We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot.
A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty!
We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee.

We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. We raise chickens, ducks, and pigs while practicing permaculture and organic farming, using solar energy for parts of our operation. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot.
A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty!
We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee.
While you're here, visit our local businesses in Gassaway. At Bigfoot Braxxie's Bikes, you can rent a bike and explore the 40-mile Elk River Rail Trail. Trailhead Farm Meats & More offers our farm-raised, all-natural meats and other local products.

Abrams Creek is like camping in a nature preserve, rather than in a commercial campground. On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment.
And this is always a great place to beat the heat! We have a mountain climate; the peak temperature most days in the summer is in the high 70's or very low 80's, and at night, temperatures go down to about 60. You'll be breathing cool, clean, fresh mountain air all day long!
Hot showers are included, and all sanitary facilities are *sterilized* between guests. We have taken every measure to safeguard your health!
We are located in the mountainous Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia. Our vision is an environmentally conscious, eco-friendly campground developed in harmony with nature. We are not only a business, but also serve as an anchor for others who want to live more simply and close to the earth. The concept of rural revitalization means reinventing rural life so that it is economically sound, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally satisfying. Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)
Pablo and Lorena were extremely accommodating during our stay at the casita of love! The tree house stay are was so charming. The beds were comfortable and the lights in the cabin created a very cozy environment. Sitting out and having dinner by the fire pit was definitely a highlight. Pablo & Lorena were very welcoming & made sure we were comfortable even offering extra blankets for a cooler night. Overall it was a great place to stay off the beaten path for our weekend trip out to Berkeley springs!

Stayed here over this past weekend and was very impressed. Price was very reasonable and accommodations were significantly better than expected - everything was very nice and included an excellent grill, good furniture/bedding, and a kitchen stocked with the essentials (pots, pans, utensils, coffee makers [Keurig and regular coffee pot], and so on). The cabin itself is at the end of the other lodges - so it's a bit more private - which is also nice.
Additionally, when we first arrived the hot tub was not hot. I called the front desk, and they came out with 30 minutes and fixed the issue, and it warmed up by evening. Great service and the staff were super friendly.
Also, the river is only about 30 feet away from the cabin. We did lots of fishing and it was awesome to have it so close to our location.

The hosts of the campground were so sweet and they suggested a campsite.I may like and it was heaven on earth. The campground was quite empty , so the only sound I really heard was the rushing river.

My dog and I enjoyed a lovely early April retreat at the Love House. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and magical stay despite one very cold night. The electric blanket was a welcome amenity! While I did not get the pleasure of meeting Lorena, I did get the chance to chat with Pablo a few times. He is friendly, responsive to needs and had info about the area. It was clear that the comfort of guests is important to him. While they were close by and accessible, the cabin felt private and relaxing. The location is convenient to local recreation opportunities. I bet the nearby river is a treat in the warmer months.

Our stay was great! Sites were far enough apart for privacy plus plenty of room to play a few rounds of bacci ball. Having the store right there on the camp ground was a huge convenience plus the private bathrooms were definitely a change of pace for us camping. Andrey came by and checked on us to make sure we were well accommodated. 10 minute drive from the Paw Paw tunnel trail. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)
Maybe our favorite vacation in West virgina so far. We were celebrating our daughters 8th bday who passed in 2020 and we were greeted with the most amazing cake. The place was amazing and clean. Large pile of wood for a fire. The outdoor shower was hot and easy to use. A large grill and fire pit for cooking anything we needed. The house had cute decorations everywhere and we noticed more as the trip went on. A short trip to the river that we had to ourselves. Lots of outdoor seating for around the fire or just relaxing. Pablo and Lorena were so incredibly friendly and gave us good recommendations for the area. Very easy to talk to and were very responsive before and after we booked. The kayak trip was perfect. Made us feel like we were at home. Cute art and s'more bag gifts. Nothing bad to say about this place or the hosts.

We really enjoyed staying here! It is the perfect place to car or tent camp. The host was very accommodating and respectful of our privacy. The bathhouse is an absolute beauty! The property is nicer than in the pictures. Impressive work Dad and son! There was a hose to spray our pups off before the ride home, a dish washing station plus ice cold spring water. It was everything we needed for our short road trip! Thank you for allowing us to stay on your property.

I really loved camping at this campground. The price was great, the bathroom/shower facilities were well maintained, and the trails were awesome. I didn't stay when the restaraunt was open, but i really enjoyed everything else. I also loved the goats. I hope to make my way back here!

Arrowhead Bike Farm and Campground is a great place to spend the night or a couple of days. As the name suggests they have lots of bikes and biking opportunities. The sites are well maintained and clean. The RV sites are situated in the middle of the action and close to both the bathhouse and the kitchen. The tent sites offer more privacy. The area was very quiet and peaceful overnight.

Definitely an underrated spot. Vince is a wonderful host who has put much thought into the campsite. It’s quiet, well maintained, and has so much personality. Since it was somewhat on the cold side when we visited, we are going to come back in the summer so we can try out their beach!

Jonah was an awesome host! The property is gorgeous and if you're lucky enough to experience the phenomenon, the creeks running down the property lines combined with the wind in the hollow sounds like the waves at the shoreline. Fantastic stay way out in the boonies! I was their first guest of the year, and what a cold night it was to camp, but having a heated bathroom and hot showers made it worthwhile. It's about halfway between Wheeling and Fairmont on twisty roads. There is no AT&T cell service for many miles, but that didn't matter. I could look up and see the stars and listen to the rushing waters of the creek nearby.
