I would like to thank our many campers who came down from Canada and around the world to visit our small tract of tranquility. We are a one hundred year old family owned farm with an organic garden, Permaculture garden, an apiary, and Christmas trees on six acres. We have horseshoes, tether ball, a small library and disc golf. Early spring the frogs go crazy later followed by the sounds of nesting birds. Fall is the season for migrating birds that rest at the ponds next door. August is the time to fill up on blackberries. There are individual campsites with a barbecue and picnic table and a shared fire pit. The fire pit didn't see much use last two years because of the fire danger so we have moved it to an open area that will be safer and hopefully be open longer, there is also an area at each campsite if you want to bring a propane fire ring (or we will have some for rent). I want to thank past campers for their suggestions, they have been tremendously valuable. We are becoming increasingly suburban and there is some road noise that can be heard and even with farms on three sides of us, you still might hear our neighbors in the distance. Campsites one and four are across the road from each other and campsites two and three are adjacent to each other, perfect if you have another family traveling with you. The Washington State Fair is 3.9 miles/ 13 minutes away, Tacoma Dome 7.5 miles/ 18 minutes, Point Defiance Park Zoo and Aquarium 19 miles/ 30 minutes and Wild Waves water park is 15 miles/ 26 minutes away. Eagles, hawks and Ospreys are frequent visitors to our property.

Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. Want to add boating to your visit, reach out to South Sound Sailing Tours / Capt. Corey (360) 489-7476, CaptainCorey76@gmail.com .

Tuck into your private campsite amongst the trees with sweeping field and farm views. Sites are spaced apart from eachother, nestled along a forested tree line. These tent sites are about a 300ft walk from the parking lot, and vehicles can not access the sites. Each site offers a picnic table and fire pit. *Please pay attention to the fact that these are walk-in sites, and you'll be hauling your camping items from the parking area over uneven ground. We provide a cart to help tote your items, if needed. Pack accordingly* There is a communal central deck for camper's use, with a sink, propane stove, some cooking utensils, power outlet and a hose bib. A communal port-a-potty is available to campers. The working farm fields are not open to campers, but can be admired as a backdrop. Wave hi to any farmers you see out there working! A You-Pick flower patch and farm stand at the entrance of the property are open for frolicking, picture-taking and flower-picking seasonally. You'll see bald eagles, hear owls and watch deer pass through your camp. But you are only about a 5-10 min walk from town! This does mean you'll often hear music from events on weekend evenings, and plane traffic does fly overhead. Vashon is quiet and full of nature, but you're not out in the middle of nowhere! We hope you enjoy all that there is to do here, and create some great stories :)

Our family property offers a more private camping experience than the nearby state parks. The one-acre lot is like a wooded extension of your backyard. Gather your group for communal camping or enjoy some quality time alone in your own separated space. And each spot has its own fire pit. You can also use the communal picnic shelter for group meals, so you can enjoy eating together among the tall trees. Relax by our natural spring pond and maybe spot some wildlife, like owls or woodpeckers. The pond is full of frogs, which is especially fun for the kiddos. For your comfort and privacy, we've provided a portable toilet on site that is professionally maintained regularly. There are also two out-buildings for additional bathroom usage. (We suggest using #1 for going #1, and #2 for freshening up.) If Penrose or Joemma state parks are filled up, come and enjoy our spacious campsites or reserve the entire property. We are conveniently located just about 5 minutes away from both state parks. Find your zen at Zen Rose and create lasting memories with your family and friends. We can't wait to welcome you to our little escape!

Forest camping on a huckleberry farm with a salmon stream. 10 acres of permaculture and mycology includes 5 granite fire pits and loop trails with dispersed tent sites. A remote island, naturist beach and kayak at the creek. Parking is limited. Guests love it here: "We stayed two nights at Curley Creek Canyon and loved the experience! Jerrett was a wonderful host and met us upon arrival with great recommendations of places to explore on his beautiful property. The camp sites are clean, private, and have fire pits, and benches provided. We took the roped trail down to the creek (bring gloves its a bit steep) and saw large groups of salmon swim upstream. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. Thanks, Jerrett for the experience and look forward to our next visit!"

Majestic Meadows is located on the back forested side of 10 acres. Each campsite is placed far enough apart to have privacy to enjoy the serenity of the camping experience. The property is filled with wild life. Mornings will be greeted with birdsong and our fields occasionally with elk, dear, and coyotes. Our property is a bird haven, so if you love watching birds we get regular sightings of Hawks, Eagles, Sparrows, Robins and little peaks of the adorable Humming birds. Our bunny population has no issues reproducing and filling all our bushes with their cute tails. If adventure is your desire, we are located perfectly! Mt. Rainier scenic drive can be enjoyed from either 401 or a short drive to the southern entrance. Passing through Elbe where you can stop for a nice bite to eat on a train at the Mt. Rainier Railroad Dining Co. or visit a car show in the small quaint town of Eatonville. There's a plethora of things to do from hiking to kayaking, fishing, scenic drives, memorable dining, buying local organic fruit, visiting the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and so much more. We truly love our property and it's location and we're excited to share it with you. NOTE: Please clean up after pets and do not leave your trash. We do not offer trash services here. If you see a trash bin it is most likely for storing our kindling. Please do not leave your trash in it. Pack it out with you. We maintain our property and clean the toilets once or twice a week.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have about your stay or local attractions.
