No potable water on site.

We felt the title was a bit misleading. It mentions the site has full hookups but you have the read the listing detail page to learn there is no potable water. We didn't plan ahead and had no fresh water, as we assumed we could fill our tank at the site. The site owner also didn't get back to us until we were leaving after our 2nd nite on site as he's having issues with his Hipcamp notifications.

An unexpected guest

This was a site with real possibilities. There was a fire pit and a great view across a pasture and across the road was a branch of the Hudson that offered great fishing opportunities. But, I was right next to his house. It was fine for me because he was away, but it could have been uncomfortable if he were home. I don’t know. Also, he did not know I was coming. He said the Hipcamp portal changed and he is no longer notified when people are camping on his site. HIpCamp, if that is true, you need to fix that pronto. I don’t like coming up to someone’s house without them knowing I have booked a night there.

Nice spot on West River Rd

We enjoyed staying two nights at Joshua's spot while visiting family nearby. The RV pad is next to the driveway/garage with full hook ups which was super convenient. The well maintained site has Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. West River Road is lovely. Maybe next time we'll bring our bikes and more time to enjoy the river from the dock across the road. As Joshua mentions in the listing, the water was hard, has a strong sulfur smell. Recommend bringing a filter wherever you go. We used an inline filter, completely took care of it. Happy Travels

Perfect place to stay, full hook ups, water did not smell like sulfur. Close to the road, not too difficult to park, with a lovely view. We stayed one night for the eclipse. Beautiful fire pit to use too. Joshua was very helpful and responsive. This would be a great place to stay in the summer if you’re visiting Saratoga or Glen Falls.

We just used the space as a pit stop for the night but everything was very clean and nicely set up. Great view of the stars at night too! I just wish I brought my fishing pole because he has a dock right across the street.

Back In. Shite Water.

Be prepared to back in from west river rd. This is not a turn-around capable spot. Also, plan on using your own fresh water for everything! We bring drinking water and we expect to use onsite-water for washing, flushing and showers. Now, on to the shower... if you don't mind showering in water that smells like rotten eggs, this place is for you. The sulfur smell had me gagging at the stench. It's truly awful. Like, gagging, awful. No. I'm not kidding. Strap yourself in to a 1/4-circle shower and let the fun begin!
The gravel is deep and soft, plan on taking your time parking.
p.s. the wooden ramp to The Hudson River is like walking on oiled, banana peels, on ice. Slippery, if you see where I'm going with this... It should have a sign. Ask my wife who I heard land flat on her back on the very slippery wood ramp. (Her dna is probably still there)

We loved camping at Joshua's beautiful grounds. Nothing beats the stunning sunsets.. I definitely
recommend his place, even though we had some issues with the water , he tried his best to have it fixed and made it work to the best if his ability. Thanks again for having us!

Hudson River stay

We loved Joshua’s campsite. We got to bike to the best iced cream place ever and kayak in the Hudson River. This place is a hidden gem. There is a sheep farm down the road where we purchased some great yarn. She even grows the dye plants.

Beautiful night sky! Amazing. Can be it's own dark sky park! Very quiet. Only heard a few cars between 10pm and 6am. Awesome hospitality. Josh was really nice. We forgot our 50 to 30amp converter and he let us borrow his. Felt very safe despite being in the middle of nowhere. Close to Saratoga Springs which is super cute. We stayed 1 night passing through. Would recommend.

Great RV pad in scenic locale.

Lovely RV pad with a 50 amp plug, and dump site. The pad is loose deep gravel. You will need a male 50-30 amp or less to use. We had the wrong one and the host had one, as did Lowe's in Glens Falls. The Hudson river is right across the low traffic street, and plenty of room to walk the dogs. A fire pit and chairs were a nice touch, and there was a smaller set on the dock on the river. We watched a seaplane land right in front of us.

The site was as advertised, clean, comfortable, and organized with all the hookups we needed (water, electric, sewage). It was easy to find and Joshua was communicative and responsive. He was accommodating and helpful! It was everything we needed!
