Come spend a relaxing time at the base of one of the mountain foothills in stunning Star Valley, WY with a view over a rippling creek below, ranches spread across the valley floor, and watch the sunrise over the mountains on the other side! As the only camper on our 17 acres surrounded by several larger ranches, you will be overlooking part of the old Oregon Trail in the valley below. Above and around you are a rocky hillside covered with wild berry bushes, many songbirds, and larger wildlife like deer, snowshoe hares, elk, foxes, and coyotes. A moose or bear might even wander by. The hillside rises steeply behind you, turning into more mountains as it climbs out of sight.
It is generally a quiet rural area about 6 miles from a town with gas, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, laundromat, camper showers, and other amenities available. There are many trailheads for hiking nearby as well as fishing access to the main river at multiple points across the valley. The Star Valley and Oregon Trail history museums in town provide a fascinating look into the history of this valley. And the largest intermittent spring in the world is a beautiful short hike from a nearby trailhead.
In the summer you'll probably hear Red Winged Blackbirds singing in the willows along the creek below and spot brilliant Western Tanagers flitting among the bushes. Bring your binoculars and some patience and you will likely spot a huge variety of other birds as well! This hillside is tucked in the middle of many working ranches so you might see cowboys ride by on horseback, a herd of cows being moved from one pasture to another, or 4 wheelers moving around depending on the time of year.
This is a boon-docking site with no water, power, or toilet available. Just lots of nature and views! Plan for pack it in/pack it out and help us keep this spot of nature a place where many people can enjoy the peace of time in the mountains. The parking spot its self is a flat graveled pad suitable for rigs up to a 26 feet in length or tent camping. A small sitting area with a pair of chairs is provided for you to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise if you like. There is a gravel lane that comes up the hill from the paved county road below, and then the campsite sits off to the side of that tucked into a corner of the steep hillside. Family lives in a cabin further up the hillside, but out of both sight and earshot from the campsite. Sadly no campfires due to the danger of a wildfire. Camp stoves are just fine.
We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog.
Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss.
Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

Located at the base of Wolverine Canyon is our little slice of heaven called Wolverine Ranch. It is a 100 year old working cattle ranch. The Camp is located in the Headquarters Wolverine Ranch and we decided to name it Wolverine Adventures after a saying that Kelly and Robyn's family has. If something has to be done on the Ranch that is of a more difficult nature, we ask one another "What time is it? Adventure time!" This gets us through the more demanding tasks on the Ranch and allows us to have fun and humor through it all.
As you pull through the Juniper log archway you will drive right through the corrals. Gates may be closed but are to contain cattle and horses, not to keep people out. Come on in and please close the gate behind you.
Wolverine and Jones Creeks run through camp and we do allow catch and release fishing with an Idaho Fishing License of course. Camp is the perfect place to unwind after driving all day and unplug from the busy world outside of the gates. THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AT CAMP!! You may get signal a short walk up a hill above camp. We do allow campfires but only in the community fire pit area. There is a hot water shower with 180 degree views of the Juniper covered hills while you wash the stress away. We do also have a flushing toilet and potable water right in camp. We do offer a few add on Adventures such as trail rides or Ranch tours. These will need to be discussed in advance of your arrival. Communication with Robyn is encouraged via HipCamp messaging as we often are out of service and need to know an approximate ETA. We prefer to meet every guest and help you get settled in, answer any questions, and apprise you of any information you will need to enjoy your stay. There is abundant wildlife that frequent The Camp, including White Tailed Deer, Mule Deer, Song Birds, Racoons, skunks, and snakes. We do allow pets, however they must be on leash and under control at all times, The Camp has resident chickens and cattle and horses are always nearby.

And of course Palisades reservoir, a 20 mile long stretch of water is just 3 miles from camp. The dam keeps the water flow of the snake at optimal flow all season.

Bristol is bordered by the Portneuf River to the North and Mt Moh to the South, offering river access and a host of trails. Fishing in the river is great, boasting rainbow, cut throat, brook and brown trout. There's also a few great swimming holes right below the property, including a 15 ft. waterfall. Guests may hike trails to the old mines, or be directed to a plethora of trails for biking nearby. The setting at Bristol is uniquely peaceful for the busy tourist town of Lava Hot Springs. Although still technically within city limits, the place offers an atmosphere of it's own, seemingly outside of time. Once a miners camp and stage coach stop along the Oregon Trail, we have worked hard to maintain the buildings and grounds. With an abundance of trees, (bonus if you can name all varieties) the main compound is well shaded through the hot summer months. Our single room, quaint cabins have a shared bathroom with showers and towels available. We are a minutes walk from the hot springs and downtown, so no need to fight for a parking spot!

This has become a great place for our family to go to get away for the weekends.
The nights are absolutely beautiful and you can see the stars.
You can hear the coyotes off in the distance chipping and howling.
My kids love to ride their ATV on the trails and we go for hikes and just relax.
There is one fire pit for use at each camp spot (2 spots), just please go into the trees and find some wood to re-stack what you have used and ensure it is out with water and dirt. I fight wildfires during the summer and don’t want to have to fight one up there. Plus I may be hard to reach depending on where I’m located.

