RVers love San Diegoâs perfect combination of natural beauty and cultural attractions.
Whether youâre driving down from Los Angeles, over from Arizona, or up from Mexico, when you pull into San Diego, relaxation takes over. Beloved for its year-round (mostly) perfect weatherâbeware of the May and June marine layerâSan Diego has enough to do to keep your RV parked for weeks. Silver Strand State Beach is bordered by both the ocean and San Diego Bay and offers swimming, surfing, and boating, while Torrey Pines State Beach stretches below a clifftop nature preserve with hiking trails. Check out Balboa Park for museums, gardens, and the San Diego Zoo, or Mission Bay for standup paddleboarding and kitesurfing. Cabrillo National Monument has a short hiking trail and expansive ocean views. In La Jolla, go kayaking and look for marine life along the rocky shore. Waterfront RV parks on the bays fill up quickly, so book well in advance or look a little bit inland to find available spots.
