Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet.
Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails.
From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location.
We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta. Where you can find restaurants, bars, and many other fun activities.

Dogwood Cabin is an off grid experience. Think glamping. It is set on 25 acres in the rolling hills of Morgan County in southeast OH, close to the village of Chesterhill. Hidden in the woods, back a gravel driveway. No electricity, no running water, no central heat, no WiFi, no cell service. Truly getting out into nature without distractions.
Hang your hammock between trees. Build a fire to grill your meals. Relax on the porch swing or by the fire. Hike the property, play in the creek.
Dogwood Cabin has a small kitchenette. There is a propane camping stove and some pots, pans, coffee maker, and dishes. We have a grill to place over the fire pit.
There are 4 mattresses in the loft. No linens. Bring sleeping bags, etc.
No running water. Bring water in jugs for drinking, cleaning up and dousing the fire.
Buddy propane heater to take off the chill inside, but not make it cozy.
Bring a flashlight or lantern. We have several battery lanterns. On low, the lights should work for 6-8 hours. On high, much less.
An outhouse (think wooden porta potty) is not far from the cabin.
No cell service or internet. Chesterhill is about 2 miles and has service in numerous places on Main St. We have gone up the hill at the church in Todds - right on Goshen Run, left on St Rt 377, about 2 miles.
Firewood is not provided. You can bring your own or scrounge the woods for dead branches and twigs. Please douse the fire before leaving. Rake leaves away from the fire pit. Dry materials could easily start a forest fire.
8 plastic deck chairs are stacked on the porch. Please put them back and secure the cover before you leave.
We encourage you to get groceries on your way to the cabin, since it is 30 minutes to a decent grocery store. Chesterhill has Ron's Convenience and Restaurant where you can buy subs, pizza, burgers, fries, and groceries. Triple Nickel Diner in Chesterhill is another neat place to eat.
No motorcycles on the driveway.
You may enjoy hiking the 25 acres on the property. Nature is awesome, but check yourselves and your pet for ticks.

We do our best to keep poison ivy cleared from most areas and are continuously working on copperhead control as we encounter them. Please plan accordingly—bring bug spray, keep food secured from animals, and dress appropriately when walking in wooded areas to avoid poison ivy and snakes.

This unique structure with 10 ft exterior walls and over 17 feet to the center dome was hand crafted by Blue Ridge Yurts in Floyd Virginia. Every space in this property has been custom built to create an unforgettable experience. This is the only 10 ft walled yurt in the region offering a spacious loft. Lay back and enjoy watching the clouds go by and seeing the rustling of the trees in the wind through our 5 foot dome. At night stare up at the stars as you fall asleep on your full sized queen beds with memory foam mattresses.
The main floor offers a very spacious living area with in floor radiant heat system to keep you toasty warm in the winter. The space also includes a mini-split unit that offers additional heating as well as A/C in the summer months. A pull out couch is provided to accommodate any extra guest. The living area is open to the beautiful kitchen with custom made cabinets and rustic center island constructed out of old salvaged barn beams. The large marble island top provides ample space for food prep and dining. Our kitchen has all full sized appliances with large farm sink, full sized French door fridge and a convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you would need to prepare simple dishes including cooking oil, spices, flour, sugar, basic cookware and baking utensils. A Keurig coffee machine and pods are provided as well as a drip machine with ground coffee.
Our bathroom provides every convenience and luxury during your stay. A large 6 foot walk-in shower is spacious and inviting. Admire the custom built vanity also constructed from salvaged barn beams. A full sized washer and dryer are located in the nook of the bathroom and guests are welcome to use throughout their stay.
Our main floor also includes the master bedroom complete with full sized queen bed with memory foam mattresses, Storage ottoman and TV.
As you make your way out the back door you will find a little oasis awaiting. Our patio area provides privacy and the opportunity to relax in nature. Soak in the 6 person hot tub or gather around the fire pit in the evenings with friends and family.
A 6 person dining set is a perfect place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee in the morning.
This property was thoughtfully created to provide a unique and special experience for each and every one of our guests no matter what the occasion. This is the perfect place to stay at if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway. The property is very private and well taken care of. The hosts did a lovely job making sure the campsite was ready for our stay. There are plenty of amenities to enjoy and the sound of the creek running was so relaxing! We appreciate all of the thought and attention to detail Lisa provided and look forward to staying again!

