Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We live in a sweet, little farm town with recreation all around us! We have biking and hiking trails, natural hot springs, Silver Creek fishing and canoeing/rafting/swimming all within 15 minutes from camp! We are 20 minutes west of Craters of the Moon National Park, 15 minutes from Silver Creek Preserve, 1hr from Shoshone Falls, 1hr from Sun Valley and 1 hr 30 minutes from Hagerman hot springs and fossil beds. Our 1/2 acre straw bale camp is open for two Hipcamp sites, divided by a natural privacy fence.  There is plenty of space at camp for yard games, running around and playing!  We live next door to camp and are kitty corner from the Oasis/Exxon station that provides RV dump, propane, fresh water, wifi and air fill up.  We hope you enjoy your stay!

Golden Sheaves
Jen was extremely welcoming and helpful. She gave us a whole list of things to do in the area and when asked whether there were sticks to roast marshmallows at the campsite, she cut them off the trees herself and laid them on the firepit for us to use. This site would probably be better for RVs just because the ground, though flat, has a lot of random bunches of grass and spots of mulch that don't make it the most comfortable to set up a tent and lay on, but it was still quite enjoyable. The campsite is small, and right off the road (you can see the street from the campsite), but was perfect for just a one night stay before we explored Craters of the Moon (and the street itself is a side road with only residential traffic). The campsite is also right next door to a house, so it's not the most secluded or private, but there are fields surrounding the other sides with goats, sheep, chickens, and an occasional donkey and cow. There was also a sweet outdoor cat that made the occasional appearance, though she never approached us. All in all, it was an enjoyable time for a lowkey camping experience.

Golden Sheaves
Basically just a largish fenced area to park and sleep, which is all we needed for easy access to Craters of the Moon, but without having to worry about finding a spot "first come first serve" in the monument's campground. As others have pointed out, there's no shade, but the late August evening cooled off quick enough that we were comfortable in our van.

Golden Sheaves
Very peaceful and beautiful camp
This property was so cute!! We had come to explore Craters of the Moon, and it was so nice having the privacy and quiet of this campsite, as opposed to staying in the park itself. The owners were so nice and helpful and we loved the little benches they had by the site that we used. If I come to this area again, I'll definitely be camping here again.

Golden Sheaves
Excellent, friendly, accommodating host with great resources for enjoying your time in the area. The spot is minimal, relatively well maintained, and has moderate privacy. Verizon signal is weak, T-Mobile good.

Golden Sheaves
The hosts were great and the lawn was perfect for our 5th wheel and camper van. Our children also loved the see saw. We also loved being close to the dump and potable water. We would definitely recommend The Golden Sheaves! Thank you!!
