We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning.
Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway.
We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas.
There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

End of the road. Start of an epic camping weekend. River to the side, Cascade foothills surround. Close to the north cascades Natnl Park. Minutes from live music, bars and mexican restaurant. Rails to trail for bikes and walking. Tward the end of july the river starts to recede opening up more possibilities of having interaction with the river. That being said its crucial you keep an eye out on your kids. We had a guy out here who almost killed his kids multiple times underestimating the current. Watch out!!Kinda going for the peaceful, listen to the river and birds, vibe. No music. Suana has been redone and now reaches satisfying temperatures. River access via stairs is at the shared area next to the sauna.

My 30 acre farm has two campsites, (they are not close to each other) both allow pets and campfires (outside of burn bans).
One campsite is a beach on the North Fork Stilly, it is shaded most of the time, the sun lovers can paddle with their kayak or wade across to sunbath on an island across the river. tent campers can locate their car or truck on dike and move their supplies on to camping area.. trucks with campers can set up right on dike over looking the stilly. Rigs can set up in the field by the dike!!
the outhouse is back for the season!!!
The second campsite is on 4 acres you will have to yourself by a creek;
Rhodes River Ranch Restaurant is walking distance away to go enjoy dinner;
the Whitehorse trail for biking or walking is only a mile away;
Enjoy the view of Whitehorse and three fingers mountain.
Lake Cavanaugh is nearby, and regional activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking, , paddling, wind sports, and off-roading.

We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for neighbours to hear.
Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest & bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise.
Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer & fall & world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate.
There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off & undercut banks.
ATV's are idle in - idle out.
QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended.
LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights.
CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times!
FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 9 AM and 8 PM.
BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens.
Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.
If you prefer, we have 6 bare-bones fishermen's cabins. All the details are on my Tamihi Meadows site under "Cabins".

18 acres of the property is agricultural land that is open space. The owners have a small garden and some fruit trees that are for owner's use only, but you are happy to walk around and tour the garden. Approximately 5 acres of the property is mowed for recreational use.
There is a dock for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking or boating. The lake is open to boats, but no jet skis are allowed. You can bring your own water toys and play on the lake all day. There is open space for camping but no running water. The property has a firepit and porta potty for campers use.
You will likely see wildlife like eagles (nest nearby), deer, geese, ducks, birds and of course clear, starry night, skies.
*This is a working farm so while often you will have the property to yourself and other campers the owners may be present, occasionally, to work on farm projects and property maintenance in the periphery. We will always be respectful or your space and keep our projects to reasonable hours.
There is a gas station, coffee shop, public beach, over 21 restaurant/bar and small store within walking distance from the property too.

Come stay in our cabin at the estuary on Turners Bay where wildlife is abundant and easy to see. The Bamboo cabin is very private and has everything you need to just hang out. Saltgrass's location allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking at Anacortes Washington Park or Kukutali Preserve State Park crabbing, fishing, birding, bicycling and, the beach, my kids actually found a bottle with a message inside years ago.
Alternatively, you could explore the many little shops in the towns of La Conner and Anacortes. There are multiple activities available, I would suggest calling ahead in order to book kayaking, rock climbing, whale watching, or a sailing charter. You could easily take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a ferry ride out of Anacortes, walk on or book ahead if you are taking your car. Also, the Swinomish Casino and golf course are within two miles.
While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, we also have two cats and several chickens. On the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Shawn, Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! . We thank you all for visiting our place and hope we meet your expectations.
October 10, 2025, A new addition to the bamboo cabin; we built gates that allow you to secure the deck as an outside space for your dog.

Camp in a private grove of trees overlooking acres of pastures with grazing sheep, miniature cattle, ponies, and horses. Depending upon the time of year, there may be lambs, newborn calves or puppies. From December to June a creek burbles by. During holidays you can see multiple community fireworks displays!
The campsite has a gazebo with furniture and fire table. There is also a fire ring, but burn bans sometimes begin as early as the middle of June. Current burn ban rules will be posted.
Acres of grass to wander through, and a Portapotty for your convenience. There is running water, but it is piped from the creek via solar-powered pump, and is not potable.
During the winter we pull the pump. Water is available from the busy creek just feet away.

