Camping with a view
Awesome host greatest us at the site and gave us fire wood! So nice!
Its more of a field type area vs mountain camping. We were the only tent and had lots of pretty views. Would recommend if wanting that type of environment!

Would love to see some more trees in the area and maybe some flat ground for tents but over all it was a lovely stay. Great host. Good price. Would recommend and would return!

Private, quiet, beautiful views. Christina's son does live there, but he's a really nice guy and respects your privacy. Kinda nice to have someone who knows the country there!

Great Views, Location, and Host
We were able to find the property without any difficulties; extra instructions were kindly provided in case there were any hiccups. We were greeted right away on arrival, and told everything we needed to know to get started setting up. We had a large area to choose from to set up our tent, which was almost flat and was easy to camp on.
What wonderful views! Mountains in every direction with large open areas to watch the clouds pass over as the Pronghorn grazed and ran through the grass. At dawn, we saw about a dozen of the animals run gracefully right in front of our tent!
Everything was so quiet and peaceful! Being respectful in that regards helps a lot here; the animals get so close sometimes and it is wonderful to watch.
I believe the host is building a cabin on site, which was being worked on when we arrived. There was never any issue of noise or disruption, however! Work ended early in the evening (which was taking place almost 100 yards away, so hardly to be heard anyways). In the morning, I noticed that the host was on site. It wasn't until at least 8:45 AM that any work was resumed, and even then I think it was only started because he had heard *me* finally starting to make noise packing up.
Everything was perfect, for what it was: a peaceful, clean place to camp in the open under the stars and mountains. We appreciated having the respectful host nearby (but not too close by). We would recommend this listing to anyone!

Camping at 10,000 feet!
Lovely spot of land with a Mountain View. A herd of antelope grazed across the way each morning. There was a grill, fire pit, and firewood on site. As it was early spring, no portapotty yet but host was helpful on how to deal with that. Wonderful spot, wonderful most! Google maps takes you to the correct location, Apple Maps does not.

Quiet, beautiful views
Great, quiet campsite with beautiful views of the valley and 11 mile reservoir. Loved that firewood was provided and the new firepit is great! Would definitely return. BUT be sure to read the directions carefully - GPS takes you about 15 minutes down the road!

Had a great time with our two dogs in our teardrops maiden voyage. The campsite and bathroom were clean. It was a little confusing figuring out where exactly we were supposed to camp so we just pulled out into the field and set up. There are some small cactus so be careful! The view was amazing and for the most part thr weather was on our side.

Nice spot near 11 mile
We really enjoyed our time at JT Haven. The port-a-potty was very clean which we all appreciated. The wide open space provides great opportunities to stargaze at night and beautiful views in the morning as the sun rises. We enjoyed the cows grazing and hanging out near us. Close to eleven mile reservoir, it only took us about 20 minutes to get to some fishing spots. Christina was responsive to all our questions and very helpful. The grill, chimenea and picnic table were a nice touch.
It can get a little windy at times but nothing to worry about too much. If you are in a tent make sure you stake everything down securely and you will be fine.

Upon arrival this was not quite what we were expecting from the description and site map. It makes it appear that you will be out in a field away from the other sites- and that is not the case. You will be parking if in an RV right on a gravel driveway next to the owner’s RV and any other guest’s RV- very close together. Luckily for us- the owners weren’t there the weekend we stayed and our neighbor was great- kept to himself. We were able to orient our RV in a way that was slightly more private. But it was definitely not how we were envisioning the layout. That being said- great 360 degree views of the mountains, very open on the backside of the site. The firewood is a great addition. I would recommend staying here if you are OK being right next to other campers and don’t want a more private site. Owners were very responsive and gave good directions.

I brought my family of 5 (4.5 yo, 2.5 yo, 0.5 yo) up to JT Haven for the weekend. We had an amazing time. There was one other camper, but plenty of space kept the feeling of privacy. It was a quick drive to Spinney Mountain Reservoir and a little longer to 11 Mile Reservoir State Park. Beautiful views of the stars at night, the Milky Way was very bright. Christina was a great host.
