Hambone's Hideaway in the Pines
Tiny home · Sleeps 4NOTE: WE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MAY 22, 2025, DESPITE WHAT THE CALENDAR MAY SAY! PLEASE COME SEE US AFTER MAY 22! Of our three tiny houses at Bugs in a Jar Farm, Hambone's Hideaway in the Pines is our most popular. It offers the most seclusion and privacy for those wanting to get away from the crowds. As the name implies, it also offers deep shade most of the hot summer. Relax in the hammock under the pines or on the private screened porch, and enjoy the hilltop breeze. Seahorse has its own private outhouse, although the community bathroom and kitchen are a short walk away. There is private off-street parking nearby. IMPORTANT NOTE: THE HOST, SAM, WAS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT IN APRIL, 2025, AND IS PHYSICALLY NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN HIS TINY HOUSES TO THE LEVEL HE IS ACCUSTOMED TO. MINIMALLY, GUESTS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN BED SHEETS AND FIREWOOD THIS SUMMER. BEFORE RESERVING, YOU NEED TO MESSAGE THE HOST FOR A FULL DISCLOSURE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS YEAR. ONCE YOUR RESERVATION IS CONFIRMED, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH SAM TO MAKE SURE WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT. Please see our YouTube channel, Finger Lakes Tiny Houses For VRent, for videos on this and our other tiny houses we have available. Hambone's Hideaway in the Pines is the farthest tiny house from the main house, the community kitchen, and the full bathroom, though it is still a short, easy walk to the main house, and there is a driveway that leads most of the way up the hill, with its own private parking space. It is set in a shady grove of white pines, so offers the coolest campsite in the hot summer. We have added a beautiful side screened porch to escape any bugs or rain (not reflected in the photos). There is an outhouse available for those who don't want to make the walk to the community bathroom. Each tiny house comes with its own picnic table, fire ring, and grill. There is a 2000-watt battery powered generator that offers a limited amount of power (charge batteries, lights, fan, coffeepot, etc.).Bugs In a Jar Farm is about 15 miles south of Ithaca, in the beautiful Finger Lakes. It is almost adjacent to the Finger Lakes Hike and Bike Trail. The land consists 14 acres of forest and open space, with a beautiful creek and several small pond.
