Enjoy 40 acres of semi-backcountry themed camping next to a 18-hole disc golf course. Stay in an airplane, VW bus, or shepherds wagon. Remote and private far away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to civilization if needed. There are several rock outcroppings, tons of trees and a seasonal creek and waterfall. There is a moderate hike to/from the sites, we can take you and your gear to it via utv or if you have Awd SUV or 4wd, you can drive to the sites. Close to the historic gold-mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek. Take the Gold-belt byway scenic driving loop down Phantom Canyon to Canon City and back via Shelf Road. Fishing is 20 minutes away at Skagway Reservoir.

Shepherds Wagon
Great spot! Great hosts!
Tami and Larry were the best hosts! They met us up front to make sure we got to the spot safely, even showing us where the bathrooms were. Nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in the wilderness. They are right on phantom canyon road and make for the perfect spot to stay on their property and explore or get in the car and enjoy the beauty of the canyon. I will definitely be coming back to stay in the other spots!

1970's Restored Cessna Airplane
We had a great stay in the Airplane with our Pup Juno. Such a peaceful experience and I loved the location. Super unique camping spots too if you’re looking for something different! Our hosts were super helpful and friendly as well. We appreciate the detailed directions (: thank you we will definitely be back!

Shepherds Wagon
Amazing Experience! 20/10!!
This was probably one of my all time favorite camping trips I haven ever been on! The covered wagon was perfect for my partner, me and our dog, just make sure to bring your own pillows and blankets! Also when getting to the location we found the best way to get there (from Denver) is first type in you destination for Alta Vista Golf Course, it will take you through Woodland Park and Victor which is much quicker than the way the GPS typically takes you (through Canon City) and then follow the signs for the Hipcamp camp grounds from there! The bathrooms were extremely clean and very close to the camp grounds which was convenient. The location sits on a great pice of land that we were able to explore for hours each day we were there. We were able to visit Rita the troll which is just a 10 minute drive from the camp ground, and Cripple creek, which was only 20 from the grounds. Our host were very prompt and were available for any questions we had. I do suggest getting the propane tank for the fire pit, and bringing a portable stove if planning on cooking, the pits are not set up for food preparation. This little site we found is an amazing hidden gem in Colorado and I cannot wait to visit again.

1960's VW Bus
Solo female with a dog!
My puppy and I loved camping here! It is secluded so you have privacy, and just a short walk from the outhouse. As a solo female, I felt completely safe the entire time. The scenery is stunning, and Tami and her husband are amazing. They came up to check on my dog and I because they thought my pup might be upset by the sounds of hunting (completely out of their control). They are so kind, and made our stay amazing. We’ll be back for sure!

1970's Restored Cessna Airplane
We really enjoyed our night here! We brought a tent and pitched next to the porch since we had our dog too. The most beautiful views and peaceful, quiet spot. We would come back again. Also, there was a short rain shower that evening and a beautiful double rainbow right after 😁

1960's VW Bus
Loved it here!
This stay was everything we expected and more. The drive through Phantom Canyon was gorgeous. The bus was fresh and clean. We hiked around on the property, great views and beautiful wildflowers. Check out the Cessna or the covered wagon while you are there! It was perfect for our first night camping with our 1 year old! The hosts were so kind and welcoming! I will be back if I’m in the area! A 10/10!!
