Clear cut in the 50's, and hit by a tornado in the 90's, this land has come a long way in being restored. The forest has grown back, the tornado damage mostly cleaned up, I'm currently working helping to reestablish native plants. Adjacent to county forest land this land is teeming with life and has an almost supernatural feel to it at night...in fact, if your lucky you might see the dancing purple lights that have appeared from time to time. Tents can camp anywheres on the property, RV's must stay at designated sites. Farm is 3 acres field, the rest forest and wetlands with a small creek running through. The property is part of the Harrison-Hewitt county forest. It is a few short miles from the Eau Claire Dells, and only a mile or so from the Plover River Fishery, Springbrook(Trout fishing and kayak accessible) the Ice Age Trail. It is 5 miles from WI Hwy 45 which is on the way to many points in the WI & upper MI Northwoods. Its 25 miles from Granite Peak Ski area. We have all sorts of wildlife; loons, turkey, grouse, foxes, red squirrels, wolves, black bear, a cougar, whitetail deer plus woodpeckers, plovers and songbirds and more.

We run a holistic healing retreat from our home, but when we are not doing those we offer up our beautiful bell tents for campers. Each tent has two full beds, side tables with lamps, a fan, and electricity. Our property is on 7.8 acres of which 80% is wooded, and on Fish Lake/Pelican River with a dock for access to the water. There is no public boat launch, so all watercraft must be able to be carried to the water. There is a fire pit by the lake with plenty of seating to hangout and watch the Northern Lights. We have large gardens and chickens plus we work here, so you will see us around. We do have roosters and they do make noise, but we find that our clients get used to them quickly. Our property is a great basecamp for exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Only 10 minutes from downtown Rhinelander, but you feel like you are way out in the woods.

Jeff was super nice and friendly. We had a great time listening to live bluegrass and enjoying wood fired pizza. The camping spaces were nice as well. Spent the later hours at the campsite listening to the frogs chirping and watching the fireflies. Would highly recommend!

Nice site on Butternut Lake! Great firepit and views of a quiet cove on the lake. Plenty of room for the dogs to play and hang out. I wish it had a dock as fishing from the shore was pretty much impossible with all of the lilly pads. We did not use the porta potty since we are self-contained and didn't need it. There is some firewood available but you will need an axe or a splitting maul. I split some but found a great place on the way to the site in Park Falls that sells bulk firewood. We would definitely come back again, I would give it 5 stars if it had a dock and would certainly pay more.

Beautiful place on the lake. Host was very accommodating with our stay incoming storms had us coming in late and staying an extra day. There is a lot of wood but bring a way to split it. The fire pit was huge never used it but was nice as an option. Watching the ducks and lions in the morning and evening was so nice.

This was our second time camping at Wedges Creek. We loved the first experience so much we came back with more people.
We had campsites and cabins rented. Cabins 2, 3, 4 and 5. All we absolutely adorable. Clean and cozy!
The campsites were 7 and 8. We enjoyed beautiful bonfires at night with a bonus of watching the wildlife walk along the fields.
Take advantage of the woodfired Pizza! Amazing! Live music at night made for a fun night of dancing.
Outdoor venue on nice days along with an indoor venue in case of weather.
Jeff, the host, goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay.
Make sure you ask him for the story of Frog Town and take the tour if you can!
Highly recommend!