Weekend Trip to Whippoorwill Retreat
Really close to ohio river and Forked Run State Park where we kyacked. Amazing property. A little hike in up and down through the woods. Greeted with the cutest little cabin stocked with anything you could possibly need and more. Perfectly situated in a small clearing with the fire pit and picknick table just far enough away from the cabin. The cabin is facing a rock formation and humming birds were playing all around us. We saw a deer and cooked on the camp stove and drank a whole bunch of the provided water(thanks again). There is a cute outdoor shower...my jam, that was really cold, but nice to rinse off. Mostly sat on the porch because it was super hot out but when went to bed the soft lighting and fans kept us comfortable. Almost want to keep it a secret, but this place was a diamond in the ruff.

Weekend Trip to Prayer Mountain
This was so much fun. The animals are really wonderful and it is so serene back in nature. I would recommend to anybody who's looking for a total escape! The owner is absolutely wonderful and super accommodating. I cannot hype it enough and we definitely will be back!

Weekend Trip to Birdhouse Farm Camp And Cabin
We had an amazing time at the Farm! Logan helped us haul our gear to the site with a little trailer on his mower, the outdoor shower was so cute and the outhouse was right across from our site. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the parking area, so the help hauling was needed. The A-frame was perfect and we loved lifting the front, putting up the bug net (a must)
and sleeping in the open air! Logan even brought us an extra bundle of wood when I texted we were low and helped us motor out our gear in the morning. The site is SO peaceful, so many different birds. The 5 gallon jug of water, with pump, was perfect, outhouse has all you need and is pretty nice (as outhouses go lol). Super private (we were the only camper there on a Friday night). we had hiked cedar Falls/Ash Cave in Hocking Hill and then just about an hour drive to the site. My first camp trip taking my dog along and with a tieout he had roaming area of the whole site. Highly recommend, great hosts and site!

Jennifer and her husband are amazing hosts. The land is beautiful, and the campsite offers a private experience with lots of amenities and luxuries. I highly recommend any and all of their campsites, I know I will be returning in the future!

Nature Camper is an absolute treasure of a space! We stayed in the trailer and it is wonderfully appointed with hot and cold running water, a propane stove, outdoor shower, a gorgeous back deck, and a hip composting toilet in the outhouse. The property is magnificent, offering some great hikes and gorgeous scenery. The trails are clearly marked, and you can actually enter the Wayne National Forest from the property. We happend to be there for one rainy night, and the sounds were magnificent. We also hear the coyotes calling! There were no fewer than 10 bird species singing in the morning! The site is also cloe to everything in the Marietta area. You are very close to the town, the Ohio river, the Wayne National Forest. serval trailheads, and lots of attractions. I highly recommend The Nature Camper!

We had a lovely stay in the renovated camper that’s got everything you could need. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek and enjoying the peace and quiet. Would recommend the site for anyone looking to get away but still wanting some creature comforts.

J was very attentive and thorough with my needs and communication. The camper was so cute and had a great rustic and modern style on the inside. The shower and the outhouse was the most impressive. Upscale and clean for a camper vibe. There is access to trails you can spend hours walking in just behind the camper. Its also 20 min from town so a doable drive just in case you need to pick up anything you forgot.

This was a great camp spot for my partner and our dogs. Lovely camper with a lot of amenities. Bathroom was very nice and kept clean. Lots of great trails nearby to hike. Great to chill by the fire and since it was cold out, it was very nice to have heating in the camper. Overall great time; will be back if ever in the area again!

Weekend Trip to Prayer Mountain
Spending a day and night at Brandon's A-frame cabin was a positive experience my partner and I will never forget. The cabin itself was cozy and stocked with all the essentials. The surrounding area is what really made for a memorable experience. We came in late, well after dark, and were greeted by a small persistent goat attendant who kept us company while we got settled. The next morning, we were greeted by several more, as well as peacocks, emu, pigs, and donkeys. We had no idea there were so many animals and were delighted to hang out with them all morning long.

Beautifully decorated and well appointed yurt. Very spacious. Private, serene location. Close to Hocking Hills State Park and other cool state parks/national forests. Host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back in the future and recommend to others!

J was very hospitable and the space was perfect for a weekend away with my husband. We camped here in January, so it was pretty cold outside but so cozy with the wood burning stove inside the cabin. There are lots of trails to explore the property and are easily accessible from the cabin. The hills are steep though, but worth the climb!

Highly recommend! This cabin is perfect. Not only is it beautiful, but it is clean and fully stocked with anything you might need. The wood burning stove keeps it incredibly warm and cozy in the winter. The property surrounding the cabin is beyond beautiful! There are hiking trails and a stream that can be heard from the cabin's porch. The site is very private and quiet. I also can't say enough good things about the host Craig! Incredibly nice, quick to respond, and willing to whatever to make your trip perfect. I can't wait to go back!!!
