What an amazing stay! It’s obvious the owners make such a great team (in the Hipcamp realm and as partners). Beautiful couple! I am afraid to say I had no idea what a Capybara was. Now I can’t quit researching them! My favorite rodent now!!! The goats were gorgeous! And to pet a porcupine? I never ever contemplated this in my life but here I was, petting a porcupine! The dry camp areas were also so beautiful. As we walked down to the farm once set up we were escorted by curious Lammas. When I opened up the trailer door in the morning the Lammas were right at our site, eating a grass breakfast. So much fun for me. I felt like a kid again.

2 nights at The Khohay Farm

Khokay we are still dreaming about your beautiful tiny house and farm. You made it so comfortable for us, it was such a peaceful space. I love your doggies, fresh eggs 💕, the chickens, goat, sheep, and the potential of seeing elk! The tiny house had everything we needed and more. I enjoyed doing some yoga in the morning with a cup of tea. Also the outhouse was surprisingly amazing! 🤩 I am sad we ran out of time to try out the gym, sauna, farmers cold plunge and bike rentals… but we will be back for more later! Thanks again ❤️💕

I loved that it was only 20 min from Niscually entrance of Mount Rainer. The campground is in the forest. I was worried about “the train” but it’s so cute everyone comes out and takes photos of it has it goes by. The campground also has little sculpture gems my favorite was the raccoon.

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

The sunset from the property was so beautiful. Dawson had set up the fire in the stove to be so easy to start for the sauna. We loved being able to bask in the warmth of the sauna then cold plunge into the rain water shower just outside of the sauna. It was great to have the compostable toilet attached to the cabin. We loved the setup.

Everything was great! Hosts were kind and accommodating. The site was great, with plenty of morning shade and flat ground to pitch our tent. Best part was the visits we’d get from the goats, horses and a rooster!

2 nights at Wildfern Grove

I went tent camping with my daughter for her first time ever, in this campground was such a great way to get her in the outdoors. The community center was really helpful with a full shower and kitchen, it genuinely was the selling point to get her to go (and the hot tub). Everyone was super friendly, things were quiet and peaceful, The sites themselves spacious with more than enough room for everything we needed, and I have already recommended to several people. Next time I think I'll try a yurt as well!

Great campsite, especially loved the wooden bench swing. Off season so we were the only people there for one night and one of two occupied sites for our second night. We also got to be the first people to use the brand new showers!

Jason and Kat are awesome; so friendly and welcoming! The land is beautiful with a variety of camping spots. The one I used was tucked away and private. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs was soothing. Spending time with all the animals was definitely healing! I highly recommend this place and would love to return there myself sometime!

Great property to camp on with lots of green grass, safe and secure environment at the base of the nearby mountains. Several spots to enjoy privacy. Indoor bathroom & shower (great hot water pressure) are up to date, clean & very modern! Walking distance to the river as well as town wheres there's lots of small town places to eat & 3 thrift stores. Bring food because the local store is a bit too pricey. I highly recommend camping at Blackberry Basecamp & I'll definitely be camping there again this summer! Several towns close by with lots to do in the summer including hiking, fishing, enjoying nature, outdoor Packwood flea market & yard sales. Got visited by some deer while camping & it was a cool experience! The hosts were very nice & accomodating to make sure you're setup. Thank you to them for making my experience very enjoyable! I'll definitely be back to see you all this summer! The Buckshot Tavern in town has really great burgers & nice local folks who make you feel welcome. There's a breakfast diner & a Mexican restaurant. You won't be disappointed at Blackberry Basecamp!

(In some of the pictures you will see the horses in the area of the camp, but whenever there are campers they will not be turned out there.) There is 30 amp electric and water (hose). There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience. 1 Hour to Mt. Rainier National Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia National Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing can be enjoyed nearby. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses. There is also a fabulous movie theater. And only 15 minutes to the Red Wind Casino. There is a railroad track next to the property, but it is only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm when a short train passes by and then returns. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but not often and it has never run after dark or early morning. (It is a military train so pretty punctual). (Also, as we are only a 5 acre property, we are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads though and not highly traveled for the most part.) **Trigger Warning: We are near the military base of JBLM and so you will occasionally hear their military doings. As we are a horse property, we will also require that you sign a standard release of liability waiver.

Less than an hours drive from Crystal Mountain Resort. Located at the top of Carbon Canyon we have endless trails for hiking, horse riding, and motor sports. Feel free to bring your toys and you can drive right off the property. You will be staying in a rural area next to horses, goats, pigs, chickens. A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget. The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue. The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants. If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. Finally the year is capped off with the Christmas festival throughout December. Then there are the many foot and bike races that take place on the foothills trail throughout the year.

Welcome, to the Meadery, we are a working winery with several other interests to investigate as well. Come learn about making Mead. We have an annual cider press in late September or early October as well. Want to learn how to Roast your own coffee bean? Or maybe you are competitive and want to race 132 or 124 slot cars on a Carrera 124 Digital Track. There is also a nice walk in the woods, and if it is hot you can float down the Deschutes River that is very close by. Pitch your tent in a few areas you pick, there are Mountain Bike and Little kid ATV trails around the property as well. For more extensive ATV trails Capital Forest is about 30 minutes away. If you have a Weyerhaeuser permit for the area near me the gate is 2.5 miles away. There is a winery on site and an outside tasting area with a fire pit. Each camp site also has their own fire pits. Two bathrooms with showers. There are powered and non-powered RV sites. Water is available at the water station but not directly at the camp sites. We are pet friendly. We offer firewood for sale on site, camp fires permitted outside of a burn ban. We do not provide garbage service, we expect everyone to carry out what they bring in. Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable. Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). There is a shower and toilet available for use in a separate building from his home in the backyard."
