Just a short drive from Seattle, Mount Rainier offers springtime wildflowers, great hiking, and rock climbing opportunities during the warm summer months. The perpetually snow capped peak is set nearly 15,000 feet above sea level and is particularly popular with ambitious climbers, but there are also plenty of easier hikes for RV campers who want to take it easy. The national park has four campgrounds, three of which allow RVs. These are generally open from May or June until the end of September, and spaces book up quickly. If you want to go RV camping in the area outside of the busy high season or can't find a spot, plenty of privately run alternatives exist, ranging from small, privately owned RV campsites with picnic tables and hookups to larger RV parks with bathrooms, laundry facilities, and playgrounds.

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can see the host's artwork and purchase a piece if you wish. Originals and prints are both available. This is upstairs through the check-in entry area lobby. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site (dumpster) available Memorial Day to Labor Day. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. There is usually traffic going towards the National Park on weekends during peak season (July-August), so we encourage everyone to leave the site by 9 am during those days if you are planning on heading into the park. This camp site is very private and peaceful! We will be open from May 1st through September, 2026. We have a 3 night maximum stay per booking. The site can accommodate up to two RVs or 3-4 tents depending on the distance apart. We allow up to 6 people per booking. The firepit and the Snoqualmie River are about 150' away from your tent or RV. We have a porta-potti at the camp site and also two picnic tables. There are rentals at the lake. Mt. Rainier Railroad Train and Museum begins in Elbe and does a turn around here in Mineral. The Rail Peddle Cycles start a short distance south of Mineral. Mt Rainier is 32 minutes away while Mount St. Helens is 2 hours away. Alder Lake is about 20 minutes away as well as several other lakes are within an hour. There are many hiking trails in the surrounding area.

"Osborne's Den" (tiny A-Frame Cabin) and "The Moose Site" (a full hook up RV/Camp site) both nestled on this quaint 1/2 acre lot (they rent separately... not together). Just minutes from Mt. Rainier National Park. "Osborne's Den" has basic power inside the building and a water spigot just outside. There is a queen sized bed (you bring your own bedding). There is a shared Honeybucket Toilet just across the driveway. You will see the other details in the "site listing" "The Moose" is a level, graveled RV/Camping site. Water and 30 AMP and 20 AMP power and sewer connection. Each site has it's own picnic table, firepit and chairs... perfect for relaxing. Short 10 minute walk/hike down to the Nisqually River. We only stayed one night at the Blue site at the Arboretum on our way back to Seattle from Mt St. Helens, and are already scheming a return visit. It really is a remarkable place… big campsites on a well manicured lawn tucked into the trees with openness but ample privacy. Just about perfect!

All of the sites have a ton of space, so there is ample privacy and quiet. Entire property is imaculately maintained, and the foliage and landscaping is amazing. "Arboretum" is an entirely accurate description! Walks around the property were a great way to start each day, although we didnt get to the river this trip. We'll make a point of it next time. Barb and Terry stopped by on our arrival to check in with the rules and to see if we needed anything, but were not obtrusive at all and both super friendly. In all, it was a relaxing, peaceful stay and we will definitely be back!

We loved how quiet the property was. We were able to hear nature. The kids had fun with the swing and the disc golf on the property. We all played wiffle ball as the sun went down. Super clean campsites. Will definitely be going back again.

This was 1/2 mile from the entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park. Nice shaded area with nice amenities such as a garbage can, grill and firewood. We were at first concerned about road noise, but it would die down around 9pm and ended up being so quiet. I would highly recommend this place.

Barb & Terry were such lovely hosts! Barb greeted us at check-in, and we got to see (and purchase!) her beautiful art. We also were able to purchase some of Terry’s honey. The property was perfect - so lush and so private. We walked to the swimming hole for a quick dip before settling into our nook. It was so quiet and peaceful. We are already excited to go back!

Everything was clean and beautiful and well maintained. The signage was great and easy to read and find your spot. Being surrounded by thousands of Christmas trees and summer is pretty cool. Hosts we're communicative and really nice.

We had a wonderful stay here for our trip to Mt. Rainier! The location was great, and having the whole lot to ourselves by booking the A-frame next door made the setup even better. Jayson was exceptionally accommodating, quick to communicate, and answered all of our questions right away. The only minor issue was that the porta potty definitely needed to be cleaned, but otherwise, it was a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

This was our second time staying at the Blue Site at The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West, and it was every bit as enjoyable as our first visit. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the scenery is absolutely stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were fantastic as always—friendly, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to providing a great experience for their guests. It's obvious they take pride in the property, and it shows throughout the campground. Our family had another wonderful camping trip, and this location is quickly becoming one of our favorite camping destinations. We look forward to coming back again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful place to camp.
