Join us in our cabin overlooking the water at the mouth of Turner Bay. This is a family property with the host on site in the main house. We are seeing the fall colors across the water. In December the tides are high in the morning daylight hours and the reflection of the trees is beautiful. We have an HVAC system so you can stay warm in the winter months! The unique property allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, crabbing; and fishing (seasonal), Birding, bicycling and playing on the beach, high tide twice a day brings in all sorts of wildlife as well as the occasional message in a bottle. As winter is here the tide gets higher every two-week cycle, check the tides for a dramatic visit. For La Conner local tides, use link below: https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/noaatidepredictions.html?id=9448558 We are located very close to many amenities. You will find the Swinomish Casino and golf course within two miles. Or spend time exploring the little shops and local entertainment in the small towns of Anacortes and La Conner. You can also take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a scenic ferry ride out of Anacortes. During the winter with freezing weather there may not be running water. On the property you may meet our pup Turner, or our cats Poly and Minnie Mouser, we also have several chickens that provide us with eggs most of the time. Also on the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Shawn who lives in a retro build bus at the north end. Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! Our property has been host to many events, such as weddings, family reunions, company picnics, a music festival, and life celebrations. If you are interested, please let us know. We are always evolving our land to share with others.Open all year round! This very private small cabin is nestled in the bamboo. It sits above the tide flats with a wraparound deck. The wall facing the beach is almost all windows with a long view of the bay. There is a new heat and air conditioning unit, a full kitchen, with a four-burner propane stove ,(oven temporarily not working). Refrigerator, a coffee pot and a toaster. A queen Murphy bed with bedding and a twin loft. An adjoining private bathroom with shower, towels and a compost toilet. Surrounded by beach, bamboo and our gardens, a wonderful place to relax.

Bamboo Cabin
We enjoyed the cabin! It was plenty of space for two women, a baby, and a German shepherd. Nancy was an amazing host (and also Turner of course). We had everything we needed plus some toys she lended to us. What a wonderful stay! We will be back!

A Beautiful Fall Weekend
My partner and I had a wonderful weekend away to celebrate our anniversary at Bamboo Cabin. Nancy has curated a perfect slice of paradise just a quick 15 min drive from Anacortes and the perfect weekend trip from Seattle. We loved curling up and reading the books we bought at the local used book store, Pelican Bay watching the tide go in and out. The view from the cabin was magical and we enjoyed watching all the wildlife while we made breakfast. The cabin is tucked away, very private and you feel like you are in a different world. Curated with care, we can’t wait to recommend the Bamboo Cabin to our friends. The little cabin heater works perfectly to keep you nice and toast inside! We can’t wait to return to the cabin during the summer to explore the outdoors more.

Bamboo Cabin
My wife, Pug and I enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Cabin immensely! It was very cozy and right on the water/tide flats. We enjoyed relaxing on the view deck and watching the herons and other wildlife. It's definitely a bit rustic (composting toilet) and there's some distant traffic noise but those were not issues for us. Nancy is a wonderful host, with a very warm personality and lots of information about the area. She has kayaks that you can use and she gave me a tour of her lovely property and many projects. We give the Bamboo Cabin a thumbs up!
