Secluded spot with great views!
The views from the site are stunning and definitely are what made this place a must visit for us, not to mention being so close to GSDNP as well as how secluded and quiet it is out here! Overall we really enjoyed our weekend at this tiny home that we knew had so many amenities (i.e. pots and pans, dishes, utensils, stovetop, bedding, outhouse, etc), so we slimmed down our normal camping gear thinking we would have reliable solar power for lighting, charging devices, and keeping food cool. However we ended up being slightly under prepared when many of those amenities fell through, so here are some things we learned the hard way so others can be prepared prior to their visit:
-watch for black widow spiders 🕷️ (they were nesting in the propane box as well as above the porch swing)
-do not count on the mini fridge (the solar power did not last us through either of the nights and all our food spoiled by the morning of day two so bring a cooler if you want things to reliably stay cold)
-WiFi hotspot that’s included only got one bar max so we just left it off for most of the trip (we love being unconnected on trips anyways so that wasn’t a deal breaker) but FYI for others looking to stay here expecting connection for work purposes, the cell service is not bad outside the tiny home
Would we stay here again? YES
Would we pack differently knowing what we know now (i.e. bringing a cooler & power bank for charging devices at night)? YES
