Nice cabin and outhouse, kind hosts
The cabin/loft was really cute, and the owners were very responsive and kind, given that we had an unexpected experience.
There was some sort of a very strange occurrence going on when the weather changed from warm to cold suddenly (in late October) that brought in a ton of flies, stink bugs, and wasps. When we got there, there were probably 50 to 100 of them inside (mostly flies).
We talked to the hosts, and they said that they had cleaned it only about three hours before as they had guests there the night before, but that the bugs do this strange thing where they try to get inside when the weather changes in temperature from warm to cold.
We didn’t end up staying because of it. We figured that even if they cleaned out the bugs again as they offered, more would just come back right away afterwards since this many had come in in only three hours.
So please don’t let that deter you in general, as I believe the hosts that this was an oddity.
If you have an extreme fear of heights, know that getting into the lofts where the beds are may be difficult for you. You reach them with a rung ladder, and you cannot go straight over the ladder. You have to swing your leg out over the abyss and pull yourself into the loft. I have a pretty bad fear of heights and this was a scary maneuver for me!
So, at a different time of year without the bug issue, I’d recommend it. I don’t think I’d be sleeping in the lofts myself, but there are two cots for scaredy-cats like me!

My family had an absolute blast! We wish we stayed longer to explore more! Everything from the design to decor is beautiful- so many nice touches (my daughter especially loved the swings!). Can’t wait to come visit again!!

Little Site in the Big Woods
Our family loved this campsite! We camped at the Little Site in the Big Woods - this spot was lovely and provided nice shade. Our kids loved exploring the whole land, and checking out the goat and the horses. We had so much fun here and can't wait to come back.

One Tree Hill
Camping at one tree hill on McKee Farm was amazing. We enjoyed a long peaceful weekend submersed in nature perched next to an enormous old oak tree. The view (from all directions) was stunning, with lots of birds and butterfly to view. We enjoyed walking our dog among the cornfields and grassy hills. Our host (Autumn) was welcoming and friendly upon our arrival and happily delivered firewood and kindling throughout our stay. We will def be back…loved getting away from it all with not another person in sight for days…...the vibe was absolutely perfect…..even if it did rain.

Beautiful and secluded
Absolutely beautiful farm and a lovely camping experience. Each site is secluded and private, with nature all around you. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, and we made a friend in the farmhouse cat, Squeaky. I would absolutely camp here again and I recommend it highly to anyone looking to get away for a weekend.

Everything was perfect. The host is super kind and stopped by to make sure we were all good, and offered some tips. The treehouse is really well designed and clean, and not nearly as buggy as I would have expected. I'm not a camping person but I slept great on the comfortable bed. The kids loved it and we enjoyed our day trip hiking at Blackhand Gorge then out to eat at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville. Be prepared to have no cell service - we had to follow the blue dot on Google maps. These are gravel roads where people are riding ATVs and horsedrawn buggies. We hope to be back!

One Tree Hill
Perfect Woodsy Seclusion
Excellent seclusion for a 2 night stay, very private. The long grass lane to One Tree Hill site was just about too difficult for me to get to on my large, heavy Yamaha FJR1300 road bike. Spent one night there and enjoyed it tremendously once settled in. Good flat tent site. The huge oak was so neat. Next day I asked to move to Little Site in the Big Woods site which was closer to the gravel lane. They graciously allowed me to switch sites and I had a much easier time getting the bike in and out . Also an extremely beautiful site although difficult to find a flat spot for the tent. The hostess was beyond helpful and super friendly. Outhouse was clean and actually smelled good. I think it's the wood chip compost they use. Well kept sites, clean and maintained nicely. I can easily see myself coming back with my wife, in a 4wd pickup. :-)

Treehouse get away!
We absolutely loved our treehouse experience! It was so clean and welcoming when we arrived. They have really thought out everything you could possibly need and want during your stay at the treehouse with solar lights, lanterns, and multiple cozy chairs and swings! Exploring the rest of the farm was wonderful between feeding animals, hiking, and the corn crib was really fun to relax in! We would recommend the treehouse to anyone! Our children absolutely loved it!

Little Site in the Big Woods
Such a beautiful place. My friend and I watched the sunset and the stars and even got up early enough to watch the sunrise. It was all so pretty and such good places for the views. I brought my two dogs and they loved it. Autumn’s parents are super nice and helpful! We will definitely be coming back!

Best place ever!!!
Definitely the best experience we’ve had in a long time. It’s such a beautiful area and an absolutely amazing treehouse. The kids loved it!!! We brought some games along with us and really made some memories. We would strongly recommend visiting, and will definitely be coming back.

Awesome stay!!
We were very excited to visit this unique Tree House. It was a meticulously planned structure. Loved everything about this neatly maintained property. All the basic essentials were available like solar lamps, fans, comfy bedding. I wasn't expecting outhouse to smell so good. Kids were excited to try the outhouse first thing we checked into the house. The callings of the cows made us feel so close to the natural setting. Our 6 year old Chocolate Lab loved diving into the creek. We did take a nice walk uphill into the owners property to get access to drinking water. No access to internet or phone, just wanted to experience that!!! We totally enjoyed our stay and recommend this property.

Top of the World
A secluded spot for private camping
The rolling hills and all the green are so lovely. We woke up in the morning to a beautiful mist all around and especially in the small valley near us. Our site was vast! No one around. It was a great opportunity to bring our dog camping for her first outing, without fear that her barking might disturb someone. She only barked twice - once at a family of skunks and once at a deer. Thankfully the skunks turned right around and went back into the brush. There are also nice gravel roads to explore throughout the farm. This is truly a lovely spot, and the hosts are friendly and accommodating. I would definitely camp here again.

Little Site in the Big Woods
We had a wonderful time at the McKee farm! On arrival we were greeted by Carol, who showed us around and let us choose the best site for us. We ended up with the Sunset View, which was picturesque and lovely, in the wide open on a huge hill which we could drive up to with our Jeep. We had perfect sunset views each night. We loved being visited by the farm cat (especially my 4 yo!). It was easy access to the water and the compost toilet. Anytime we needed anything, the hosts were quick to respond. We enjoyed exploring the land, watching the cows, and experiencing the quiet. Thanks for letting us stay! We hope to be back someday.

Absolutely perfect!
Absolutely amazing! We met Carol during our stay and she was so lovely. She provided details on places in the area to visit, made sure we had enough firewood, water, etc. She even came by to make sure we were okay after a storm the night before. They thought of everything with the treehouse. Tables, chairs, pillows, blankets to make sure you are comfortable. They have fans for hot nights. Lanterns. A propane stove perfect for making coffee. The only item you may want to bring is a grill grate for cooking over the fire. Everything was so clean and I don’t know how they keep it bug free. Seriously, not one spider web! The composting toilet was surprisingly spotless and odor free. A million times better than a portable toilet. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and our evening meals watching the cows across the street. We relaxed in our hammocks under the deck. My 11 year old daughter said it was the best camping vacation we have ever had. She loved the treehouse and thought it was so cool
to sleep in the loft. We hope to come back in the fall!

Quiet Farm Camping
Well maintained area, close to major Ohio cities but far enough to be quiet and relaxing. Very helpful hosts who have several interesting spots on the property and are very communicative. Appreciated the time and flexibility. Lots of country roads and fields, don’t bring a sports car.
