This place exemplifies what is magic about Joshua Tree. The sites are fun and electric. We are on 2 5 acres of western style ranch. Views from the pool deck. Fun horseshoes, movie theater, pool table, and stargazing. Close to Joshua Tree Natl Park. Beautiful views of Big Bear Mtn. Close to the Integraton. Dog friendly
This campsite offers a comfortable and well-equipped retreat close to Joshua Tree National Park, with many guests appreciating the peaceful, clean, and unique atmosphere. Janna, the host, is frequently praised for her friendliness and accommodating nature, ensuring visitors feel welcomed and looked after. While most reviews highlight the positive experiences, a few mention the rustic charm, noting the occasional lack of warm water. Overall, it's a favored spot for its proximity to the park, comfortable accommodations, and the array of amenities available for a relaxing stay.
We had a lovely stay! Janna was a perfect host- thoughtful, welcoming and had everything we needed ready for us. Unfortunately, we decided to leave early due to weather, but we’d absolutely love to return. Highly recommend for a peaceful and unique getaway!
Such a beautiful property! Very peaceful and clean. Our host was great! She greeted us as we arrived and showed us around the property. The property was quiet and made for a great night sleep! Highly recommend!!!
Janna is a wonderful and friendly host. Her place is great if you're ok with rustic places. But just keep in mind, you might not have warm water when washing your face!
The Hideout was perfect for my family of 4 this weekend! Janna is lovely and communicated really well. The site has so many great amenities, including many places to build a fire, a pool table, horseshoes, a place to grill, an outdoor shower, and more. The beds in the tent were super comfortable with plenty of blankets. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Joshua Tree.
Another perfect getaway to the Hideout.
As always Jan makes me feel like family.
The trailer is neat and tidy and adorable.
The grounds are fun and upbeat and there is something interesting and eclectic to catch your eye at all the sites The sunsets were beautiful from the overlook deck.
Jan is a perfect host. Available for whatever you could need.
I can't wait to return.
Janna’s place was great! The tent had everything we needed and the location was just a hop skip and a jump away from the Joshua Tree main gate. We had fun playing pool and eating our meals in the kitchen prep area. It was a bit chilly in the desert in December, but there were plenty of blankets in the tent to keep warm. I would recommend staying here if you get the chance!
We had an absolutely amazing time! Being able to take a hot shower and cook a hot meal on the grill really was a blessing after hiking all day. Instructions on how to use the kitchen area and shower were easy to follow. I would highly recommend staying here any time of year!
Jana was amazing! Communication was great and the place as described! She went above and beyond to make our stay pleasurable. We will come back again in the future! My recommendation is to come earlier fall, we came late November (winter) was a little cold and windy, so if you are coming from a warmer place like us :) We loved the kitchen/bar area, and the fire pit :) . 100% recommended if you are going to Joshua Tree!!! Thank you so much!
This place is awesome. We stayed in the glamping tent and the host provides everything you need for a fantastic camping experience. While we were there it was a little too windy to take advantage of the outdoor shower, but what a great commodity to have available? The shared cookspace makes meal prep really easy. They also have a coffemaker onsight that was a big help to getting our morning started. Hosts were amiable and easygoing, allowed us to use their firepit and seemed extremely laidback. Would highly recommend and will definitely return if I find myself in the area again.
Private and very quiet camper. Very sweet hosts with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Shower is outside and a little chilly in the winter, but warm water!
I loved camping here. The tent was nice and cozy. Had everything I needed. I LOVED the outdoor shower. It was close enough to the National Park. I enjoyed my stay.
Such a beautiful and convenient campsite for visiting Joshua Tree. Everything was clean and comfortable, we were able to cook several of our meals and use the coffeemaker Janna had on offer. As a note, Janna did say that people don’t usually drink the water from tap there, and while it’s usable for cooking and washing dishes she recommended we bring our own water or have our own filter. Not a big deal, water was readily available for sale on the way to the national park, but I had originally thought the potable water listing meant we would have drinking water at the site. This was my first time using hipcamp, and Janna’s tent was a pleasure to use (+even more so to not have to pack and unpack a tent for a short visit)!
Directions to the place was very clear. When I got there, Janna took the time to show me around the property. It is a beautiful place! The tent that my furbaby and I stayed at is very spacious and well-decorated. This is my first time camping/glamping with just my furbaby and it was a blast! I will keep this place on my rotation! Thank you, Janna and Chuck!
We loved this property and Jan and Chuck were great hosts. The outdoor kitchen and shower were so fun, the yurt was comfortable and we enjoyed laying by the pool and hanging out and playing pool in the evening. We were able to see the northern lights during our stay and that was really special.
Fantastic accommodation in the TP-Tent. Enough cross breeze to cool down the tent after a hot day. It was great having electricity to the tent to be able to run the fan and also re-charge all the devices. Not to mention the comfortable King size bed!
Jana and Chuck are lovely hosts and very helpfull.
The property itself has basic cooking facilities, but we did find everything we needed, incl. a BBQ. The outdoor shower is refreshing and does have hot water. We found the location great to explore the differenct sides of Joshua Tree National Park and also quite central to go to Palm Sprints and Pioneer Town. Had stunning sunsets and sunrises and did cool off in the shade by the pool after a long day hiking. If you like off the beaten track accommodation and don't need the glizt and glamour, this place is for you.
We loved the yurt camping! About 20-30 minutes from the park entrance and close to a market. The yurt was clean and a lot more spacious than expected. Showers and kitchen space are communal. The saddle bar was very cool. It was very windy and cold at night but there was a small space heater and extra blankets.
Jana was very helpful and kind. We stayed in the yurt. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. The grounds were clean and had the amenities that had been stated. The only thing that was disappointing was the pool was not open for use, this could be because it was not in season. The one recommendation we would have is tonight use such strong, smelling cleaner or air freshener in the yard as it was very overpowering if you are sensitive to chemical Perfume smells. Will also say that it is a bit of a drive if you’re going into Joshua tree national park, it was about a half hour. This would be a great place to stay if you had a large amount of people and really wanted to take advantage of the pool table, for shoes, etc.
Janna was the epitome of hospitality and helped our first stay in Joshua tree very memorable. Had a grill outside for us to cook our food and a heated to warm up where we stayed as well
My son and I had a good time at Janna's place in the desert. The warm shower and bed were welcome after camping in Joshua Tree Park. It was cold and windy weather during our stay. Janna had extra blankets and offered us a heater which we used. The pool wasn't open which was unexpected but the option of playing pool in the pool room was fun! 29 Palms is an excellent entry point into Joshua Tree Park. Janna's place is a reasonable drive from town for groceries/dollar store/bakery.
Our group really enjoyed our stay here! There’s a great outdoor kitchen and multiple fire pits. There’s a great view from the patio as well. The weather was freezing so the tent was a little cold, but Jan provided a little heater that helped warm the space. We will definitely consider coming back in the future!
Such a fun location with a wonderful host! Her property is so unique with multiple areas to hangout and enjoy!