Our Bear Lake Bascamp is perfect for boondocking or pitch a tent and camp in our 5 acres meadow or find a small shady spot in the 5 acres of quakies and pine trees! Off grid camping! OHV trails (ride from camp), bring your mountain bikes or even just go for a hike. Located at the edge of the Caribou-Targhe National Forest, Montpelier Ranger District, Idaho. The sunrises are amazing and in the evening you can listen to the coyotes off in the distance. It is open in the winter for snowshoeing or snowmobiling in with wood ready for the fire pit! Recommend, that when you first arrive, build a small fire in the fire pit and the smoke will get rid of any of the bugs around. We get up there about 1 time a month and mow/trim the path, parking and work on the trails in the pines. Turn left at the smile face....When you see it, you'll know what I mean ;) Please be respectful of others who have property in the area as well. Don't climb over anyone's fences.

It was a great experience over July 4th in our campervan. The view is spectacular, the spot is incredibly quiet and all folks we met, have been so amazing.
If you are looking to be on your own and like to be secluded, it's a easy accessible and leveled spot.

We absolutely loved this yurt and cannot wait to go back! It was very clean and super cozy. Very private as well. Jennifer was very kind and great to communicate with. We explored Lava Hot Springs and Chesterfield, got to enjoy an intense lightening storm and just overall got to relax and escape reality for a bit. The amenities were endless, and the board games provided were a highlight to our trip! We hope to make this a regular spot for our get-away needs!

My son and I loved our stay at the Riverview campsite. There was plenty of free firewood on the property. The sunset was phenomenal as was the mayfly hatch which had the fish jumping out of the water. Bathrooms were clean, outdoor ahower was nice, road noise was non disruptive, and the host was super friendly and very helpful. Its a great spot!

Had a lovely stay at this campsite with my family! Had all the amenities and the showers/bathroom were very clean and well kept. They also had washer and dryer for use which was super nice. Will definitely be back in the future!

Loved it. Great host. Responsive. Fun land. Had a toilet bring tp obv. Fun to hike above. It got rainy and we drove 30 min for dinner at a chicken restaurant. We drove bear lake too! It's 30 min from all that.
KEEP IN MIND FOR DRIVING (we got Lost): you'll get on the dirt road like the host says and take it past a place on the left bottoms up (or something similar in name. You'll see LA dodgers sign on right, keep going until the T and make a left. At that tee there's a fancy iron gate. When you go down the hill after the left you'll eventually find ASPEN ROAD that is where you make a left and you'll see the gate as discussed. You'll go up and up past a house or two. You'll see the spot on the right. Can't miss it with the play house and the #2 on a tree.

Perfect spot to put a tent for a night! I stayed here after a day exploring in the Tetons. The drive from the NP to the camp was easy and about 1.5 hours. The tent sites are a bit close to each other but everyone was friendly and respectful. The lodge bathroom was super clean. I caught a beautiful sunset while putting up my tent! I would definitely stay again!

Funny farm is a lovely spot! The hosts were so nice and welcoming, the spot is beautiful and they even had fire wood ready for us when we arrived. We would definitely come back and recommend it!

Not only is Adam a top notch host, his land is breathtaking. Make sure you hike up the mountain to see the dome and the views. Super easy to get to and just a few minutes from town. I highly recommend!

Bryce & Nellie are incredible people and so helpful. On top of that the campground was beautiful! So well taken care of, great clubhouse with laundry, a shower and bathroom. And the views are so amazing. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for having us and being so willing to help us fix some issues we had with our trailer. 1000/10!

I loved staying in my travel trailer on Bryce & Nellie’s land! The views were incredible, it was nice and quiet, and everyone who stayed there was super helpful when we had a slight issue with our trailer. Will absolutely be coming back! I’d recommend this spot to anyone.

Overview
About
The smaller of the two parks in Caribou-Targhee National Forests, Caribou is a welterweight not to be underestimated. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance.
Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

Very nice campground! Some sites are very private. Overlooks, nature trails and trail heads all near by. Don't forget to check out all the loops. $12/night, or reserve online at recreation.gov.

We arrived late, right after the sun set. When we got there, we weren't sure if this was truly the campground because there was no one else there. There were two trailers parked there, but they don't look like they had anyone inhabiting it. I think they were just parked there. There is a vault toilet, but the lock is broken, so if there are other folks at the campground, make sure you have a buddy watch the door for you. The place is super creepy at night, as there were cows wandering around. Cow pies everywhere, so watch your step. Probably won't come here again, as this place had a major creepy factor to it.

This is a great campsite. You're close(ish) to Bear Lake's North Beach, but far enough up in the mountains that you get cooler temperatures, a little privacy, and some fairly dark skies.
We've stayed here twice—once in Site 13, and once in Site 14. All of the sites are fairly isolated and well-maintained, but Site 13 offers a little more privacy and is the better option. Mosquitoes are bad in the early-summer, but are almost non-existent by early-August. There's plenty of deadfall, so don't bother bringing firewood.
The CG is about 15 miles from North Beach, and ~22 miles from Garden City, UT. Minnetonka Cave is just a few miles above the campground, and is a nice diversion if you're too sunburned to go back to the beach.
