Our 9 acre wooded lot is a quiet, secluded, woodsy retreat perched above the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing or paddling. TENT site: Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table. While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc. BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. *Summer /Fall '23 we began building our cabin and trailer access has changed a bit. Please inquire about camper use before booking. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however. ** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter and cut trees. Trapper Arts Retreat in NW Wisconsin has (3) waterfront sites and (1) wooded site. Located on a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (except Bob Lake West) on a 90 acre lake and only 5 minutes from the Chippewa County Forest! The Chippewa County Forest (over 10,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES (all of our sites now include a portable toilet, firewood, fire ring, water, power, picnic table and/or chairs). BIRCH Waterfront is named for the beautiful birch trees that frame your view of the lake that also includes soothing evening loon sounds :) It is our medium size campsite with a level gravel and grass pad with lakefront access via the long wooded dock and an included row boat for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT Waterfront is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock. This site has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! BOB LAKE WEST Waterfront is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. This site has a bonus small storage shed which could be a cool kids cabin. It is partially wooded elevated site with stunning sunrise views. WOODED RUSTIC is a non-waterfront campsite for both tents or RV's that has been updated to a site with power and water and includes access to the lake and a row boat at our common access which is only about 200 yards down the road from this site. RV's can park on the gravel pad and tent guests can setup down the walking trail in the woods. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. In 2024, we added a new gravel camper parking area that can accommodate 4 campers (30-amp hookups each), as well as (2) 30-amp hookups in the grassy part of the site. First RV is included in the rental, each additional rig is $50.

Susan was quick to get back to me with answers to my questions and was warm & friendly with replies.. She has a wonderful garden that she allowed us to pick vegetables and herbs from and she wouldn’t let us pay for them, which was so generous! This was our second time here; we’ll be back next year! We had water & electric hook ups at our site. And we caught some good sized bass and small sun fish. We didnt have any luck with northern but also unfamiliar with the area so that'd be on us. ;) we are used to goijg to places where campers are on top of each other with lots and lots of amenities because we have little kids. This place was the opposite but we loved it just as much! This trip was for just my husband and myself for our 9 year anniversary. We'd definitely come back with our kids but would probably stay at the Eagles Nest campsite for that trip just for the dock. But could totally do the same one with our kids too.

Beautiful, private site above Bob Lake in gorgeous tall pines. Lovely setting for a gathering of friends. Hiking nearby at Hickory Ridge was a nice 3.5 mile hike. Canoeing, row boats and swimming made us hungry for pizza making and a game night. Even the rain didn't dampen our fun! Can't wait for another trip!

We LOVED this site and would absolutely come back. I truly hope to!! It's a great set up, directions were easy to follow to get there (also such a pretty drive in) and Brenda/Mike made sure that we knew they were readily available, should we need anything. I was a little ehhh about $100/night for a site since we do not use electricity and water hookups, but if you want to kayak/swim/paddleboard...the location is SO WORTH IT. Lake Bob is beautiful for sunrises and sunsets, to watch the eagle fly around the lake or the fish jump out of the lake, to paddle around or to try to catch the Northern Lights, like we were lucky enough to do so. We took advantage of Lake Wissota State Park nearby (beach, biking, hiking) and visiting Eau Claire, Cornell and Chippewa Falls. Enjoy your stay at this great camping spot!

Personally I like to camp in areas where I'm not surrounded by a million campers like a trailer park. I also like to camp with a waterfront. It was a very peaceful campsite I even had my own dock to the lake. It's a huge campsite so there is plenty of room to situate yourself without the concern of others staring at you. I had a restful week there it was worth it. Also I felt safe there and I was a camping solo female.

This was our 2nd trip to Eagle Point, we love it there. It’s nice and large, so fits our camper and kids tents easily. The best part is the peacefulness, we tend to not camp on holiday weekends to avoid the crowds but that’s not a problem at Eagle Point:)

2 nights at Butternut Lake Camping

Nice site on Butternut Lake! Great firepit and views of a quiet cove on the lake. Plenty of room for the dogs to play and hang out. I wish it had a dock as fishing from the shore was pretty much impossible with all of the lilly pads. We did not use the porta potty since we are self-contained and didn't need it. There is some firewood available but you will need an axe or a splitting maul. I split some but found a great place on the way to the site in Park Falls that sells bulk firewood. We would definitely come back again, I would give it 5 stars if it had a dock and would certainly pay more.