June Bud Farms was established in 1960s.
Blending two single parents, each with 4 kids. While June & Bud raised 8 kids, they collected Registered Holsteins for their quaint dairy. As the Dairy grew to 110 acres home to 120 heifers', they soon had to add an additional milking parlor. From milking 4 cows to a staggering 12 at once, Bud made the paper for the cutting edge technology!
As time marches on, the kids all grown, the little farm retired. Fast forward to 2020, its time to breath new life into this stout and sturdy barn. Cows are not in the current foreseeable future, but flowers are. We will carry on the name of Grandma June and Grandpa Bud. The play on the names is still quite fitting, and June Bud Farms continues to live on.
Now, we warmly welcome visitors to our farm, where they can create cherished memories while camping and hosting events, whether large or small. Enjoy the tranquil landscapes of Whatcom County here at June Bud Farms.

I loved this campsite! I got in a little later than I wanted to but Shaum met me as I was driving in and guided me to the campsite. Gave me a good rundown of everything available. I so appreciate that there was firewood readily available so I could start a fire quick. Overall, I would 100% recommend it to anyone that’s stopping by Bellingham. There’s a ton to do around the area too.

The sniff spots are also a great addition for dogs to explore and play. There are chickens and ducks nearby for kids.

The host, Shaums, I felt went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, and was happy to provide his own stuff to help, for instance, he provided a mattress inflator and a popup canopy to help with the rain. The bed was super comfortable to me (though be aware there is an 1 foot plus gap between the head of the bed and the wall in case that’s impactful in terms of your sleeping needs) and the bedding was super comfy—layers of a couple blankets that felt like a perfect balance of warmth and weight. I was also grateful to have some cooking basics to use (the single serving french press was great).
I loved the light coming in, the ebb and flow of the water through the day, and getting to enjoy all the birds (highlights were watching a little robin mid-forage with a ton of grass in its beak and very skillfully add more to the bundle and a really beautiful-to-watch kestrel).
I’m glad to have had time to relax somewhere so beautiful with my dog, who means everything to me.

Great little spot to camp! Loved the water view and the short walk to the lake. Didn’t have any neighbours on site 1 which was nice. The hosts helped us get some firewood as we didn’t have any. And gave us a 5 gallon of water which was nice!
We did hear some trains/fast cars overnight from the highway across the water. But overall a great stay for the long weekend.

We had a fantastic camping experience with Brent and Sherri! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. We really enjoyed the easy access to the lake, nearby hiking trails, and all the nature around the property — perfect for a relaxing outdoor getaway with family.
Brent and Sherri were amazing hosts throughout our stay. They checked in on us, brought water when needed, and were always just a message away if we needed anything. Their hospitality truly made the experience even better.
Overall, a great camping spot with wonderful hosts. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy nature, hiking, and a relaxing camping experience!

Where to go
Orcas Island
Orcas Island is the biggest island in the San Juans, and has plenty of amenities, including restaurants, museums, shops, and camping options. It’s also home to the largest of Washington’s state parks—Moran State Park—a fantastic place for hiking, and boating. Tent and RV camping is available in the park, but campers need to secure reservations ahead of time. If you have your own boat, you can also visit nearby Sucia Island Marine State Park, an uninhabited, pristine spot directly north of Orcas Island.
San Juan Island
San Juan Island is popular among adventurers and history lovers, and the San Juan Island National Historical Park is a must-visit for anyone who wants to learn about the Pig War, a boundary dispute between Britain and the U.S. that all started because of a trespassing pig. The park is for day use only, but you'll find tent and RV sites at San Juan County Park on the west side of San Juan Island, overlooking Haro Straight, and at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.
Lopez Island
The third-most populated island in the chain, Lopez Island offers 63 miles of shoreline and a mix of forests, farmlands, galleries, and boutiques. The island is popular among cyclists, with quiet, mostly flat roads, and has a few great places to camp, including Spencer Spit State Park, which has reservable and hiker/biker sites, a dump station, flush toilets, but no hookups or showers, and Odlin County Park has seven RV sites for vehicles less than 30-feet-long, but no hookups.
Shaw Island
Shaw Island is the smallest of the four main San Juan Islands that are accessible by ferry, with a year-round population of only around 200 people. You can camp at Shaw County Park, which offers 11 tent camping sites, a boat launch, picnic tables, and fire pits. Island facilities are limited, but there is a general store by the ferry landing where you can buy food and supplies.
