We have valleys with three ridges, total elevation is about 300 feet from low point to high point. We have two springs on the property that are the source for a small unnamed creek that feeds into Trout Creek and then the Kickapoo River.
The property has walking paths in the grassy pasture areas in the valley (partially mowed), unmowed trails up and down the hillsides and on the ridges, and a high bluff overlook.
We are between the towns of Soldiers Grove and Readstown, 2 miles from the Kickapoo River and US Highway 61 on paved roads. There are public restrooms with showers a 5 minute drive from site in Soldiers Grove, where there is also an RV dump station.

Beautiful, secluded campsite with a babbling brook running through!! The region is gorgeous in the fall. The outhouse was clean and well kept. Tai + Stella’s visitor guide and map were very informative and easy to follow. Logan brought us firewood and allowed us to enjoy the area in peace. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an escape out in nature.

The site is beautiful in Autumn and very quiet except for occasional traffic. Bill was very friendly and clearly shows pride in his ancestral land. He has hand crafted a beautiful building as a replica of a lodge in Yellowstone. The entire area in that part of Wisconsin is visually outstanding.

As stated in every other review, the camping spot is very scenic, nature filled and beautiful.
Gregory is great as a host as he let us have our privacy, but checked in as we were driving or walking by.
Just a note to get to the site: when you pull in the driveway, turn left and drive in front of the house. Then right after the house take a right and that trail leads you back into the woods by the river. I think he has a map that works great.
Lacrosse and Lake Crescent are not far from this site if you wanna make a trip into town.
The site itself is very open no backing up as needed. Just pull in where you wanna be. Big enough for a couple of campers and tents.

A Phenomenally Beautiful Campsite with a lot of Area to Set up your Camp. The Streams were Gorgeous and Had Beautiful Sunsets.
Gregory Drove to our Campsite in the early morning, waking us up, to Advise my Husband and Myself of the Rising Waters and the Next Huge Storm Surge coming our way!
This is Unheard of, That A Man not only Checked out his Land, he Informed us of the Big Storms and Concerning Weather On the Front.
Also, Delivered our Farm Fresh Eggs to our Campsite!

Long story short: great site, great host, 100% recommend.
BIG site. Lots of room for either multiple tents or just choosing a perfect location for a single tent. Very level ground as well.
The trout stream is small, but very fishable. I had a blast fly fishing the water right at the campsite, as well as the mile of public water upstream of the site.
The site is private, but I wouldn’t call it “secluded”. There are a couple other houses and a main road nearby. I would compare the general noise level similar to what you’d find in a suburban neighborhood. In my opinion, this is actually more acceptable than what I’ve found in popular state park campgrounds, which often have “party noise” later into the night, and much closer neighbors making noise. Once the sun goes down, this site is quiet and sleep came easy.
I opted to have an early check in time as well as a dozen fresh eggs from the camp host’s chickens and ducks. I had fresh duck eggs for breakfast for the first time…they were great!
The camp host couldn’t have been better. Just a regular guy that didn’t interfere with my stay at all. Communication through the app was very good and really all that was needed. I did speak with him briefly in person and it was a pleasant conversation.

The hospitality that Afton provided was impeccable, by far the best I’ve experienced with Hipcamp and I use Hipcamp a lot. Not only was she a great host but a super cool gal as well and she put me onto one of the best local fishing spots too. 10/10 would recommend and I would 100% stay here again and you should too!

I had an absolutely incredible stay at this Hipcamp. It felt like I had been transported to the mountains, not Wisconsin! The views in the driftless region were stunning. I reached out to host Andy in advance, and he graciously let me stay in the fenced dog park area, which featured a crystal-clear spring-fed pond. The trails on the property were amazing, perfect for exploring with my dogs, and the location itself is out of this world. It's right in the heart of Amish country, with Amish horse and buggies riding right past the campsite. Andy was fantastic, welcoming, helpful, and full of great local recommendations. If he was working near the campsite he kept me informed, but otherwise gave me my privacy and it really felt like I had the place to myself. Andy even loaned me a corkscrew after I forgot mine. Although the listing says no cooking equipment, the site was set up with a campfire grill grate which was so helpful for cooking over the open fire. I purchased the wood add on and Andy provided more than enough wood right beside the fire for two days. He also suggested a nearby Amish home-based bakery, which had some of the most delicious baked goods I’ve ever tasted. Every detail of this stay was thoughtful, peaceful, and memorable. I only wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene, stunning, and unique camping experience.

It's a beautiful and private camping area appropriately--thus the name--on a steep hill. Bill is most patient and accommodating with all details! We have Verizon and we actually got reception (none in Union Center) up there! We bicycled the side roads (which had little traffic & were beautiful) & also went on the bike trail in Union Center. We will be back!

Andy and Marla are wonderful hosts. Their property is clean, well organized, and beautiful! The location is close to all of the spots that people would find interested while touring in the area. Make sure to stop by Readstown for the licorice ice cream!!! Fantastic stay, will return.

This space is like a dream, definitely not like any campground I've been to before. The winding country roads passing by buggies and neighbors waving were signs we were going to the right place. Our site was surrounded by a babbling creek that we splashed around in during the day. The dogs especially enjoyed that part! Each site was spread out and private, with the creek joining the grounds together. The compost outhouse was awesome and I never had to wait in line even with all of the spots occupied. It was so peaceful and tranquil but we also felt able to let loose and have joyful moments. Having spring water and firewood available was amazing and we only had to leave the property once to reup on supplies (theres poor service but reliable wifi to upload maps to the nearest stores, noted on the welcome guide). If you have dogs or children there are spots that are more secluded to choose from. We liked Coyote to camp by our cars but our pups are still practicing not barking hello every time a neighbor passed by.
We felt so lucky to have to found this slice of bliss amongst the acres of farmland and rolling forests. Being there exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to go back.
