This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports.
The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site.
We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. Welcome to Mountain View Mini Farm!! Almost Heaven West Virginia. Where we have a few animals on the property and do some homesteading. On the property we also have a Ice-Cream Shack that is open to the public. Hours for the Ice-Cream Shack varies. We are close to Historic Berkeley Springs and love sharing this piece of heaven with people like yourself. If you do not like the big camp grounds and just want a nice spot with a view to pitch a tent, or set up your camper, then you found it . A little about Mountain View Mini Farm. We are just minitues outside of Historic Berkeley Springs WV and 15 minutes from Cacapon State Park. You will have Great Views of the stars from your site. The sites are not far from our barn, and we will leave one tractor bay open for you, just in case it was to rain and you want to use it as shelter. The sites are not perfect level so you will have to level your camper a little. You will have your own fire ring and picnic table, also you will have access to fresh water. You will need a good size water hose if your going to hook up water to your camper from site 1. We have electric hookups that are 20amp Only. There is a clean outhouse but no shower at this time. We are working on making a shower. There is plenty of room for outdoor yard games. You will hear a little road noise and we do have neighbors. You will see me and my family out working around and feeding animals at times. The hosts house is not to far from the campsites. This is just a peaceful piece of property on a mini farm to get away and relax and explore Berkeley Springs WV. We are also only 15 minutes to Cacapon River for Kayaking and Swimming. We are also only 15 minutes to the C&O canal for hiking and biking. We do sell firewood for $7.00 that's around 13 pieces of wood. There is cornhole by the ice-cream shack that you are welcome to play. There will be more things added to the property in the near future. So come on out to the mountains and be our guest.

The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA, and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch comprises 40 acres of lowland acreage designated for the camp, including a 5-acre lake.
The Cedar Grove sites 1, 2, and 3 are along the banks of Passage Creek located within a sparse, groomed Cedar grove. They are all a short walk (or drive) to the lake and beach amenities. Each site has varying access to the creek, so check out the site details. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away.
The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mountain views in the background. It's on the opposite side of the lake from the Cedar Sites. This site has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. It's a delicate site, so the accommodations and group size is strictly limited.

Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Our cabin is located on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland where most of land is either State parks or forests because of its natural beauty and recreational value.

The campsites are tucked into pines and mountain laurel for privacy and wind protection, with multiple flat areas for tents or campers (leveling may be needed). While summer foliage limits direct views from the campsite itself, the drive and nearby ridgeline provide spectacular overlooks—you’re camping on one of the highest points in the area.
This is a primitive, off-grid campsite. There are no facilities. Guests must bring all gear, food, and water, and pack out all trash and waste. A camp toilet is required.
Perfect base camp for hikers and backpackers. The Tuscarora Trail is easily accessed via the Biby Trailhead just 0.8 miles down Timber Ridge Road. The site sits near the midpoint of one of the trail’s most scenic stretches (Gore to Trout Pond), making it ideal for day hikes, section hikes, or multi-day trips. Long-term vehicle parking for hikers can be arranged with advance notice.
Beyond hiking, enjoy miles of quiet paved and dirt roads for walking, biking, or horseback riding. Down the mountain, guests have access to community recreation areas including grassy fields, a baseball diamond, playground, fishing ponds, and a scenic lake (low water at times).
The campsite is accessible by 2WD in good conditions, but 4WD is strongly recommended, especially in rain, snow, or ice. Vehicles can drive directly into the cleared camping area. Each site includes a stone fire pit. The space works well for one large group or multiple smaller groups (larger groups with advance notice).
Tom’s Market is just 10 minutes (4 miles) away for gas, snacks, firewood, and supplies.

Welcome to Mountain View Mini Farm!! Almost Heaven West Virginia. Where we have a few animals on the property and do some homesteading. On the property we also have a Ice-Cream Shack that is open to the public. Hours for the Ice-Cream Shack varies. We are close to Historic Berkeley Springs and love sharing this piece of heaven with people like yourself. If you do not like the big camp grounds and just want a nice spot with a view to pitch a tent, or set up your camper, then you found it . A little about Mountain View Mini Farm. We are just minitues outside of Historic Berkeley Springs WV and 15 minutes from Cacapon State Park. You will have Great Views of the stars from your site. The sites are not far from our barn, and we will leave one tractor bay open for you, just in case it was to rain and you want to use it as shelter. The sites are not perfect level so you will have to level your camper a little. You will have your own fire ring and picnic table, also you will have access to fresh water. You will need a good size water hose if your going to hook up water to your camper from site 1. We have electric hookups that are 20amp Only. There is a clean outhouse but no shower at this time. We are working on making a shower. There is plenty of room for outdoor yard games. You will hear a little road noise and we do have neighbors. You will see me and my family out working around and feeding animals at times. The hosts house is not to far from the campsites. This is just a peaceful piece of property on a mini farm to get away and relax and explore Berkeley Springs WV. We are also only 15 minutes to Cacapon River for Kayaking and Swimming. We are also only 15 minutes to the C&O canal for hiking and biking. We do sell firewood for $7.00 that's around 13 pieces of wood. There is cornhole by the ice-cream shack that you are welcome to play. There will be more things added to the property in the near future. So come on out to the mountains and be our guest.

