Short drive from the Namekagon River which is great for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming.
Due to a recent review, I am also adding here that swimming from our property is not ideal. The lake tends to be weedy during warm summers. There are places to swim nearby, so if you are booking with the sole intent of being able to swim, please be aware that this is likely not the best site for you unless you are willing to drive to a nearby beach.

Our 9 acre wooded lot is a quiet, secluded, woodsy retreat perched above the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing, paddling & fishing. The undergrowth is a carpet of ferns & native plants. Birders will love this spot. We also encourage bringing your dog friends.
We have several fire rings and encourage responsible campfire hangouts. *Please do not bring firewood. We provide dry wood & dead fall may be used for campfire, but ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING from live trees, please.
TENT site: Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table. While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc.
BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits.
CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site.
*We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however.
** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter. We will never be working during your stay, however - you'll have the place to yourself unless otherwise agreed upon. Feel free to view the cabin from the outside but please do not enter the structure.

We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. In 2024, we added a new gravel camper parking area that can accommodate 4 campers (30-amp hookups each), as well as (2) 30-amp hookups in the grassy part of the site. First RV is included in the rental, each additional rig is $50.

Learn more about this land:The Farm Stay Glamping Site was originally my very first greenhouse. As our farmstead has grown, and evolved into a full fledged sheep farm and soon to be market garden, there was an idea to make it into something that we could share the beauty of our homestead with others.
As spring breaks through, and the campsite opens, up we have new lambs arriving daily. Baby chicks are hurrying every which way, and the flowers start to emerge. It's a beautiful time of year to visit the farm and enjoy the new beginnings. As summer comes around, our new lambs move to a pasture that you can overlook from the campsite.
The glamping site is located on the back side of our yard with a fruit orchard separating our main home from the site. The site has a queen bed, and also has room for an additional tent to be placed in the yard (which is relatively flat), or on the 12'x18' wooden deck.
We are 15 minutes from Ashland & 30 minutes from Bayfield with numerous entertainment and dining options. 10 - 15 minutes from numerous beaches along Lake Superior's shore.

On the upper Bad River, I have a special location that I'd like to share for others to enjoy.
I was fortunate to acquire this land 20 years ago and now that I have retired from the United States Air Force, I can dedicate time to create peaceful campsites along the river.
This land was originally railroad property as the railroad companies bought much land in the late 1800's to have options to place their railroads.
There is still a railroad track nearby but it has been unused since 2015 and it makes a nice hiking path along the river for many miles to the north into the national forest.
There are 3 waterfalls nearby and I will have many signs leading to the waterfalls.
There are 4 total campsites on the property, 1 site you can drive to (Eagle Pines), and 3 tent sites that require 1/8 mile hike to 2 sites, and a 1/4 mile hike to the other hike-in site.

Wow! What a magical place. I had an amazing time camping at Eagle Pines On The Bad River and spending a gorgeous exploring Deans land. He’s clearly put much time and care into building and maintaining the trails. The map, signs and ribbons were very helpful for navigating the area. It was an absolute delight and adventure hiking the trails and wandering around the three waterfalls.
Dean was also an excellent host. He was incredibly accommodating, responded quickly to my messages and provided very detailed instructions and recommendations upon booking.
I highly recommend these sites to anyone wanting a peaceful, somewhat rustic and secluded spot to stargaze, canoe/kayak, hike and commune with the land and water. I hope to visit again soon.

We had the greatest time camping at Bad River Wilderness! We stayed at Bad River Point. Dean was most accommodating and helpful. The campsites are very remote and short walks to the waterfalls. Gorgeous property! Extremely clean and well taken care of! We enjoyed hiking the beautiful paths! Walking on the railroad tracks. Exploring in the canoe was also fun! We can’t wait to stay there again! Thank you, Dean for sharing your property with us!

What a beautiful property! We loved camping in an oak grove in the fall time - golden and heavenly! The lake was beautiful, and even though it's the weather wasn't conducive to swimming, we thoroughly enjoyed reading on the dock. Everything about the site was as described and made camping with our 34' fifth wheel a breeze. We will be back!

Loved our time at this spot! Beautiful camp with amazing giant pine trees and a great setting on the river. Definitely plan to return! The river was low at this time of the year, but still managed to get out on the canoe provided and that was a great surprise to have available. We even saw a pair of swans!

Although I arrived in the dark, I still found it fairly easy to navigate and find my campsite based on the directions Dean sent and the posted signs he made. I was impressed at how nice the campsite was -- it is clear that a lot of work was put in to haul in a lot of accommodations (chairs to sit on, smores sticks, lifejackets, canoes, food safety bins, etc) and create easy to navigate trails to the campsites and waterfall spots.
This is a lovely place to just spend the night or have a long weekend getaway. Unique location right on the river and unique way to get there (crossing railroad tracks and hiking in). I found the location to be very quiet and secluded which I really enjoyed; it felt like I had backpacked quite far into the woods, not just walked a couple minutes from my parking spot.

One of the best hip camps we have ever been to…. Maybe even the absolute best. Michael has great communication, the site was beautiful and private, and please don’t miss out on taking a ride in the supplied canoe. It’s a beautiful place! This is our second time there and we will return again.

I had a nice stay on Dean's property. Not only was it quiet and along the river, but it was also a good jumping off spot to play tourist in the area.
The ability to have the dog off-leash made us both happy. My pup had a great time in the woods, running and exploring.
The sites are definitely walk-in. It's not a difficult or technical walk, but expect your standard rocks, roots, and wet leaves. A bit of up and down. More advanced beginner than totally flat. (I include this for those of us with knee issues.)
I arrived at night (my fault for the late start) and had no issues getting to my site thanks to the thorough directions and the signage on the property.

The campsite was magical! If you're looking for a beautiful place to really get off the beaten path, this is a great place to do it. The river was nice for a cooling swim on a hot day. Dean takes very good care of the property. I could occasionally hear voices off in the distance from other campers and their dogs, but I never saw another person in the day and night I spent there.
