Each tent has it's own toilet tent and a solar camp shower. We have a coffee station on the front porch of the house in the mornings. There's axe throwing and two boats available for use. We sell firewood onsite. Tents are ideally set up for 2 adults (queen sized bed), but families are very welcome! You can bring air mattresses or sleeping bags for kids.

The name Cacapon was given by the native americans for the healing aspects of the water. The cabin is located on the famous Riverdale Farm property that was home of Captain David Pugh. Captain Pugh was the last person to sign succession papers to make West Virginia a state. As we say, " West Virginia started here". There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm. We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest. We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away. Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore within 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.We welcome campers of all kinds!

The property consists of 40 acres of low-land pasture, perfect for groups large or small. The Lakeside Mountain Stream site gives you the option to camp on our 5-acre lake, or camp in Creekside Cedar sites in shade along the banks of Passage Creek, just a very short walk to the lake. The property has 1/2mi of Passage Creek running adjacent to the campsites, as well as, the lake to enjoy. The Creekside Cedar sites are located within a sparse, groomed, Cedar grove along the banks of Passage Creek. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups. This Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, overlooking our 5-acre lake and mountain views in the background. This site also has its own dock and is just a short walk to Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream cascades behind the site and feeds the lake. Locally, the North end of Fort Valley offers many great hiking trails, trout fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and the Elizabeth Furnace day-use park. Taskers Gap OHV/ATV park is a short drive south, and the valley is sandwiched between both forks of the Shenandoah River for those looking to paddle. Additionally, the local towns (Front Royal, Strasburg, Woodstock) offer their own charm and wide range of activities and attractions.