Voted Top VA site! See Reviews. Pastimes on Passage Creek Ranch is conveniently located at the north end of Fort Valley. The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA, and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch comprises 40 acres of lowland acreage designated for the camp, including a 5-acre lake.
The Cedar Grove sites 1, 2, and 3 are along the banks of Passage Creek located within a sparse, groomed Cedar grove. They are all a short walk (or drive) to the lake and beach amenities. Each site has varying access to the creek, so check out the site details. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away.
The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mountain views in the background. It's on the opposite side of the lake from the Cedar Sites. This site has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. It's a delicate site, so the accommodations and group size is strictly limited.

Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle.

Our cabin is located on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland where most of land is either State parks or forests because of its natural beauty and recreational value.
The area is an all season resort where you can enjoy the lake and beach as well as various outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing, sail boarding, hiking, and horseback riding most of the year.
In winter with up to 100 inches of snow, you can ski, snow board, and tube at the near by Wisp Ski Resort or cross country ski at several State parks managed for it during winter.

Camp high atop North Mountain at nearly 2,400 feet, with sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley and Allegheny Mountains. This private campsite sits on land once part of a historic country club and now offers a rare blend of mountain solitude, scenic access, and outdoor recreation.
The campsites are tucked into pines and mountain laurel for privacy and wind protection, with multiple flat areas for tents or campers (leveling may be needed). While summer foliage limits direct views from the campsite itself, the drive and nearby ridgeline provide spectacular overlooks—you’re camping on one of the highest points in the area.
This is a primitive, off-grid campsite. There are no facilities. Guests must bring all gear, food, and water, and pack out all trash and waste. A camp toilet is required.
Perfect base camp for hikers and backpackers. The Tuscarora Trail is easily accessed via the Biby Trailhead just 0.8 miles down Timber Ridge Road. The site sits near the midpoint of one of the trail’s most scenic stretches (Gore to Trout Pond), making it ideal for day hikes, section hikes, or multi-day trips. Long-term vehicle parking for hikers can be arranged with advance notice.
Beyond hiking, enjoy miles of quiet paved and dirt roads for walking, biking, or horseback riding. Down the mountain, guests have access to community recreation areas including grassy fields, a baseball diamond, playground, fishing ponds, and a scenic lake (low water at times).
The campsite is accessible by 2WD in good conditions, but 4WD is strongly recommended, especially in rain, snow, or ice. Vehicles can drive directly into the cleared camping area. Each site includes a stone fire pit. The space works well for one large group or multiple smaller groups (larger groups with advance notice).
Tom’s Market is just 10 minutes (4 miles) away for gas, snacks, firewood, and supplies.
Whether you’re here to hike the Tuscarora, explore quiet mountain roads, or unwind by the fire under cool pine-scented air, this North Mountain campsite offers a peaceful and unforgettable mountaintop escape.

Me and my partner chose to rent this cabin for thanksgiving. It was absolutely fabulous, the cabin is so cozy, the composting toilet did not bring any smell, the shower was great, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the bed was the best part of the trip. I cannot wait to rent this again.
Virgil and his wife were also very welcoming. I highly recommend renting this property.

Evergreen Grove Campsite was the first Hipcamp site I've stayed at and Kristen's space was exactly what the description and pictures implied. The Water Shed was convenient and had all the things I needed. There was even firewood for the fire pit. The space was close to Kristen's house, but still peaceful. Kristen was sweet and greeted me once I arrived. There were hikes within walkable distance. My only regret is that I'd stayed two nights instead of one!

Virgil & Pam really go above and beyond at The Fern House! The cabin was comfy and stocked with everything one could need for an extended weekend away. Our hosts were generous and gracious. They provide great communication and hospitality. We spent 3 nights and wish it could've been longer! Our pups loved the mile walk around the property each morning plus great hiking spots nearby. We took advantage of the fireplace, local eatery suggestions, and the loft was the perfect hideaway for resting and waking to beautiful wooded views. We cant wait to come back!

The prepaid firewood delivery option made it easy, and then being able to purchase more wood at the site ensured we were warm throughout a chilly weekend. What a great experience. Suvdie's yurt has such an amazing panoramic view, and everything you could possibly need on a trip. We had a great time playing golf at Bryce Resort which is just 3 minutes away, and there are a ton of great vineyards within 25 minutes of the yurt, all worth visiting. Suvdie was very communicative before, during, and after our trip to make sure we were prepared before we came, had everything we needed during our trip, and had a great experience afterwards. I can't recommend this Host and the yurt enough!

The sites were large and had a huge fire ring and little grill. The pond is beautiful in the mornings and there's tons of free equipment if you feel like a paddle. The owner/caretaker is lovely and gives great local advice and the porta-potties were very clean. The little creek running around the property brings lots of ambiance and the occasional deer! No water options here but the national campground north of the property has a well/pump.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here over the last few years. This is our go-to campsite. The location on the lake is simply the best. This time a new friend who’s an avid camper joined. He said while looking across the mirror-effect on the lake, “I can see why you keep on coming back here.” There’s something special about this place. On this particular trip, the fall colors were fully out and the stars were lighting up the night sky. Can’t wait to come back.
