This is a stand alone structure w/small AC unit and wall heater. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, this IS a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods,pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
One block away is Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. A mile north, explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. 2 blocks south is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has breweries, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, and plenty of coffee shops/restaurants.

These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. Our property is directly across the street from access to the national forest service roads with miles of roads and trails. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

The cabin sleeps 4, offering one Queen size bed and one queen futon in the living room that faces a smart t.v. utilizing Starlink Internet. The kitchen offers all of your kitchen needs(minus running water from the faucet).
Also, in the cabin you’ll find a smart speaker to hook up to, two African djembe drums, a ukulele and an Australian didgeridoo. Let your musical side come on out!
Note:
There is no running water on site or septic system. Bring your own drinking water or filter from the river. Water is available in town as well. A porta potty is centered between the camping site and the cabin site.
Generously portioned bundles of firewood including kindling are for purchase located under the cute A-frame structure near outhouse.
Bring your food, water, camp chairs, bug spray, swimsuits, water toys and all your essentials for having a lovely camping and outdoor experience in one of the most beautiful areas of Washington State.

Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!)
GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked.
CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable.
All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside.
ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide.
SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :)

Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch
We absolutely loved this Hipcamp. It was our anniversary weekend. The first night, it was my husband and I. It was a lovely romantic retreat with the grounds, lightning and a cute cabin to be cozy in. Our second night our 5 and 7 year old joined us. They loved it too! The kitchen was perfectly stocked with the necessities for cooking. We ate most meals out as the spot was only 10 minutes from the cutest town with great food. We made brioche French toast the morning with kids and they got to explore the gardens picking some blackberries to spread on the French toast. The s’mores set up, shared you basket for kids and jam muffins were a great touch. Even with rain, the space was perfect to read books, make outdoor breakfast and explore the grounds with raincoats. I suggest bringing easy to put on shoes to maneuver to the restroom in the middle of the night. I will be adding this spot to my faves list!

Our first Hipcamp experience and it was amazing! My favorite things about the site was the river and easy access to it, the forest and little trails, the privacy and the location is ideal. My favorite things about the cabin was how clean and comfortable the bed was, how clean inside and no bugs, the comfy futons, the convenience of everything supplied and the wood stove. The host was responsive and nice, clearly they love their little house. We'd had a reservation at another site but they had to cancel and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did. It was rainy and cold but we were toasty and happy until the sun came back. Perfect little camping spot for the PNW!

Cedar River Cabin was just what we needed to ring in the last weekend of summer! The hosts are amazing and were very patient with my pregnancy brain messing up the code to get into the cabin 😂. The land is beautiful and they have everything you could need! I packed way too much! Brittany really takes care of her guests. My dogs loved the property too! There was no shortage of sniffing for them! We can’t wait to come back as a family of 4!

2 nights at Laughing Leaf Cottage
Lovely spot to relax and home base around the Kitsap Peninsula. The Jackery power unit was ample providing energy for light, making coffee with the provided electric kettle, and also device charging.
The porch setup was great for morning, afternoon and evening relaxation. We brought our camp stove, and cook pans, with a stand, and it fit nicely for use in the porch area.
Appreciated the large fresh water jug Jonathan and Kai provided.
The bed was comfy. The daytime warmth was held well by the cottage, so it was comfortable all night, and in the morning- even though it cooled down quite a bit outside in the nights we were there.
The numerous battery operated small lamps were functional illuminantion and provided nice ambiance.

I stayed at Moss Haven with my three kids and we made so many good memories! We watched the bats come out at dusk and the kids practiced archery endlessly. I loved how much natural light was in the cabin and the kids want lofted beds at home now. With Joe's kitchen set-up, I was able to make our fanciest camp food yet. The cabin includes everything you could need and a lot of thoughtful touches, like mounted hand sanitizer and the tide chart for our stay written out. We really enjoyed swimming at the beach; the trail is steep and rope assisted - it was fine for my six and seven year old and my four year old needed hand-holding, to give you an idea. We enjoyed paddle boarding on nearby Lake Leland and the Peninsula Food Market was just a short drive away (Mom forgot ketchup). We can't wait to visit again next summer!

It was a pleasure staying at Joes private cabin. While we were checking in he explained the books and crannies of the cabin. I was fascinated to know that he was the one who built and planned it all! The cabin was clean, private and even had a hot shower! The solar panels charged the batteries while you were out climbing mountains which provided more than enough power. Thank you Joe for the awesome stay and I will be back!

This site was perfect for our whole family. Our kids are 7 and 4 years old and were able to manage the stairs up to the bathroom, loved the bunk room and all the pirate fun, and really enjoyed the lake. Our dog enjoyed the freedom the leash pulley system through the property allowed him. And my husband and I got the right amount of rest, peace, and play. We weren’t quite ready for a full camping trip and this cabin had enough indoor amenities to make the experience painless (comfy beds, clean and functional indoor kitchen, and tv for wind down time) and enough campsite amenities (picnic table, lake recreation equipment, outdoor shower) to make it feel like we were experiencing the best of the outdoors without the sometimes frustrating challenges of camping with young kids.
Kevin has also incorporated a really fun pirate theme into the cove and it made the whole stay even more memorable. Our kids have already made us promise to come back next summer and we look forward to it!

I just stayed 2 nights over the weekend with my daughter and dog. The cabin was perfect for our needs. It's comfortable, clean,.and better stocked than expected with microwave, toaster, etc. and several blankets. We enjoyed the dock and tried out the kayaks. I was glad to have brought life jackets and a long cable leash which helped us positition the kayaks on the water and also kept the youth kayak connected to mine. A camping shower came in handy for rinsing after.
The place felt private enough but it did get pretty noisy down the lake with sounds of a late-rising rooster, lots of cheering, laughing, loud music and some questionable singing 😄

Such a beautiful spot!! This is an amazing price and so comfy and cute!! We love love loved staying a few nights here and loved the garden, blackberries, the swings, occasional visits from pups, and the outdoor shower! It was such a lovely stay and we can’t wait to be back! CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!! 10/10!!

3 nights at The Plank and Pillow on Pirate Cove
Thank you for such a fun experience! The best part was all of the water toys we were able to use! Such a quiet and peaceful location. It’s our first time using hip camp and hopefully a bathroom is installed so we can return! That was the only issue the porter potty location. Other than that we enjoyed every bit of the cabin we even brought our projector so we had a movie night outside under the stars cabin is fully stocked Kevin literally thought of everything!

Beautiful property, right on the river, awesome views adorable cabins each thoughtfully planed. Andrea communicates extremely well and is very friendly. We felt like guests not customers. Private beach access great spot for swimming or water activities. We saw lots of eagles and wildlife. Andrea provided so many amenities, including kayaks. Make sure to visit the sandbar tavern right across the street, so whimsical and fun! We are already planning our next trip.
