I loved van camping at Lavender View. Justin was a gracious host. The hiking trail was a nice walk through the property, fire rings/pits were provided and wood was readily available if wanted. The PortaPot was well maintained and a shower is being added. Beautiful views from all sides!

Absolutely loved our stay here! We took a family camping trip and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The property was stunning, hospitality was fantastic and overall such an easy experience. We explored the property with our 2 kids and dogs and took the river trail down to the water. Everything about our stay was breath taking. Wide open space for our kiddos to be crazy and not feel like you're camping on top of the site next you. The property was extremely well maintained and felt like we were on a retreat.

You cannot beat the view!!! We were fortunate to have great weather and the mountain was absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed our time on this lovely property. Lisa came by on our second day to check in and make sure we had everything we needed. She also gave us some recommendations on things to do on the island and places to eat. Lisa is a fantastic host. This is our first time camping on this property but we also rented it out in March for our wedding. Both experiences exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a private, peaceful retreat.

A wonder little corner of the earth! We were greeted and communication throughout the whole process was prompt and efficient. The view was out of this world, but keep in mind Mt. Rainier is moody and may come and go in the clouds. Steve and Starla are top notch and this may be the BEST hipcamp we have ever stayed at. Plenty of room, plenty of privacy, and loads of hospitality!

Amazing HUGE campsites! Gorgeous setting. Walk around barefoot. Private! We already booked several more camping trips. My new favorite place to camp. Professional grade fire rings with cooking grates, water at each site, and some with electric. A true gem. Almost don't want to leave a good review as I want to make sure there's spaces to rent!

Staying here with my son and his friend was absolutely amazing! Never in my life have I been able to freely interact with goats, llamas, bunnies, a porcupine, ponies, sweet chickens, capybara's, wallabys, turkeys, emu's, cats, dogs, and baby chicks. The hosts were kind, educational, friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend this place! Camping is private and back aways from the hosts house so felt like you were actually camping!!

We stayed at this property for several nights. The owners are very nice and responsive. The property is beautifully maintained and the alpacas and other animals are fun to see. Feel free to bring your toys and you can drive right off the property. You will be staying in a rural area next to horses, goats, pigs, chickens. A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget. The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue. The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants. If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. Finally the year is capped off with the Christmas festival throughout December. Then there are the many foot and bike races that take place on the foothills trail throughout the year.

MTN View Manor is a 20 acre wooded parcel shared between the 7 new campsites that are located on the east side of the property at the beginning of both driveways. Beyond campsites 6,7,8 are private and set up for the owners only. Beyond sites 1-4 is owners residence and trail head to the Nisqually River. Not in the mood for a short hike to the River, cool off in the solar heated pool located near the trail head and house. POOL USE ONLY JULY,AUGUST,SEPTEMBER. River and Pool access is permitted 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. All of this is behind a locked gate just off the MT. Rainier scenic highway 706. The first entrance is where sites 6 and 7 are located. The second entrance is where sites 1-5 and the airbnb are located. Each site is clearly marked. Parking is permitted in front of each site. We provide a picnic table and trash bin at every site. No fires are allowed in individual sites but guest can congregate at the group fire pit that is located in the Middle of the field between campsite 3 and 4. We provide the firewood. The porta potty is located at the second driveway behind the privacy fence. Campers in site 6 and 7 can walk through the woods on maintained trails to access the porta potty or drive back out to the main driveway. The sites are large and spaced out.

Pleasant Places

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, and in order to keep the camp private, larger groups are given priority. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area with an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a five gallon jug for your use. We have solid firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games and hammocks are available to rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. No city lights here, the stargazing is amazing! You'll enjoy communing with the farm animals, the goats are especially hands on and love the attention campers give them, while the chickens and ducks are mostly just fun to observe. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes down the road, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle getaway. Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. This place was went meant to be shared in his vision, so thats what I'm doing with it. We no longer allow dogs due to my dogs no longer being friendly to visiting dogs after being attacked. Sorry for the inconvenience. The setup is simple, we are a property on the Carbon River with nearly 800ft of river front access. The levee runs along the length of the property creating continuous camping availability. RV camping in Mount Rainier guide

Overview

Just a short drive from Seattle, Mount Rainier offers springtime wildflowers, great hiking, and rock climbing opportunities during the warm summer months. The perpetually snow capped peak is set nearly 15,000 feet above sea level and is particularly popular with ambitious climbers, but there are also plenty of easier hikes for RV campers who want to take it easy. The national park has four campgrounds, three of which allow RVs. These are generally open from May or June until the end of September, and spaces book up quickly. If you want to go RV camping in the area outside of the busy high season or can't find a spot, plenty of privately run alternatives exist, ranging from small, privately owned RV campsites with picnic tables and hookups to larger RV parks with bathrooms, laundry facilities, and playgrounds.
