El Valle Ranch
Great views
El Valle is a great spot with beautiful views. The only downside was if you are pulling a small camper, it’s a pretty rough road. DJ was very nice and really accommodating.

El Valle Ranch
If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to pitch a tent, El Valle Ranch is a nice spot. Upon our arrival to El Valle Ranch, our kind host, DJ, warmly welcomed my husband and I to his Hipcamp. He generously took the time to show us around the property and highlight all the available amenities/ facilities at this Hipcamp, as well as offer some great recommendations on local attractions. During our stay at El Valle Ranch, my husband and I set up our tent on one of the two tent sites offered at this Hipcamp. The plot was open with great views of the surrounding mountain range. The site came equipped with a fire-ring and access to potable water. Along with the campsite, we had access to walk the entire property-- which yielded some interesting finds; there was an abundance of rocks, minerals, and animal skeletal remains (including elk). DJ told us that the land was once inhabited by the Ute people, and that he routinely finds archaeological evidence of their occupation. He also said that a mining area nearby meant finding gold on the property would not be surprising. My husband and I were on the hunt for arrowheads and gold nuggets, but came out of the experience having had only a lot of fun in our searching and scouring. Thank you, DJ, for your genuine hospitality. It was a real pleasure meeting you. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our time at your Hipcamp.
