You should mostly only see neighbors when going to bathhouse. Then this is for you! Eddie Mae's is just 288 SF. It has a 250 gal. water holding tank, 5 gal. hot water heater and dry flush toilet. The couch turns into a queen bed, the loft has two twin beds. The property has access to the river walking distance where you can relax, float on tubes (provided) or bring your own kayak. There is also a firepit with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill, lounge chairs and indoor and outdoor games for your enjoyment. 1 pet is allowed for an additional fee. Please message me for details. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. You will also have access to the rest of what Hawkwood Farm offers including forest trails and an array of wildlife. You will arrive at our house, and the campsite is approximately 150 yds down the river trail. The campsite is completely private from our house. There’s great fishing, hiking, kayaking and canoeing from the property and also plenty more nearby. We’re only a few miles outside of Strasburg which offers great antique shops, dining, and a brewery with live music on weekends. Three night maximum permitted. **Note that the North Fork is a shallow river with a slate bottom. If you plan to wade, fish or swim in the river, you may want to bring some sturdy shoes to wear in the river.

The Wood Thrush became my favorite song birds after living here. We have eaten breakfast and watched the deer come in and there is a hawk's next near the property line. There is so much to share like this. What an amazing spot in the woods to enjoy!Learn more about this land:We live in a somewhat secluded woods with a backyard, firepit, and basement restroom made available to you. There are several places to pitch a tent in or out of the trees. We are located 20 minutes in the country from Historic Harpers Ferry and Appalachian Trail. Contact us early enough and we can make arrangements to pick you up at the Harpers Ferry Train Station if coming off the trail. This property host a variety of song birds in the morning like the beautiful sounding Wood Thrush, Cardinals and the Carolina Wren among many others.
