From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) across pasture and wooded trail and empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Secluded large and shaded hilltop campsite under mature forest canopy. Campsite is remote and requires hiking up a steep gravel road from car lot. Host met us at arrival and shuttled all of our gear via atv up to campsite. Full bathroom and shower facilities located at base of hill were worth the walk and nice bonus for an otherwise typical primitive camping experience. Firewood delivered to campsite is convenient and a very good value. Will certainly return for future visits.

Solo female traveler experience: I felt safe! My 2025 Chevy trax had no issue getting there even though heavy rains had been coming through I think (two hours south it had been raining for days). As someone else mentioned, this is a field so it does get hot under direct sun if you don’t bring a shade. Gorgeous sunset and sunrise. It was super nice to have a picnic table!! It was so peaceful. It is very quiet! Stacy gave all info necessary prior to arrival. I treated my stuff with permethrin prior and used bug spray while there and didn’t have any issue with bugs but could hear them and the fireflies were lovely at night!

We loved tent camping here. We had small children and had a great time. It was private and well-maintained. The composting toilet was really nice. Several species of birds visited the bird feeders. We appreciated the provided wood for a fire, as well as other provided supplies. Next time we would do more hiking around the property and would use the provided hammock stand.

I do believe this place might be paradise on earth. Whether you’re roaming the picturesque acres or chilling under your private canopy of trees, there’s simply something magical happening here, and it’s impossible not to feel it. PLEASE GET THE TAXI SERVICE! These sights are a backpackers dream, but if you’re hauling more than what’s on your back, PLEASE message the host and purchase the taxi service. It’s so worth it and so convenient. We had so much fun and everything was perfect, If only we purchased the taxi service… But regardless our site was amazing! There was a little swimming lake with free floaties, and kayaks! So dreamy, and the host was perfect and super nice! Highly recommend this so anyone looking for a quiet stay in nature!

Very peaceful and relaxing place to camp. My sister in law and her husband rented the camper and we rented the RV spot for our camper which worked out great for us to be together camping with plenty of space for everyone. The camper rental has everything a person would need and then some, including AC which was a must when we were there with temps in the 80s. Trail’s right off the campsite and the minimally used road were convenient for walking. The fields full of butterflies were lovely to watch all the species during the day and fireflies at night along with the stars. We are looking forward to returning again. It is private with great amenities like the Toliet and shower. J. R. Was very responsive to my questions and hospitable.
For those who go with an RV there is a free dumping station at the West Virginia welcome center which is only a mile and half from the Marietta exit on 77.

Firefly Forest is a great getaway for anyone looking for some relaxation in nature. My partner and I stayed two nights and Owen was a great host, very easy to communicate with and the taxi service is super helpful! The campsite was perfect with some trees to hammock in and the hiking trails are nicely mowed. It’s a great spot for bird watching too. Would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Birdhouse Farm Camp And Cabin
We had an amazing time at the Farm! Logan helped us haul our gear to the site with a little trailer on his mower, the outdoor shower was so cute and the outhouse was right across from our site. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the parking area, so the help hauling was needed. The A-frame was perfect and we loved lifting the front, putting up the bug net (a must)
and sleeping in the open air! Logan even brought us an extra bundle of wood when I texted we were low and helped us motor out our gear in the morning. The site is SO peaceful, so many different birds. The 5 gallon jug of water, with pump, was perfect, outhouse has all you need and is pretty nice (as outhouses go lol). Super private (we were the only camper there on a Friday night). we had hiked cedar Falls/Ash Cave in Hocking Hill and then just about an hour drive to the site. My first camp trip taking my dog along and with a tieout he had roaming area of the whole site. Highly recommend, great hosts and site!

We had a wonderful time camping at this site. We were blessed to meet Daniel and stay on his property. He went above and beyond to meet our needs, and we would definitely stay there again. We camped here primarily to hike and explore the Hocking Hills area, and though this property was a little far from the popular trails (about 55 mins) it was worth it. We enjoyed the seclusion and privacy of the campsites our kids felt free to explore, and they loved fishing in the pond every chance they got. Daniel was a great host and we hope to camp here again sometime. Thank you for a great camping experience!
