River's Edge is a four season adventure company in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, outfitting adventurers with equipment and guidance. The property is located on the Manitowish River, Heart of Vilas County bike trail, and Iron County snowmobile trails. By car we're about eight minutes from WinMan Trails, ten minutes from MECCA Trails and Mercer, three minutes from Manitowish Waters. As we're right on the bike path, riding to lunch or dinner is easy, with lots of yummy options close by.
We have two campsites on our property, primarily for adventurers looking for a central basecamp location from which to go do all the fun things we have available in the Northwoods. Campsites are located on the west end of the property, in proximity to all the activities, and include full hookups, a picnic table and fire ring.
Site One is closest to the river and bike path. It's more secluded and separate from the main lodge area. Of the two sites, this is the best if you plan to hang around camp and chill. It does have trees lining the parking space, so if you have a trailer above 11'-13' be careful backing in.
Site Two is right off of the main parking area next to the lodge building. While we're working on natural barrier growth, it is kind of in the middle of activity during our busy seasons. It is, however, the easiest to back into with a large trailer. If you're looking for a convenient place to bring your RV or trailer and don't mind being less secluded, this is for you. If you're looking for a national forest experience, this is not for you.
The main lodge is open for use until 10pm-ish. There are couches, tables and board games available for guests. A bathroom is available for campers in the lodge, however there is no shower. We highly recommend The Manitowish Waters Athletic Club for shower facilities, hot tub, and pool. Day passes are reasonably priced and the facility is extremely well appointed. It's about three minutes by car or ten by bike.
Campers get a discount on rental equipment. Wifi is available in the lodge.
Our sites are open year-round, although water service will be turned off when temps are below freezing.

I stayed the weekend at Adventure Basecamp and it was amazing!
The site is right across from the Manitowish River so it was easy for me to carry my paddleboard/gear to the launch. The site is fairly private for being right next to a business. Also, there was a nice level spot for my tent.
Fishing was amazing, the logs right to the left of the launch are loaded with nice bass.
River's Edge staff are also awesome people and very helpful. The owner, Chris came and introduced himself when I was up at the lodge to use the wifi, he was very friendly and gave me some pointers about the area.
I stayed as a sole female camper and felt safe the entire time.
Use of the lodge is also great, I did not have much for service in the area so it was nice to be able to use the wifi to send fish pictures to my friends!
If you are into paddle sports, this is the perfect place to stay. 10/10, would camp here again :)

Great location for the bike trails. That is the main reason for our visit and the trailhead was right across the street. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. The screened in porch was fantastic for playing cards at night, relaxing with no bugs!

Chris and Brandon are amazing guides and will set you up upstream so that you can paddle downstream exploring and learning and living. The use of the lodge was a wonderful surprise. Very welcoming place to spend time in the woods. My wife and I spent a few days up here for our wedding anniversary and it was wonderful! Isabelle left a wonderful note and flowers for us and The yurt was awesome! Definitely home away from home. Everything you need and the sauna was incredible. The only thing to be aware of is that you can hear a lot of the traffic from the main road that is not far from the retreat.

A magical little yurt village nestled in between the trees was the perfect getaway for a sister’s weekend. We had everything we needed from cooling to heating options to make s’mores fires and loosing track of time in the sauna. You can tell that the details really matter to the owner. This place is very clean and simply ready for any occasion. I hope that when someone finds this listing they don’t think twice about staying here! I promise you won’t think twice about returning once you go visit!

This campsite was very nice because it was large and had many trees around it. We appreciated having access to the lodge. We arrived late the first night and decided to enjoy the indoor fireplace instead of making a fire at our campsite and it was so nice! We were also able to get our morning coffee inside.
We also appreciated that it's directly across from a put in on the Manitowish River so it was simple to go paddling.
