Join us in our cabin overlooking the saltwater at the mouth of Turner Bay. This is a family property with the host on site in the main house. The cabin is really cozy as we have an HVAC system so you can stay warm in the winter months, and cool in the summer. The unique property allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, crabbing; and fishing (seasonal), Birding, bicycling and playing on the beach, high tide twice a day brings in all sorts of wildlife as well as the occasional message in a bottle. For small craft (kayak or canoe) boating from here the most accurate tide chart is La Conner Wash. There must be a high tide to get in or out of our little bay. https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/noaatidepredictions.html?id=9448558 We are located very close to many amenities. Some of which you need to call ahead to arrange. For instance, rock climbing, or kayak rentals. You will find the Swinomish Casino and golf course within two miles. Or spend time exploring the little shops and local entertainment in the small towns of Anacortes and La Conner. You can also take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a scenic ferry ride out of Anacortes. While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, or our cats Poly and Minnie, we also have several chickens that provide us with eggs most of the time. Also on the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Shawn who lives in a retro build bus at the north end. Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! Our property has hosted many events, such as weddings, family reunions, company picnics, a music festival, and life celebrations. If you are interested, please let us know. We are always evolving our land to share with others.Open all year round! This very private small (210sq ft +loft) cabin is nestled in the bamboo. It sits above the tide flats with a wraparound deck. The wall facing the beach is almost all windows with a long view of the bay. There is a new heat and air conditioning unit. There is also a full kitchen, with hot and cold water, a sink, a new four-burner propane stove with oven. A refrigerator, coffee pot and a toaster. A queen Murphy bed with bedding and a twin loft with mattress, sheets and blankets provided. An adjoining private bathroom with shower, shampoo, soap, towels and a compost toilet. Surrounded by beach, bamboo and our gardens, a wonderful place to relax.

Magical Hidaway
The Bamboo cabin is a magical spot. Nancy was a fantastic host. The cabin was clean and she had the AC on because it was hot. The land surrounding the cabin is beautiful. The cabin is on the end of a bay. There is salt marsh off the steps of the deck. We will be back.

Sweet cabin with it all!
I cannot wait to visit Saltgrass Cabin again! Nancy was very communicative before my visit and was welcoming when I arrived. She showed me around the property and answered my questions. The cabin is darling! It's beautifully unique with a lovely view. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. So cleverly crafted as well! It was just me and my dog so we didn't need to stow the murphy bed, but if you want more floor space, it's easily achieved. There were chairs and a card table available. The deck had nice furniture which is where I enjoyed my meals. It faces the west so prepare to be blasted in the evening, but the sunset view is gorgeous. There's a well equipped kitchen with a nice sized fridge. I was able to cook a full meal. In addition to the stove and oven, there was a toaster, electric kettle, and coffee maker. The water tasted good! I visited during a 90° heat wave, but the cabin's AC kept us comfortable. The bathroom was clean, the shower had nice shampoo and conditioner. I had no previous experience with a compost toilet and was a little apprehensive, but it was fine. Nothing at all like an outhouse or vault toilet. (Yay!) My dog and I loved walking in the tall grass. Watching the tide go in and out was quite dramatic! Overall, a perfect way to relax and recharge. Highly recommend.

Bamboo Cabin
This was everything we needed and more. The property is gorgeous, secluded, and changes with the tides-you could spend your entire time on the porch. Comfortable sleeping/hanging arrangements for 2 people and our dogs-who loved playing all around and with Turner, the host's dogs as well. Which brings me to the hosts! SO cool! This property is the result of hard work and love and that really shows. What a special place to visit-will absolutely be back.

Stunning views and warm hospitality
Nancy’s space was a perfect place to land after exploring Anacortes and Deception Pass. We had everything we needed (heat and AC) and so much space to roam around. The views from the cabin window and patio watching the tides roll in and out was cool to watch. Nancy was incredibly kind, communicative, and helped us out with baby items as we had a little one in tow. She gave us a tour of her beautiful gardens, we learned about the chickens at feed time, and we saw 10!! Bald eagles circling and fishing from our balcony. Was such a relaxing and safe space and I can’t wait to book again!

Bamboo Cabin
Nancy's cabin feels so secluded and magical, yet it's so close to town. The cabin is quaint and quiet and the view from the wall of windows is gorgeous. The cabin and bathroom were sparkly clean, the sheets were soft and the property is beautiful
