Weekend Trip to AYH Ranch Campground & Lodging

Quiet, relaxing area not too far from town with adorable shops and restaurants. My dogs and I loved having a trail system starting right from our camp spot, into a private forested area with a beautiful lake. We ran all around the lake and explored some of the offshoots as well. Also loved having a private, indoor space to use the restroom and shower, as well as a shared space to relax inside. Not a complaint whatsoever- but just an FYI to anyone tent camping with dogs: Hipcamp does not disclose or list the $5/dog fee for outside camping, and did not relay pet information to the host. Even though I listed 2 dogs on my reservation, the host does not see that on her end. Some kind of Hipcamp glitch. So, if you book on here and have dogs- make sure you reach out and let the host know. Wasn’t a big deal and host was understanding about waiting until I could get into town for cash to pay the pet fee. But, just so you’re not surprised when you arrive 🙂

Weekend Trip to Camp Hideaway

We spent a rainy weekend here and it couldn't have been better. We had the place to ourselves, including the large covered firepit. The cabin is really cozy and includes a coffee maker and all the dishes/cookware you may need. Unfortunately the rope bridge was pulled in for the season, but we walked the short trails available. I highly recommend staying here!

For my first experience in my van I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful space. Judy is an amazing host and manages a wonderful community space. Bathrooms, showers, and kitchen were clean and tidy. Being able to have my dog off leash and play in the field was awesome! It’s so good I extended my stay by another 5 days!

We spent two lovely nights enjoying the facilities and grounds. Fully equipped kitchen and warm bathroom and showers. January was the perfect time as we had the whole place to ourselves.

Thanks Judy for your kindness and hospitality! You had the only spot to camp on Vashon in the winter! Being able to use the facilities on a 30 degree night in a tent made a crazy spur of the moment bike tour more bearable. In true hostel fashion, clean communal kitchen and restrooms with all the accessories you could ever dream of. A very nice spread, I can only imagine how beautiful it is during the other seasons.

8 nights at Carbon Canyon Ranch

This was a great place for my family to stay, We ended staying for awhile. The views were nice and the animals were friendly. The game room was a good place for the kids to get away from us and enjoy some free time. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to relax and get away from it all. It is also close to plenty of hiking. The hosts (Len and Kimberly) were helpful but gave us our space & privacy, they are super nice and friendly.

There is a full game room for your enjoyment and free wifi. Both sites are full RV sites with 50 amp, water, sewer. Less than an hours drive from Crystal Mountain Resort. Located at the top of Carbon Canyon we have endless trails for hiking, horse riding, and motor sports. Feel free to bring your toys and you can drive right off the property. You will be staying in a rural area next to horses, goats, pigs, chickens. A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget. The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue. The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants. If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. We have farm fresh eggs for sale and firewood bundles. Evening solar lights and festoon lighting in trees that allow for relaxing atmosphere. Spaces large enough for large busses and trailers for directly pull in in spaces #1 and #2. Space #3 is back-in only. Upon entry to property if you need to disconnect vehicle or trailers, there is a large space Southeast upon entry. Caretaker lives on site in the farmhouse. Overview

Just an hour from Seattle, the Snoqualmie Pass area is a world apart. As you drive up I-90, the city falls away, and the Washington wild takes over. Skiers fly down snow-covered peaks, and secluded campsites dot the forest. The breathtaking Snoqualmie River winds through it all, drawing paddlers and anglers.

Start your trip with a visit to Snoqualmie Falls, which roars over a cliff west of North Bend. RV parks near the falls are a great home base for tubing and kayaking on the river.

Further up the Snoqualmie River, sleep among the pines at Denny Creek Campground. Grab a site with a picnic table or electrical hookups; reservations are a must. If you’re in search of peace and quiet, a better option is the Middle Fork Campground. The Forest Service keeps the area clean, and the Middle Fork Trail is ideal for hiking and biking along the river.

Throughout the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, you’ll find a vast range of campsites. At Lake Easton State Park, try kid-friendly swimming and biking. Tinkham, a favorite of anglers, provides space for tent camping and RVs. For quiet hiking and fly fishing, load up your gear and camp in the backcountry.

Most local campgrounds close when the snow falls. You can still enjoy the wilderness—book a cabin or a glamping retreat. Bundle up and head into the Snoqualmie area for Nordic and downhill skiing, ice fishing, and snowshoeing.
