keep it out of the elements. There was a nice plateau that was perfect for staking down our tent without any risk of being washed out (the forecast was nice, but it is Ohio, after all). The spool tables were also great for preparing food. I would definitely recommend this place! I kinda wish I would have paid more attention to the fact that it was a downhill hike from parking, that hill was much steeper than I'm used to. My legs were killing me! The fact the site was in a wooded valley did make it very nice since I didn't have to use sunscreen all day, and only during peak hours. To note: my husband and I aren't overly bothered by bugs, but we won't be recommending this site to any of our arachnophobic friends. It seemed like spiders were everywhere! So, to summarize: 10/10 campsite. Very cozy! Just not for your bug-phobic friends

Entrance was well marked, as well as trail. We had a camper so we mostly hung out around the parking area but we enjoyed several strolls around the grounds on the trail. We had two large dogs that really enjoyed it too! Overall we felt safe, comfortable and happy at this spot. Beautiful birdsong in the morning!

He offered a place to camp last minute when roads were too flooded to make it to Wayne National forest. The campsite even had an unexpected lively stream next to it. We were so grateful to have firewood and a lean-to in order to keep us a little warmer and dryer despite the rain/snow!

My husband and I loved staying on Bill's property with our dog. The site was very clean and included a nice lean - to that we used to store our gear, an outhouse, a table, a short hiking loop and free firewood! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness that Bill put into his campsite. Bill responds quickly and made a few recommendations for nearby places in case we needed any last minute essentials. Carridge Market has yummy sandwiches that we grilled over the fire ring. The short walk wasn't a problem for us to get to our secluded campsite, but it could be considered challenging for some, it's about 1/4 of a mile to camp. We stayed over fourth of July weekend, so I think there may have been more activity than usual with fireworks and dogs barking, but it was super easy to drown out, and everything was quiet by 10:30 - 11pm. Overall, we'd definitely recommend this listing and plan to be back! The fact that this site has a ton of tree coverage, clean outhouse, a lean-to and FREE dry firewood made this experience exceptional.

Amazing campground

What a magical place to be! My partner and I spent the weekend there with our two year old labradoodle and there was more than enough space for her to explore yet still stay close! We felt like we were in our own little world and it was perfect. The hike from car to camp is definitely something to plan for. Bring a wagon or pack lite!
