The owners have a small garden and some fruit trees that are for owner's use only, but you are happy to walk around and tour the garden. Approximately 5 acres of the property is mowed for recreational use. There is a dock for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking or boating. The lake is open to boats, but no jet skis are allowed. You can bring your own water toys and play on the lake all day. There is open space for camping but no running water. The property has a firepit and porta potty for campers use. You will likely see wildlife like eagles (nest nearby), deer, geese, ducks, birds and of course clear, starry night, skies. *This is a working farm so while often you will have the property to yourself and other campers the owners may be present, occasionally, to work on farm projects and property maintenance in the periphery. We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for neighbours to hear. Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall as well a world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off and undercut banks. ATV's are idle in - idle out. QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended. LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights. CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full and is available between 9 AM and 8 PM. WATER: We do have a non-potable water tap in the park. I'm not allowed to say that the water at the waterfall/creek is good water - so I won't. BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens. Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.

Soon we will be getting our winter high tides, sometimes the high water almost kisses the deck. Can be exciting. Come stay in our cabin at the estuary on Turners Bay, where wildlife is abundant and easy to see. The Bamboo cabin is very private and has everything you need to just hang out. Saltgrass's location allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking at Anacortes Washington Park or Kukutali Preserve State Park crabbing, fishing, birding, bicycling and, the beach, my kids actually found a bottle with a message inside years ago. Alternatively, you could explore the many little shops in the towns of La Conner and Anacortes. There are multiple activities available, I would suggest calling ahead in order to book kayaking, rock climbing, whale watching, or a sailing charter. You could easily take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a ferry ride out of Anacortes, walk on or book ahead if you are taking your car. Also, the Swinomish Casino and golf course are within two miles. While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, we also have two cats and several chickens. On the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Sean, Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! . We thank you all for visiting our place and hope we meet your expectations. During holidays you can see multiple community fireworks displays! Blackberries are ripe from the middle of July through September. You are welcome to pick as many as you like during your visit. The campsite has a gazebo with furniture and fire table. Please let us know if you might like to use the fire table in the evening, and we will refill its propane tank. There is also a fire ring. Current burn ban rules will be posted. Acres of grass to wander through, and a Portapotty for your convenience. There is running water, but it is piped from the creek via solar-powered pump, and is not potable. During the winter we pull the pump. Water is available from the busy creek just feet away. With our unique location nestled in the foothills of Stewart Mt and the peaceful Squalicum Valley. Rusty Ranch Tree Farm offers 110 acres of meadows and forest. Our location provides easy access to much of our local recreation options and is only 10 min east of Bellingham. The camp area is spacious and can easily accommodate your family and even a couple of friends. Scattered trees offer shade, and large grassy areas provide ample space to roam. Rusty Ranch Tree Farm is dedicated to "Eduction through Exploration" where we strive to provide your family and friends with more than just a place to amp, but also a place to experience nature and learn about forestry, farming and making maple syrup from trees right here on our farm.. Hike the several miles of nature trails on the hillside and explore our 65 acres of certified forest. Placards on the nature trail are part of our self-guided tour and provide information about forestry and the plants and animals that call this their home. Wander through the old growth groves, walk the 50' boardwalk and see the magical Fern Ridge. There are abundant wildflowers and seasonal berries to pick, as well as a variety of fall apples and pears in the old orchard available for self harvest. You can even purchase a tree to take home and plant. Other farm experiences include a guided interactive nature tour for your group, a class on making maple syrup, or experience farm life and come "hang with the hens" or enjoy some interactive "pony time." We also offer the opportunity to purchase seasonal fruits and vegetables brought to your site. Don't forget to stop by the Snack Shack for fresh cinnamon rolls, a self serve coffee bar, ice cream bars, snacks, drinks, apparel and locally made gifts. Stayed Oct 1–4 on a Waterview RV Site (full hookup, 30-amp) in our 20-foot Sprinter. Backed right in overlooking Sequim Bay — the view alone was worth it. Everything worked exactly as promised: power, water, sewer, cable, and Wi-Fi, zero issues across three nights. Tracy was a great host — responsive, easy check-in. Left feeling like we'd found a gem. We'd absolutely stay here again.

We had a nice stay at this marina. Our spot was picturesque, looking out over the water and distant hills, lots of shore birds, very peaceful. The hosts were knowledgeable about the area, fun, and good communicators. The amenities were great--nice heated bathrooms and showers, a laundry room with book/video library, and a few fire pits and play areas.

We had an exceptional experience at campsite 1 at Dave’s Last Resort. Easy pull in parking. The large and unique fire pit was great! The string of lights in the trees was a lovely feature! The beautiful river was only steps away from our RV. Wonderful trails along the river to walk and soak up the serenity. The campsite feels very remote and secluded but it is only a short drive to Hwy 101, restaurants and shopping. One of the best camping experiences we have had. Thank you Richard for sharing your beautiful river front property.

Great camp. Host was super polite and quick to respond. Obstacle course was fabulous. Bathroom was clean. All the sites were recently mowed. We stayed at site 14-only site with 3 corrals. We had the entire camp to ourselves and we took advantage of the full moon; lots of night riding. Thank you to the Host and Owners for sharing this wonderful camp with the public.

The host I communicated with was pleasant to talk to and accommodating to my needs. The resident bunnies were the highlight of the trip and also being on the water. It was relatively quiet and peaceful, too. I would definiteky stay here again if I plan to come to the area again.

We love this spot! It is so private, quiet and magical!! We can go hang out at the big river or just relax by little off shoot creek from the river. The shelter provides a great spot to hang out if the weather turns. Richard is so easy to work with and responds quickly! We can’t wait to come back!!

Stayed one night at Jim's and everything was perfect. A bit of a steep hill to get to his massive property but the views from his deck were worth it! We had the option to take a warm shower before bed and it was so nice. Jim is a great host that knows how to take care of his guests. 10/10 would stay there again and definitely recommend!!

Where to go

Orcas Island

Orcas Island is the biggest island in the San Juans, and has plenty of amenities, including restaurants, museums, shops, and camping options. It’s also home to the largest of Washington’s state parks—Moran State Park—a fantastic place for hiking, and boating. Tent and RV camping is available in the park, but campers need to secure reservations ahead of time. If you have your own boat, you can also visit nearby Sucia Island Marine State Park, an uninhabited, pristine spot directly north of Orcas Island.

San Juan Island

San Juan Island is popular among adventurers and history lovers, and the San Juan Island National Historical Park is a must-visit for anyone who wants to learn about the Pig War, a boundary dispute between Britain and the U.S. that all started because of a trespassing pig. The park is for day use only, but you'll find tent and RV sites at San Juan County Park on the west side of San Juan Island, overlooking Haro Straight, and at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.

Lopez Island

The third-most populated island in the chain, Lopez Island offers 63 miles of shoreline and a mix of forests, farmlands, galleries, and boutiques. The island is popular among cyclists, with quiet, mostly flat roads, and has a few great places to camp, including Spencer Spit State Park, which has reservable and hiker/biker sites, a dump station, flush toilets, but no hookups or showers, and Odlin County Park has seven RV sites for vehicles less than 30-feet-long, but no hookups.

Shaw Island

Shaw Island is the smallest of the four main San Juan Islands that are accessible by ferry, with a year-round population of only around 200 people. You can camp at Shaw County Park, which offers 11 tent camping sites, a boat launch, picnic tables, and fire pits. Island facilities are limited, but there is a general store by the ferry landing where you can buy food and supplies.
